I wouldn't worry about Rochester 68, its a sub minute lap :) so no pressure :sly:

I have managed a 0:56.xxx, but that was when I only had a spare few minutes and used the pad, so I can get that down a bit more. Gonna have half an hour before tonight to get a few laps in my rig.

sorry i missed both races but i kept on getting signed out, tried clearing cache and restarting the ps3 but it made no difference. will see you next week.

I vote for penalty on in le sarthe and in nurburgring in other words I suggest turning penalty on for all endurance races .

Rochester 68 was way too crazy...
Multiple damaged suspensions, 3x damaged drivetrain, and cars going all over the place. That race was pure madness. But it still ended with a pretty tight finish for me, just .064 behind rhonny_jotten. On a positive note, i did manage fastest lap.

Capering was very fun as well, Jamesy pulled an amazing pace, i couldn't quite keep a clean line, but that allowed some good position fights with mark.

Fun night tonight, one fun race and one madness event that would put a dirty racing room to shame ^^

Omnius, I checked replay of our incident where I pushed you into Ade - I had wheel damage on both of my left hand wheels after a previous accident on the final turn, which would explain why I was going so slowly when you approached. Like I said in-game, I seen you filling my rear view so started moving over to give you room - you can see me doing this if you watch from my car looking back towards you. You can also see my damage as well - I was able to see your damage when I switched to your car after the accident. My only explanation is that the damage on both wheels on the same side is what caused my car to jump unpredictably into your path.

And only now I realise the start times been changed to 8 o'clock. Doh!!!!

What happened in Race 2 geordie???

Well it wasn't meant to be a 'dirty' race, granted the track was fast and short, and with 12 cars I knew it was going to be 'different' from our normal track racing :)

Still I will be checking the replay, as intentional dirty racing isn't what we're about, but accidents do happen and its all a part of racing, skill and luck in equal measure. Even though I was 2 laps down, I still enjoyed it.

Lead the race for a couple of laps, had a good battle with Richy and yourself, sorry for clipping you as I went into that spin on turn 1 after clipping the grass (and with the damage and trying to pull out of the way with fast moving cars behind to allow you to right yourself, It caused a bit of a hazard for jamesy  oops!)

All in all, sometimes it adds to the season when we have a race like Rochester 68, a race that good, bad or indifferent, ends up mixing up the leaderboard as we approach the halfway mark 👍

Yeah, thats ok, just like I said above, races like Rochester 68, you need skill and luck, at that point, I just ran out of luck - it all adds to the drama of online racing 👍

I didn't think you'd pull across into me on purpose :)

I'm sure nobody had any ill intentions during that race, it was quite fun due to this "crazy" factor that came in when somebody's wheel hit a grass patch. I also had a few unlucky contacts with R063R and Buraspo coming out of the double left into the banking. I waited up for R063R on one of them.

I hit geordie quite hard while coming around a corner with him sitting in the barriers, he left shortly after, hope it wasn't due to that. Brakes locked on me and front was lifting off on that final turn, so i couldn't dodge him there and to make matters worse, jamesy was lapping me from the outside. An then there were some events where i just got caught up in a chain reaction, so no hard feelings there.

Great nights racing Omnius, I really enjoyed cape ring. Rochester was a bit mental, and I retired after 9 laps as I felt I would have become a hazard to the front runners.

Laps 2 to 10 were the laps that set the race, unfortunately when I lost it at turn 1 on lap 10, this is where some of the accidents happened with Third and Jamesy.

I did notice on laps 35 and 38 what jamesy was mentioning. He was in 2nd and ended up 'racing' Third (6th) and BAZZABAX (8th) at that time. I can see what jameys was saying, sure if you are on the same lap, race, but if you know the car coming up on you isn't a position behind you, there's no real need to race, unless you are catching the actual man in front of you, then the driver who is lapping you needs to be aware you are still racing for your position.

If you are a lap down, like any motorsport, you would allow for the faster front runners to safely pass.

We all know that when you loss it in GT5, and there are others nearby - there's not a lot you can do to avoid an accident, its all down to the approaching car to dive out of the way :scared:

Oh and Ronny must be buzzing, HOW tight was that 3rd place finish with Third_Reign??!??!??!??!!!

I pitted on lap (my) lap 32 and came out right in front of jamesy. Given how narrow the track was, i couldn't just disappear from the inside. I went of the gas on the end and let him pass me, but quickly noticed that i was just much faster than him on fresh compound (I was running ~52.3xx), which is why I "raced" jamesey to not waste my tyre advantage for the positions I still wanted to gain. Sorry about that if it caused any trouble :ouch:

What happened in Race 2 geordie???

Started on pole, had a crap first lap and dropped to 9th,dodged some carnage to work my way back up to 2nd then around lap 20 all hell broke loose at home.

All sorted now though, damn real life interfering with my racing :grumpy::grumpy:

My first attempt at some photos of our races. Apologies that I am in all of them  - they are just the highlights of my own evening

Double Trouble

Thought it was kinda cool that me and BAZ were both racing in a very similar tone of orange (maybe completely similar...) and that we had both selected racing numbers beside one another.

Days of Thunder

The plume of smoke over the horizon ahead of myself and Jamesy, what has happened..... Oh - it's Omnius, who appears to have got bored of racing and would much prefer to take in the beauty of the Northumberland countryside!

Mind The Gap

Omnius displays perfect racing etiquette and sits motionless until the approaching traffic has passed.....while I have a squeaky bum moment 30m previous when my left-hand tyres both go on to the grass (displayed by dust kicked up in background) and a further collision with Omnius seems imminent.

*Insert Four-letter word HERE...

Jamesy appears to have had enough of the pressure of a back marker following him and fluffs it...

Good racing last night lads 👍.

Rochester is mental, really good track Omnius, i managed to get in a nice grove about 10 or 15 laps in. There was bound to be a few accidents on there which there was lol but it was all good fun :).

Sorry about the hit in the qualy at Rochester Omnius, i was trying to get out of the way after spinning off :ouch:.

That was a massive smash on the first lap at capering, Dowlin spun right in front of the pack  it was like days of thunder, smoke everywhere i thought he was gonna spin to the outside of the track, so i kept my throttle down bad idea :ouch::ouch:, but crashes and smashes is all part of racing 👍👍

Couldn't have put it better myself  👍

Thanks for the kind words regarding the track

It wasn't a problem the collision during QF, as you quite rightly say crashes and smashes are a part of racing :)

@R063R - Nice to see some 'edited' photo highlights 👍 Good Job!

MkII.jpg

This one's for you Dowlin!

Saw it on the way back today, a rather nice example if you ask me 👍
