I have watched the replays and wanted to apologise to the group for, I guess, triggering Hill's crash and the following mess. I tried to follow the straightest line as possible, not touching a single car until Hill's, who seemed to get sandwiched between me and Scanny, causing his spin.

I slowed down to avoid any more contact with Hill but his spinning car and the car following me sent me flying to the right hand side, in Dowlin's path (who I did not see).

I waited until Hill got by and started going again, not realising that I had something to do with the only car not to get in front of me.

If I have to be given a penalty for this bad first lap, I will accept it graciously but please remember that it was not intentional.

EDIT: apologies to the Group AND Dowlin

Well I had no problem with it Warrius because I could see it all unfolding in front of me and I thought perhaps I could have squeezed past you and whoever it was on my right but obviously that didn't happen. I haven't looked at the replay myself but from what I remember, the part which affected me was my own fault for being a bit too brave.

Thanks but if you look at the replay from your point of view, it looks suspiciously like I'm trying hard to force you into the wall... :D

Ah ok well at the end of the day it didn't really effect my race too much because of my disconnection but in the end I understand the situation you were in and I'm not holding any grudges over it 👍

Hi Omnius,

Yes, I used an old car that I had in the race to save the time of having to break in a new one.

I'm not a great fan of a car regulation which is not water tight, ie its easy to dedect what everyone are using. The Mazda TC regulation is perfect but the club race one is not in my opinion.

You have a great group racing toghether and have a lot o fun. Even if I will have close racing with "Hillracing" there are not that many more to race with for me. That is always the risk when joining a new group.

So I will retire from the championship, and I do wish you all great close racing in the championship to come.

Ok, I want to be careful with my words because I don't want to come across as angry or over-step my boundaries but something about this just rubbed me the wrong way and I feel I should just let it out. And Johnkiller if you read this I mean no offence I'm just expressing my opinion from the message above.

The first thing is that you say you are not a fan of car regulations which are not "water-tight" and yet you seem to be the only one who has broken the regulations. The vast majority of us in CORE have always followed the regulations laid out by Omnius and, perhaps it is because this is my third season involved here, I feel that there is a lot of trust that has been developed between us. We are all friends at this stage so, to me at least, we would be essentially stabbing our friends in the back to get a small advantage over one another.

I understand that you were new to the series of course and that this was only your second night racing with us but if you had only been patient, you would hopefully have noticed this yourself. There are a few drivers who do sometimes struggle to keep up with the faster drivers or have difficulty setting up there cars for an event but none of them ever seem to go to the lengths to install illegal parts to make up that second or two. I also understand why you chose to use the car with the restricted part installed but your reasoning comes off as just lazy, sorry for being blunt.

The second thing that annoyed me was you saying that, apart from Hillracing, there was nobody else for you to really race with. This one was a little bit personal for me as me and you were racing very closely for much of the first race, yes I made a mistake which cost Hillracing a few seconds and yes the laptimes also show that I was the slower car when I was not in your slipstream but I feel like you have judged me and many other drivers prematurely. I mean there is a reason Geordie is is the Season 5 Champion and there is a reason for Fuelmyfire coming in 3rd in his debut season. These are some examples of the great fast racers we have here that could well give you a run for your money if given time.

We are two rounds into the Season and I just feel that many of us are still getting accustomed to the cars and if you had been more patient, races towards the middle and end of the season would be much more competitive.

But like I said before, I in no way intend to offend you or make enemies with you Johnkiller, I'm just expressing my feelings towards the text. I respect the fact that you are a very good, very quick driver and I also respect the fact that you owned up to using an illegal part when asked. And I also thank you for saying that we are a great group racing together, that is why I have stayed since Season 3. I appreciate your honesty in what you said but I felt I must reply in some fashion. Best of luck to you JohnKiller.

Apologies Omnius or anyone else who finds this inappropriate, I can always edit this to make it go away or whatever.

It's Scanny_Flick's turn to punch a hole in that air :)

A quiet heat 1 for our resident Sunday Cup host Ade3210 as he has a little 1-2 with Cobrius

R2H1-42.png

The 3 Ami... er that's not Fuelmyfire - it's WarriusZero mixing it with OmniusALX & Geordie139 :D

R2H1-43.png

What race craft! There isn't a better pair of drivers OmniusALX would feel comfortable with, pulling off a highspeed, 3 abreast turn 1 monster 'lets see who brakes first' manouver!

R2H1-43a.png

...apart from when the excitment gets the best of him and OmniusALX underbrakes, almost losing it into the wall at turn 2 :dunce:

R2H1-44.png

Ade3210 hot on the tail of Scanny_Flick :)

R2H1-45.png

He's done it again! Johnkiller2 takes the first win of round 2, how will he fare with starting at the back of the grid for heat 2??? :sly:

R2H1-46.png

Hillracing takes 2nd after a few quite laps towards the end of heat 1. Well Done!

R2H1-47.png

What do points make Dowlin? PRIZES!!! Well virtual ones, but 3rd place points are points all the same. Good racing matey :D

R2H2-7.png

Dowlin39 & Ade3210 have only seconds to avoid Warrius & Hillracing!

R2H2-8.png

As good as Hillracing is, his BRZ can't find any grip and off he goes :ouch:

R2H2-9.png

Queue the CARNAGE!

R2H2-10.png

After his false start, OmniusALX has to just guess at which side of the track to take :scared: :nervous:

R2H2-19.png

Fuelmyfire gets the jump on Geordie139 to take the lead 👍

R2H2-20.png

R2H2-21.png

This looks to become a familiar sight for heat 2 - Ade3210 vs OmniusALX 👍

R2H2-29.png

Phew! That was TOO close Geordie! :scared:

R2H2-32.png

R2H2-33.png

R2H2-34.png

R2H2-35.png

Ooh it's tight!!!! As Fuelmyfire displays good race craft and is aware of his surroundings 👍

R2H2-36.png

R2H2-37.png

DISASTER! R063R_GL4560W's race is done! :ouch: Total electrical failure (DC)...

R2H2-38.png

...No brakes for R063R as his BRZ ploughs into the cat litter, unlucky mate!

R2H2-39.png

R2H2-40.png

Meanwhile, for the battle for 2nd, Geordie139 and Hillracing get too close through turn 1...

R2H2-41.png

Was there a touch? Did Geordie just run out of the grippy stuff?

R2H2-42.png

Deja Vu anyone???? I've got to stop meeting a racing pack like this

R2H2-43.png

OmniusALX just couldn't risk 'racing' what with his new cold tyres...

R2H2-44.png

R2H2-45.png

Unlucky! Scanny_Flick after a sterling race runs wide at the tunnel with only a couple of laps remaining!!! :ouch: :ouch: :ouch:

R2H2-46.png

As WarriusZero & Fuelmyfire get caught up in Scanny's 'off' Ade3210 can't believe his luck as he jumps to 4th!!! 👍

R2H2-47.png

Can the Ademeister hold on??? :scared:

R2H2-48.png

It's 2 from 2 for Johnkiller2 :D 👍 MAXIMUM POINTS 👍

R2H2-49.png

Hillracing makes it a double podium race night....with one leason learned - don't play with your car's setup between heats! :dunce:

R2H2-50.png

Geordie139 makes it a first for the CORE GT Series - The closest 3rd place finish in five seasons :D 👍

R2H2-51.png

Not to be out done (and I don't normally show 4th place finishes) Ade3210 adds his name to the closest ever 4th place finish!!!! So unlucky Fuelmyfire :)

Really nice, Omnius, really nice. The racing was so close, it was unbelievable. I couldn't count how many times I had to slow down more than usual in the corners because there were 2 cars side by side in front of me, battling with the best of racing attitudes...

Loved it.

Dowlin39
Apologies Omnius or anyone else who finds this inappropriate, I can always edit this to make it go away or whatever.

It's fine Dowlin, your post stays :) you kind of summed up my feelings too.

So if we've lost a driver, due to these reasons, do we change final positions or keep things as they are?

Also, love the argument that says we are too slow when his car has illegal parts on it! Classic :D

To be fair, it was not the bonnet that was giving him an extra second a lap, especially as he would have had to add extra weight to comply to the minimum weight regulation.
But I agree that the principle stands.

Fantastic pics of a great night of racing. Race 2 was my favorite, and consisted of super close racing with super clean drivers. Couldnt believe my luck when Skanny went wide at the tunnel near the end, and I managed to squeeze past Warrius and Fuel. Excellent stuff chaps.

I also think that Dowlin hit the nail on the head with his post. Most of us have raced together for a long time now, and I regard the people I race with as friends to. Both Core GT and The Sunday Cup are built on trust, and when regulations are made for cars, I know that everyone I race with will stick to those rules. Maybe the Carbon hood, and the addition and position of ballast was enough to give Johnkiller an advantage, who knows? But one things certain. Fuelmyfire is right. It is funny that he claimed we were too slow, after racing with illegal parts.

Fantastic pics as usual Omnius. 👍

Also I tried some laps on Cheviot GTX with the Mazda and must say the track is brilliant with a really nice flow.

Thanks for all the kind words gents! It was a pleasure to complie them as always - but it's you who all have a big part to play in me capturing them :D 👍

I'm pleased you're enjoying the eXplanded Cheviot GT track Cobrius :)

Points won remain (as his car in both R1 & 2 had an effect on everyone), but you're correct, the leaderboard standings have changed with a driver quitting :sly:

Without saying anything myself, I'm pretty chuffed that you have all 'seen' this the same way I have, I couldn't have put it better myself Fuel! 👍

Ade's right of course, there's a level of trust when we use non GT controlled tuning, in the end its only yourself you're cheating really, we all want a good race, to see who is really a good driver...fitting other parts just to gain a few tenths is pretty pap, not that I'm claiming Johnkiller2 did this despite his apparent pace, it's like Dowlin summed up - why would you do that to the others that we've raced with and built up a solid online group with?

Anyway onto Round 3! It's going to be a biggy! :D (before I forget - a massive appology to Third_Reign for the 'incompatible room' glitch on Friday, I didn't know and just thought you were having internet issues and the race had started :( )

If this happens again, please, and this goes for anyone, let me know ASAP if it's a GT room prob other than a general internet thingy, and I'll hold the race :)

Well I'm bummed to see Johnkiller2 go as I enjoyed the racing with him and can see we think alike in pit strategy. Was planning on a first lap stop before race 2 and then he did the same thing.

I'm sorry to say I think I might have broke a rule on tuning without knowing it either. I did a weight reduction on my BRZ and ballasted to help with handling. Looking at what was written I didn't see this as adding parts as no parts were added to do it. If this is against the rules I apologize and will build a new car for the rest of the season. Also I will take whatever penalty is deemed appropriate.

Thanks for that Hill...yeah I'm afraid there's no weight reductions on the Club Cars...they remain what the manufacturer built them like.

Anything in the list on page 1 is what to fit to the car, if it doesn't mention it, it's not added or removed ;) from the car.

As this is your first infringment there is no penalty, as long as you return the car to it's required spec for the next Club Race 👍

Hey Top Gear fans!

Just watched the first episode, they had a trailer on for what to expect in this series - They have the 86GT vs BRZ S!!!!

I can't wait to see that one :D 👍

Aye,rallying a Bentley looked like fun last night,i see Lewis Hamilton's back on this series aswell. Lets hope he gets a dry lap of the track this time.👍👍

Here is a new video I have uploaded guys, once again it is only from my perspective as I'm taking my time with these to make sure I have everything right from the get go.

Also that annoying green line at the bottom of the video will be gone from now on, I've found out how to get rid of it. And I'm sorry about the music Omnius  my own music didn't kick in at the time of recording. Full races from the Season will be coming soon stay tuned for more. 👍

Nice one Dowlin 👍 (I was thinking about that green line :) )

Out of the all the music in GT5 this one is actually a favourite, reminds me of some sort of motorsport program or something along those lines...in fact it might have been used on something on the TV???

Oh, and so much for the close racing eh??? :indiff:

Fuelmyfire
Loving the MX-5 round this track! What kinda times are people posting?

managed a 1.32.xxx after last weeks race. Just a few laps run so some more to come off.
