Does the starting grid lineup ever change?
As far as i know, no, it's always the same lineup and most of the time, NSX leads until first top, then Kokubun leads until his only stop, then NSX again until his second stop and Kokubun wins. Sometimes though, NSX pits different (earlier or shorter) and manages to win. So the race is not always 100% the same.

I think the NSX doesn't use 600pp but more, maybe others too.

Very strange, working perfectly yesterday, to day the PP for ALPINE 220 changed...and I didnt found the way to go below 600pp🙈

Apologies. I Don't want to get flamed for posting glitch tunes in this thread. Just trying to help you out because mine works fine. It's the same one @Max_HP referred to earlier.

Just checked mine, the tune still works fine no problems.

maybe changed tires? need to do standard size and no body or engine tunings.
You can change the style/pattern of wheels of your choice, but the wheels and tyres MUST be the same standard size(and no wide offsets) as the A220 to keep it under 600PP.

I have the crankshaft....but yesterday..obviously also😄
 
Just gave the Alpine a try. Its a little twitchier than the Audi R8 at the start but it's definitely faster and once the track dries a bit its works great. Blows their doors off. 25:31 total race time, quite a bit quicker than I could manage in the Audi with my FL being about 12 seconds faster in the Alpine lol

I tried the Escudo and the DP 100, I felt that I was quicker in the Aston in the end (pitting feels like a waste of time for me)

For those who use the A220 with Racing Softs wouldnt it be quicker to make a one stop strategy (Naffantait's video displays a two stopper) ? Starting with Intermediates and then switch to Race Mediums (dont know, maybe you cant get below below pp with such tires)

Also, someone keen to share his 'rotacino' tune so I can give it a try ? Thanks in advance !

A220 with Racing Softs is a glitch tune, you can't change tires. So yes, at first it is really sloppy because of the wet track and then after about 3 rounds, they start to wear relly fast. I did a 1 stop race before but the back left tire was becoming full red in lap 7 and 12. Was no problem because you have enough lead to drive really careful, but it is not so much fun. with 2 stops, its easier to control, but takes a bit longer. i did one on lap 6 for new tires and fuel und another on lap 10 with only tires.

SUZUKI ROTTUCCINO :

For Tokyo 600PP grind, the following setup is good for 2min laps on RH and overall race time under 26 min (see screenshots).

After doing the engine swap, buy every upgrade possible, including bore up, ports polish, rigidity, medium or high rpm turbo, and aero parts. Crank downforce to full (unless you enjoy the wheelies coming out of the tunnel), and set top gear speed to around 420 km/hr (you will only get to around 360 km/hr but you don't want to max the revs). I've tightened up the suspension settings, but I'm not sure if it helps much. I'm sure someone will have a better handling setup, but this works fine for me.

Be sure to install some kick ass rims, to impress the girls.

I'm running every assist possible. Breaking zones on, TCS 5, ASC on and countersteering on Strong, and still it's a handful (it's better than the Tomahawk though IMO)

Many strategies are possible for the win. At optimum you can lap the entire field, so there's plenty of flexibility.

Pretty much you must start on Intermediate tyres... On the first few laps it's almost impossible to get around the corners with Racing tyres. So even though you could get 12 laps out of the fuel (with minor fuel saving) it's easier to leave Fuel Map on 1 and add a small splash at the stop

1 STOP strategies
3 IM + 9 RH
4 IM + 8 RH
6 IM + 6 RM

2 Stop strategies
3 IM + 5 RM + 4 RM
4 IM + 4 RM + 4 RM
6 IM + 3 RS + 3 RS
Etc

Usually I don't care how a car looks, but in this case I'm probably going to do many thousand kms, so I thought I should try to improve the (original) poky look, just in case the occasional screenshot was warranted.

Awesome! Been trying to get a RM tune since I had one before PD patched it haha.
I like the RM tune as you can go fast from the get go and don't have to worry about the slippery track for the first 2 laps.

i just tried the RM tune, it really works and is awesome indeed, but the first round ist still very slippery, i think thats always the same if you dont use IMs.

I think the race time is a bit slower than 1 stop with RSs, but not much, since i got 10 second penalty in last round because those damn AI never move for lapping. :D But it's a lot easier to drive. i stopped only when fuel was out and changed tires too and some fuel to finish the race.

How do you find these things? i mean there is like a gazillion of possible combinations, lol. If anyone can find a RH tune, it might be possible to do no stop race with FM6 or something.

It's not as bad as RS's imo. I can carry more speed into the corners and the car feels more stable.

It's a lot of trial and error and luck. When I found the RM tune pre-patch, it took me almost a day lol.
Yeah, the combinations are in the millions lol.
I don't think a RH tune will have the same grip as the RM's imo.

OK, first impressions on BarracudaNL's RM tune for the A220:
1) You can push the A220 much much harder on RM's without worrying about the tyres going red too quick and focus more on your lap.
2) The tyres last way longer. I think a no stopper 'might' be possible with these RM's on a 6 FM(more testing needed). If not, I think 10-11 laps before pitting is possible. I got 9 laps(JUST) going flat out on FM1 before pitting.
3) The A220 is much more stable at speed taking corners without that twitchiness on RS tyres.
4) I'm able to apply throttle mid corner without the car losing traction like it does on RS.You can get on the throttle earlier too.
5) The car doesn't lose traction and spit you into the wall if you hit a water puddle like it does on RS.
Overall, I think this is THE BEST tune on RM's for Tokyo to squeeze out the fastest time possible.
Just did my first run(not the best or cleanest as it was a test run) on this new RM tune with a 25:02(I was going flat out) and can definitely drop into the 24mins. That's the confidence these RM tyres gives ya haha. I ain't the best driver nor the fastest, there are some speed freaks on this here forum.:D
This tune feels almost the same to the RM tune I had pre patch, in terms of the speed and handling characteristics of the A220.
Test it out for yourselves and see what you think. 🙂

I really need to stop trying this race. I just end up hating the game every time. Don't know why I eventually come back to it thinking I might enjoy it for once.

I agree that it's frustrating, but actually I'm enjoying the challenge (to get the quickest race time without Tomahawk)

Have you turned on all the assists? Including display of the braking zone? TCS 5, ASC & Countersteering.

For all these tunes (in combination with the wet track) the car handling is questionable, and, braking zones are massively long, and corner speed is slow...

Positive things to remember...
1. Cr 825,000 is worth the grind
2. Clean race bonus is not lost if you hit the wall, or a backmarker, so just get clear of the field on the first lap and then race yourself
