Course Maker in GT6?

It's obvious they have been listening to all the people that want to cruise. There should be no complaining. You can probably do rest stops along the way or meet up with friends at a certain spot. Heck create a few circuits in between and pretend to drive to those circuits as Track Days.

Create a huge circle and drift a RUF BTR all the way around it. :dopey:

But in all seriousness, if the Course Maker mechanics are vastly improved from GT4.5's, I'll definitely make some stuff. If you're only my friends list, you'll notice I have a dirt course, which was my failed attempt at making a dirt oval for some derpy, dirty racing.

Create red rock valley XD if there's a theme similar to willow springs

Darn you, you took it right in front of me  :sly:

Nah, I'm just kidding. If we can model freely, I'd try to make classic GT tracks, like Midfield, El Capitan, heck, even Motor Sports Land, and some rally stages in each their part of the setting(s). Maybe throw in some classic NFS and real tracks too.

This news is freaking amazing. Skies the limit basically with that amount of space and I can't wait to dig into this new course maker! I can see me spending many a night constructing awesome new tracks. PD, thank you, and as someone has said, Dec 6th can't come soon enough.:)👍

So what will you do with that amount of space?.

I'll probably spend the first few hours like this:

And then I'll make a realistic countryside road.

Hopefully there'll be some landmarks in the area, such as hills, rivers, lakes...

I'll toss in a custom track like the ones I used to create for Race '07.

They tend to be like Knockhill, the Scottish circuit. Lots of elevation change, and a fun challenging layout.

Yes, definitely overwhelming news.

I'm really interested in seeing how much control we'll have over terrain. If it's randomized for us to lay roads on as we wish that'd be cool, but I'd want to have really good sized mountain ranges for Touge and canyon running.

Another thing I'm hoping for is AI traffic. Just low res traffic, vans, trucks, etc. to give more life, with the option to turn it off though of course.

A long, winding, narrow mountainside road, hopefully with no invisible wall to prevent people from falling..:mischievous:

Or a long, point to point track that crosses several types of terrain, then host an endurance competition.
(If there's sand dunes... Dakar Rally, Baja 1000 anyone?)

I wonder if someone will go as far as to model the entire Nuburgring Nordschleife out of boredom.

What if GT6 course creator allows us to use certain real world or original tracks as theme ( scenery, track side objects and road surface ).

Imagine making new course hundreds of miles long with nordschleife assets ( track objects, road and scenery ) or a very long highway track with twisty bits added - made from SSR7, SSRX and SSR5 theme  perfect for cruising and highway battle Tokyo Extreme Racer style  with the new physics and tire model, new cars

I can't wait to see just how much of the 2500 square kilometers is available for use. Regardless of what answer is, GT6 sure raised the bar for content for all future race games.

This thing could give me a years worth of things to do all by itself!

That's exactly how I'm seeing it.

And I'm hoping for an answer about how long the tracks can be, and about what other locations there are, whether they're like Andalucia or Toscana from GT5 (obviously). Will we have both types (which seems like it's obvious that there will be) or will all the "Course Maker" locations be like Andalucia?

If anyone manages this, I'll literally film myself bowing down to his/her greatness and upload it to YouTube for your viewing pleasure :bowdown::bowdown:.

A full 1:1 length if it isn't possible, but if we have the freedom to do with the areas pretty much what we want, I'm sure the most significant bits can be put together and make for great cruising 👍

Write stuff with all the track, shape it into letters and make tracks that say funny things.

After reading through the article on the news section here, I cant help but to see a Test Drive Unlimited style "map" here. One that allows us to define the track parameters within the given space.

I used that feature with its endless possibilities in TDU, and to be honest, I sure hope to see a "drive around the island" type race!

Try and recreate what Top Gear did...

Joking aside, I'd probably try Mt. Haruna (Akina in Initial D) or the Shuto Expressway system in Tokyo.

Well, i think it is great and all that the coursemaker will span such a vast area. I highly doubt however we have all this freedom people are thinking of.

It is also very funny to see how one's imagination runs wild after this news. Traffic, city's, mountains, components of reallife tracks? There has never been a word about those things. I think the new course maker will surely be an eyeopener for the life span of GT6, but except for the size we no nothing yet.

Let's wait for TGS or the release before we are expecting thing and will be dissappointed for a coursemaker that is actually quite good, where it not for out insane expectations.

Oh it would be so amazing if there's free roam, but one would think that they would have told us that. This is all so very confusing :scared:

Someone who's right on my level, finally! I was losing my mind this past hour.

Some people are wondering/questioning if we can make point-to-point tracks. I think that one's an obvious yes.

It seems that Kaz has been, dare I say it, listening to us. :D

He has been accommodating to non-racing tastes like drift, so I suspect some touge love in the new locations, such as something based around a Mt Fuji-like setting. Which is one of the most challenging stretches of road on the planet, and a lot of fun in games that feature it.

With all the clamor for point to point rally, I think this will be an option with the track types available. The only real question is length. In GT5's Course Maker, I was able to make a circuit of about 5.5 miles. I'd think a satisfying P-to-P course would be twice that, at least.I'm thinking a good one would be 20-25 miles.

I do have one other question: will we be able to port over courses from GT5? I have one I dearly love I've named Excalibur, my first track, and the one 5.5 miles long which they say not to attempt first off - which of course I disregarded completely. And it is awesome. I'd sure love to see it in GT6.
