China cleans up its act.

Well they'll be cleaning again.
The second wave of the virus is now hitting once again in China's factories.
As we kinda knew that a second wave is bound to happen.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has coronavirus
Mr Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus, Downing Street says. His symptoms are mild and he will continue to lead the government response to the virus while he self-isolates, a spokesman says.

If this was true, would the human body kill the virus with its normal temperature of around 37°C?
Yes I know. I asked the origin of the message and was told it was downloaded and translated from a Spanish medical facility. It's probably hogwash so I'll delete it and note the reason

It can't be a surprise that someone who meets so many people in the course of their day job has caught the contact-transmitted virus, surely? Charles hadn't even got the hang of doing the namaste greeting two weeks ago, and they almost certainly have several people in common they've met. I'd be more surprised if he didn't get it.

Boris is 55, and thus in a higher risk group (albeit still relatively small compared to the 60+ brackets), but given that he's done a decent job thus far it'd be somewhat churlish to take glee in his illness - more so than, say, convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein's.

probably hogwash
That's overly kind.

Definitely not someone who is supposed to have continued to shake hands with them.

In other news. I've got home from work and am self isolating for the next two weeks at the instruction of my employer.

But that is a caveat, because can we actually work out which businesses will survive? and if the position is still there, because of reduced demand as not everyone will have money on the other side of this to do regular economy things.
The state of Georgia has roughly a 12k when more than 10k pilots, flight attendants and mechanics took a leave of absence from Delta.

I would not put stock into these figures shown to heavily, as it’s being done across the nation in different corporations.

...One of the downsides to being "locked down" at home is the internet speed slowing down to a worm's pace. I need a speedy connection for my work, but that's proving to be impossible atm. And because of the slow connection, can't even play online games, too.

One more reason to hate this damn virus, then.

The thing about those numbers is that several thousands of those people are not actually unemployed in the usual sense. Many of them have their jobs waiting for them when the quarantines lift & their businesses can reopen.

...and when will that happen?

Here's a more detailed listing of layoffs and furloughs.
https://www.businessinsider.com/cor...m-beachs-mar-a-lago-have-temporarily-closed-9

In some sense, a furlough is actually worse than a layoff. Because the people on furlough are left wondering whether their job really is waiting for them or will ever come back. As a result, if they postpone their job search, they might find all available jobs taken, and burn through their savings waiting on a job that never materializes. If they're on furlough, I would advise them to get their resume out and start job hunting.

How long until those airlines bring those employees back? Are we traveling in force in August? October?

We are 11 days into self-isolation and it is really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space with tears running down her cheeks.

Don’t get me wrong, I empathize with her. I’ve considered letting her in many times, but rules are rules.

Till Lindemann, frontman of Rammstein has tested positive for Covid-19. He’s currently in the intensive care unit in Berlin according to various sources. He’s getting better already, no longer life threatening which is good news. Hoping he and everybody else in the world who has it makes a full recovery.

it’s starting to spread here in Northern Ontario. I’m expecting it to be a total :censored:show here within a week or two.

I heard a rumour that one of my co workers from quebec tested positive but is still going to work anyway. Heard this from my mother in law of all people so i’ll take it with a grain of salt. If true he should be fired and receive a beating though.

He probably set the virus on fire to cure himself.

Very good. One of the articles I read about his situation mentioned he’s a heavy smoker.
