Corvette C7

Personally, I think that round (note I didn't say circular) taillights are a staple of the Corvette. Sure they can change up the overall design, but they should keep the round taillights (and of course the emblem) to tie the Corvette ideal to the car. It's the same with the 3-bar taillights on the Mustang. Even though they sort of lost them for a time in the 80's (granted the overall body shape was wildly different as well), they brought them back for the redesign in '94 (albeight horizontally).

I agree but I also was sad to see the popup headlights go away when the C6 came out. BTW Some of the Early fox cars did have the tailights seprated in the 3 bar. IIRC it was the SVO Mustangs.

SVO Mustangs were not early Fox Bodys and they didn't have the 3 bar lights. No fox ever did including the early models. The early ones had barred lights but not 3 bar, had way more.

I stand corrected lol. I just looked up taillights on 5oh resto. I always figured SVOs are early since they were before the '87 aero restyle.

Interesting, sounds good to me 👍 It's nice that the money goes to charity, instead of it being a gift or something.

Hmm, thats exactly what SRT did with the First Production Viper if I'm not mistaken. Still a thoughtful decision for a worthy cause 👍

Yup no worries, I beleive the first 2-3 years of the Fox Bodies only had the barred taillights like this:

I cannot wait till the day we see GM build a Mid engine car with their latest LS series motor in it. Throw a nice interior in there and people will say......

Ferarri who?

Hope you are aware that those are unofficial renders (especially the shopped GT5 pic).

That car looks awesome, also the render is pretty close to the real thing (judging by recent legit GM drawings and renders by Jalopnik (which are also legit).

I'd love to have an arctic white one with black rims and a black spoiler.

I hate that stupid side vent behind the front wheel arch... The rest is fine though, as long as you're right and that isn't the correct grill.

Red one, is the closest render so far. Much like the Jalopnik render. Coming from a select few lucky one's that saw the actual C7 at a behind closed doors unveiling in Las Vegas last year.

The C7 looks so promising and then you get to the rear, it's so ugly, it doesn't fit the style of the car, the lines just seem to come to a sudden stop . Also, those taillights don't suit it either go back to the round ones.

I think this is going to be a car your going to have to see in the flesh to really get it. Someone on the corvette forum shopped round lights onto the C7 renders and it just didn't go well with the lines of the car. I just don't see what all the hate is about, it's the exact same issue people had when the C6 ditched the pop ups.

New MotorTrend Renders

They definitely have the front grill wrong but that back might be closer to the real thing.

Plenty more pictures here with the full article.

Hmmm... I like how the car looks now. I can see some of the previous Corvettes in the C7. And I really don't like the tail lights on this one.

Is it me or do the C7's rear lights look somewhat close to the C4 Corvette's tail lights mixed with the new Camaro? :odd:

Here's a pic of a C4 tail lights to compare.

@Eric W: Looks like a NSX-R8-Corvette hybrid. Cool for a racing concept, but for a production car of the Vettes, no. :yuck:
