Whereabouts is China on this list?
<snip>
I left China off the list deliberately. Too many people mistrust data from China. I felt that this list was long enough and included reasonably credible sources

Is "pretending the virus away" the same as "disinformation"?
I'd imagine it depends on the context. It's certainly self-deception if it's internal, but if it's external, then I suppose it could be considered disinformation.

I was thinking of the President* "pretending the virus away" for ten weeks.

Incidentally, speaking of Texas, I downloaded their latest spreadsheet today and created this from their data...

Stay safe!

The mayor of Seattle and the King County executive have issued a directive that all citizens wear masks in public when keeping more than 2m distance is in any question. The "directive" means that it is not enforceable by law. However, similar mandatory requirements are now issued for all city buildings and the Sea-Tac airport. It is apparent that relaxation of lockdown will result in more infections and deaths. Worldwide. We in Seattle are becoming resigned to being locked down and wearing masks in public at all times on more or less on an open-ended basis. Maybe a year, maybe more. Dystopia is here.

The US government had moved on from the money tree and somehow found an entire damned forest of money trees.

$2,000 Per Person Plus $2,000 Per Child: Monthly Economic Crisis Support Act Would Send Payments To Over 90% Of Americans

It apparently works out to be about $304,000,000,000 per month if it passes. That's $304 billion every single month.

My family alone would get $6,000 a month since we jointly make less than $200k. I don't even know what I'd do with that much extra money coming in. Probably buy something ridiculous or at the very least a new car.

I honestly can't see how this would help unless it causes the economy to start back up by giving it a monetary kick in the pants.

Wouldn't we need to be past these lockdown phases though before sending out that much money to kickstart the economy? Otherwise, the money just sits in people's accounts 'cause everything is still in limbo?

BTW, these handouts sound nice on paper, but has it been shared how it's going to affect tax season?
How can anyone possibly have negative feelings towards Betty White? :odd:
Is that why she was trending? Whew.

Thought she might have had some weird relation to MILF trending as well.

That's kind of funny, I was just talking with a friend about Tom Hanks today. Specifically the simultaneously hilarious and tragic vanilla extract bit on Family Ties.

She's trending because she did some sort of recent tv film work at age 98.

Advisor to Swedish government questions lockdowns, says people are smart and will do the right thing when they are told what the right thing is.

Trump is hilarious and always makes me laugh with his blunt rudeness.. all that's missing is him putting his hand up and showing the bird to anyone who pisses him off

Many countries have made their beds with lockdowns, including school closures. What happens this fall? With infections now rising and falling in waves, authorities will be locked in to their own rhetoric, and schools will not open in the fall.
