Thought a little info on the Gen 5 LT1 would be nice since i brought it up in another thread.

Info from Road & Track .

Displacement remains at 6.2L
4.4" bore spacing .
11.5:1 compression ratio.
Piston cooling jets from the LSA now standard on all Gen 5's ,
Direct injection that runs off a cam lobe .
Variable valve timing that can advance or retard the cam 62 degree's.
Cylinder deactivation which GM calls Active fuel management (V4).
Dry sump is standard but higher models get a dry sump.
GM is promising 450hp and 450 ft-lb.

You mean higher models get a wet sump?

It looks familiar ........

I'm sorry, but I don't see how it looks like a Viper. I just don't.

I think the front looks a bit like the Viper because, the way the front of the car is shaped, the grille looks like it's been shaped in a similar way to the Viper.

^^^I actually like the Camaro taillights. I think it suits it well and is a nice change. And besides, half their models now have them anyways so I think it's likely.

Just because they look good on one car doesn't mean you should put them on everything you sell. ;)

Not sure I grasp whats wrong with having those rectangular tail lights (I don't reffer to them as Camaro tail lights), I actually think they would fit given what the actual shape of the car is shaping up to be. Honestly, I think the same old round tail lights would sort've look out of place on a car with those sort of sharp lines.

As far as having them across the model range (Sans the trucks), it does sort've reak of "Overboard" but since I'm paying attention to realistacally only four cars out of the whole thing, I'm not really bothered.

Because the design as we've seen it already reaches a level of XERIOUXLY FORXE self-parody even without them. At this point I halfway expect them to officially change the name from "Corvette" to "'Vette" because how much "cooler" that is.

Because the car as had circular and oval shaped lights for 60+ years and changing them now would be kind of dumb.

So having round ones would restore some sort of normalcy (assuming thats even a word) to it? Maybe its just me, but round tail lights on a car with sharp lines would just look really off. I know round is what everyone likes, but I think that would be a serious design clash.

Wait... have you ever considered that some parts of the tail lights are covered by the black plastic/cloth layer to make them look like they come from the camaros?
btw hey mate

At least to me, I like the renders with Camaro taillights for some reason. But I agree, they would clash. I have a feeling GM could make it work though. Especially because like I said before, they've used those for 60+ years.

The overall shape is extremely similar. That render is BEAUTIFUL

If anything the front wheel arch could be slightly higher

Thats exactly why I don't reffer to them as "Camaro Tail lights"
