I'm pretty sure the headlights will be under one closed cover and that the turn signals will be integrated.

Hope so, bit ugly other wise but it would be a long thin headlight if that the correct placement

Yeah, you're right, crashing it won't do anything, also, on the description it says that the tail lights are "fake"
I think it means the shape, so now is more probable that Jalopnik's render is true. :ouch:

After some extensive screencaps of the trailiers and some photos I've taken of the camo'd car, I think so too.

Got some up close shots:

Some interesting shots of what looks like Intakes (Perhaps a Grand Sport refference?),

And of course, the unmistakable Stingray grille,

I'm gonna probably get hammered for this but honestly, I don't see anything wrong with the Jalopnik Render. I actually like it, its the only render I actually did look at and not only didn't think it looked like crap, but immediately thought "Thats a Corvette". More & more, I keep seeing cues to the concept. Even the roof (which sure has somewhat a of resemblance to the C6), but more so to the concept.

To be honest, the GT5 car gives me hope again.
I was disappointed by the first renders, but the details I see here are looking good.
We'll see if it can outshine the new Viper.

Its making the Jalopnik ones (not the horrendous GT5 photoshops from the first post, the supposed naked camo based ones) look more and more legit. I personally will love it if turns out %100 like it and the more I can dig form the trailers, the more I can sort've undress the car and like what I see.

As a Viper fan I find it very difficult for me to believe the new Vette will outshine the SRT. I think the renders from Jalopnik are very similar to what we could see in the final car comparing with the car ingame. Unfortunately, IMO, the car from the renders is very ugly. It's sad the car can still have those ugly Camaro tail lights instead of the iconic circular ones. I would hate to see such a classic car loose it's personality like that. I still hope I'm wrong though. Waiting for Jan 13...

There's the problem. You're already biased. So no matter how good it looks you will still think the Viper is better.

And his opinion is a problem? If he likes the Viper, let him, after all, he still able to like other cars, even Corvette!

People are so radical with these kind of things... lol

<3 Ford
<3 Dodge
<3 Chevrolet

To be honest, I'm also a bit biased, since I liked the Corvette more than the Viper in the past. I'm curious if this will change this generation.

Nothing beats this in the US sportscar segment though:

Love her. :D

It does look promising, has anyone yet explicitly confirmed it will have these quad pipes? Because I honestly hope they don't put them in the final model.

As for topping the Viper, here's hoping that GM can surprise us but in overall, SRT had much more to start from, the overall shape of the Viper is more interesting than the regular "squared" 'Vettes from the fourth-gen onwards.

The trailers that have been released shows quad pipes.

Not clear obviously but going off the test car we have (supposedly close to the final production car), looks like its getting quad pipes. I don't see whats wrong with it.

Perhaps I am a bit pessimistic about them, but I find it very hard to harmonize these four lined pipes to a clean rear end design. It's not a direct comparison(for god's sake), but this springs to mind every time I look at the quad pipes:

Perhaps it's just me, nearly every friend of mine who's into cars think they're awesome, though.

Indeed, and if anything the C7 seems to have a more refined arrangement instead of just hanging the tips under the car.

They were and I'm aware of that, but they were grouped as 2 pairs. Having all four of them clustered together looks a bit off to my eyes.

Nevertheless, it's a minor gripe. The overall shape is promising to be faithful to the sixth generation, which is a good start.

I know it's another GT5 picture but:

They are paired. Yes, closer together, but the gap in the middle is bigger than between the pipes.

Wow, didn't notice that. That's much better. :D Thanks for the pic, Ace.

Here's a revealing screen from the GM trailer.

Note the side rear window much like the Jalopnik renders.

Something the pic I took also showed:

You can almost also see the tail lights (as well as the spoiler). So basically as much as everyone will not want to believe, Jalopnik looks to be pretty correct. Of course I loved that render so I'm more and more loving the extreme possibility of that render being what the Corvette C7 will look like.

My bad, I guess I missed that post. I too quite like the Jalopnik renders so I can't wait for 1/13/13!

Thought a little info on the Gen 5 LT1 would be nice since i brought it up in another thread.

Info from Road & Track .

Displacement remains at 6.2L
4.4" bore spacing .
11.5:1 compression ratio.
Piston cooling jets from the LSA now standard on all Gen 5's ,
Direct injection that runs off a cam lobe .
Variable valve timing that can advance or retard the cam 62 degree's.
Cylinder deactivation which GM calls Active fuel management (V4).
Wet sump is standard but higher models get a Dry sump.
GM is promising 450hp and 450 ft-lb.
