Ok Gents!

The grid for tonight is as follows >>>

Obviously if someone doesn't make it, then we all move up a place :)

Wow,Some work to do from back there.

OK well that was quite a race!

First of all I was really gutted to be taken out on the first corner. :grumpy: After looking forward to this race ALL week, and to tackling one of the greatest circuits in the world with a bunch of great racers was really filling me with excitement....:D:cool: at work today I was really looking forward to going home and having a good long race later on...

Then, to be removed from the equation from the very first corner was devastating! In fact, I had a decent start and was just about leading into the first corner when BANG out of nowhere I was crashed into from behind... Dowlin seriously misjudged his braking point, but I was struggling to see how as he had a clear road in front and was certain of holding his position. Arieracer was also taken out in the same incident...:nervous: It's just a shame that with the prospect of heavy damage, that the code at the start should have been to take it easy as the race is not won at the first corner, but can certainly be lost... So, that was effectively 22% of the field removed from the equation at the first bend of the race with mine and arieracer's cars completely knackered.

I pitted at the end of a VERY slow first lap to repair the damage, put a very small amount of fuel in and drove around for the first few laps feeling very angry :grumpy: I had a really lonely first half of the race, gutting. What an anti-climax to the week, or so I thought at the time...

But once I started to get into a groove, my race started to get better. I was fairly consistent after the first third of the race onwards, and gradually made up places. I pitted on lap 20 and added a few litres of fuel, to me it looked like enough to finish the race but my inexperience showed and I did not put enough in, but did not realise this at the time :banghead:

Still, I came out of the pits and put in some decent laps and made my way up to 2nd position after a hard fought scrap with fuelmyfire. I was pretty mad about the first lap and had a podium in sight so I REALLY wanted it. Then, with 5 laps to go I noticed the fuel situation did not look good. It distracted me and Dowlin was coming up behind me, and I braked really early into the final chicane which allowed him to get past. Then, my car duly conked out on the start finish straight so an almost certain podium 3rd place was thrown away. That was devastating especially when I knew I had tyres to get to the end of the race! :(:(:(:(:(

I was so amazed and happy that after my disastrous first lap my race had turned into a pretty certain podium until my inexperience led me to not filling my car up with enough fuel to finish the race :(

OK well sorry if I am coming across as a little grumpy, but a real mixture of emotions in that race... a real low in the first lap, then a proper high as the race progressed, followed by an utter low at the end of the race! Well this is just a game, so I really struggle to see how actual real racers cope!!!

Anyway, I look forward to the next race as always, but PLEASE if we have heavy damage again (or in any case!), can people be careful and mindful on that first lap.

Well done Geordie on the win BTW 👍

What it was Jammy, Dowlin's connection lagged, thats why he 'crashed' into you, it wasn't done on purpose, it was out of his control... on my replay Dowlin's NSX disappears for a moment then re-appears right on top of your car then he jumps through Arieracers NSX :indiff:

Unfortunately it was just really bad luck at the start....

Still, it was good that you really had a bit of everything tonight, not enough of the good stuff sure, but this is why I like throwing in the longer race into the season, as for most of it we just need to think about our tyres....well as you've learn't, fuel will always need monitoring during our endurance races! Just wait until next season when the Championship Endurance moves to 2hrs

Anyway, heavy damage is gone from next season, just the longer race and more guarranteed weather replaces it :sly:

Ah right well that will explain it so thanks for the that. I don't mean to start blaming people and all that, I was just miffed after looking forward to the race to it being over at the first corner. From my replay I didn't notice a jump forward from behind, there was no sudden movement on my replay, but I did notice a jump back afterwards which was clear to see.
Indeed I did have a mixture of all emotions, blimey it was an intense race because of that, and I really enjoyed mixing at the sharp end of the field for a while. The silly thing is I was aware to put extra fuel in, I just didn't choose enough quantity :-( just disappointed to miss out on that podium after I never dreamt of it after the first lap, was getting excited about that when I could see it was possible ! Ah well, maybe next time. Looking forward to those even longer races next season!

After missing last weeks race, I was determined to make the entire race tonight. Usually I struggle in endurance races, think back to Spa before in the Evo, and I too ran out of fuel, and the Nurb when I retired because of the heavy damage. But tonights race was epic. I managed to avoid the melly at T1 on the first lap, and get away. Not for long however as Fuel, Third and Geordie soon got past. I then spent a good portion of the race ahead of Jammy, trying to work out his pit strategy, trying to keep ahead of him. When Jammy pitted I knew it was time for me to change the tyres too. I seemed to get the undercut over Jammy, but an encounter with the astroturf put me out of shape and he made the pass. The rest of the race was spent keeping my car on track. I passed Jammy when he ran out of fuel. This race had it all, damage, crashes, fuel problems, and the strangest weather ever. Starting sunny, clouding over and looking like rain, before the sun burst through again. Great event Omnius, andd thanks to all who raced tonight. Epic.

Ade, after my disappointment of running out of fuel, I almost forgot our cool little dice in the middle! Yes, that was awesome, I remember I had you in sight for quite a few laps, seemed to gain a bit but then you kept me at bay, but I managed to home in a bit more on you, but started to get pressure from behind as my tyres were wearing. I pitted one lap before you I think, but you came out ahead of me... but by that time, I was really happy with the balance of my car, had just set my fastest laps and I managed to get close enough and apply the pressure on you, and eventually you just dropped the car on the kerb and I managed to nip by! yes, a great battle; great memories.

So, I'd like to thank all as well for what was an epic, on perhaps what is the greatest circuit of them all :) I am disappointed at how it finished, but must take heart from the great battles in the race and the fact I was pretty much on the pace; it turned out to be a tactical thriller.

And Omnius, thanks for your enthusiasm for this series and making it such a great experience to be part of. It's just awesome. I'm having a drink to celebrate that fact!

Excellent race reports guys! The highlights will be here this week, its just I'm a bit short of time due to my new job!

Hope the new job is going well! :)

Looking forward to the highlights and reliving the the highs and lows of the last race!

Round 11 & 12 highlights will have to be done together, I just don't have the time, and in some ways I'm pleased this is the last race of the season, this new job is killing my free time!

Damn it Third, I needed you to get in Geordie's way  ah well not alot I'll be able to do about where Geordie is, unless I slow down to find him ;)

Also, what is the starting grid for this week? Reverse of the Club standings?

You'll get your chance as I come around to lap you :) :)

In fairness the odds are against me, I have to win tomorrow and I need Geordie to come in 5th or lower to win the Overall Season.

The odds may be against me but I'm certainly not going to go easy, I'm not going to lie I feel very confident about winning tomorrow night with my recent run of form and how fast my car has proven to be. So anything could happen ;) So we'll have fun from the back of the grid guys best of luck in the Finale guys.

Your chances are better than mine Downlin! I need Geordie to be 13th and you to be 11th...

The last race is tomorrow mate!

Just had a few laps in my NSX. First real practice at Northlander. Love the track with its mixture of long straights, long sweeping high speed turns, and tight twisty catch you out corners. Best time so far is a 2.43.2xx. Dont know if thats any good, but I am sure I can get it down a bit more before tomorrows race.

Game on Dowlin.

Game on Dowlin.

You know what, at the end of the day I won't mind so much what happens as far as the championship goes as long as I get a cracking race tomorrow so Game On indeed.

On the race:

Best time: "2:38.7".
Time from simulated grid spot (8th): "2:42.9".

I tried without a wing but those downhill sections are mean...
