Crysis 3

Played the beta on the 360 and I am hugely Disapointed with the graphics, for me crysis 2 looks better at this stage. Here's hoping they improve them a lot before release, although it worries me that there has been a severe lack of console footage.
I have been in over 14 betas. What you see in a beta / demo is what you see in the full game. It is very very very rare to see any difference from a beta/demo to the full game. Especially since Crysis 3 is coming out in a couple weeks. What you see is what you will get with the full game.

Sounds very surprising the graphics for Crysis 3 have went backward according to the community feedback. Crysis 2 looked very good on the 360. One of the top games graphically on the 360 besides FF13 and Halo 4 campaign. I will play the Crysis 3 demo tonight. Is it in 3d? The cover of the PS3 shows 3d but I dont know if the 360 version is 3d. I am guessing it is.

You need to update your drivers; nvidia released a driver yesterday or the day before that increased sli performance by 65% in Crysis 3. And of course you're going to have to have a monstrous pc to handle crysis 3 on three screens.... The best single gpu cards can't even achieve 60 fps at max settings without an overclock on one screen...

Some of the multiplayer elements are going to have slightly lower detail than single player simply because singleplayer is why this game exists.

Not exactly sure what game you are looking at.... but Crysis 3 is gorgeous.

I can't find that driver. I heard there was a new one but it's not under their beta drivers on nvidia's site. I didn't really need it anyway after inspector fixed the sli, unless it helps the AA, because even at 8xmsaa it doesn't look that great for high AA.

I guess the looks are subject to opinion, but I just played a few more games with maxed out graphics after I got my SLI working with great FPS and it doesn't look that good. I will retract my it looks bad statement after getting sli going and really maxing it out with good FPS, but it's not all that great. I would expect a game from any company to look like this. This game is in no way setting the standard got graphics or even taken them to another level. They claimed next gen graphics but this isn't even close to being the best looking game out there.

You must not be noticing the lighting, particle effects, massive amounts of detail in the water, the incredible amount of foliage on the ground (that no game has ever come close to) etc etc... I mean compare it to recent AAA titles that release a single texture for a large area of grass.... If you were expecting "next-gen" type crap... don't... you're already on PC. We've been "next-gen" for years.

What you must not like is the art style... because the actual graphics and level of detail is absolutely stunning. Look at the detail on the weapons alone.... comparison to bf3... yikes....

Have you ever removed the blue filter from bf3? It really shows you how poor bf3 is graphically in many places.

Maybe it is the art style, I just don't care for it. It just looks stale to me.
Back to iracing and some projects for my rig.

Zoology you linked driver that arent available anymore, they have been replace by new ones now. If anyone want to get them, look for Geforce 313.96 Beta driver. It will speed up performance of GTX 6xx card on some other game as well as in Crysis 3 (AC3 gets a good boost of performance with those drivers).

Tried the game it looks great, I can't wait to play the solo mode. Game run smooth for me also even if I dont have a "killer" config.

Obviously I tried the PC demo since I have no interest on playing any game that is out on pc on any other platform.

Woops, sorry about that.

Running a 2500k (stock clocks) 7950 @ 1100/1550; running all max settings with fxaa @ 1920x1080 and I'd say my average frame rate is around 50+. Min somewhere around 40 max I've seen 70/80 but who cares about max.

I found the drivers and gave it another try. It runs better. I was able to max it out with 2xmsaa and stay over 40 fps on triple screens. Not too bad for a brand new game on triples. I imagine it will be running even better by release with a little more driver tweaking. I imagine you could do some inspector tweaking and get the AA to look better and gain a few FPS.

The game does run really smooth though, and has very, very little screen tear on my system with no vsync. I have to always run vsync and I think this is the first game I have came across where I really don't need it.

Glad you got it running well.

I really do need another 7950 for this game; the amount of foliage is just ridiculous. I need another card just to handle the AA on the grass lmao.

Played several games last night and the mp is still really not my thing. Too much like COD which I am not a fan of. My friend and I also got disconnected toward the end of our playtime and that was enough. But it is EA and we all know launch EA mp titles are rough for the first few weeks. The graphics have indeed taken a step backward from Crysis 2 on the 360. Much more grainy and pixelated compared to Crysis 2 mp.

I am however still looking forward to the single player campaign. I will rent it for sure just to check it out especially in 3d. I noticed the 3d option was there just greyed out in the mp demo.

Got to play the PS3 beta for a few minutes and then I lost connection twice. It's not supposed to looke like this is it? I just came from Crysis 2 on PC and I understand there is a difference between dx11 and PS3, but still. It's bad for being PS3 even. It's almost like a PS2 adjustment that has to be made playing this. Even so, the gameplay was more fun playing on PS3 than PC for some reason and I love the main menue music. It felt like a resonable shooter with old graphics.

Yes the graphics have taken a huge beating since Crysis 2 on the PS3 and 360. No one seems to have an answer for it either. For a company that is known for its graphics (Crytek), this is not a good sign at all for Crysis 3. I expect this game to bomb. Crysis 2 was great, I have no idea what the heck happened when they developed Crysis 3. I guess I will just plan on renting it for the campaign. Hopefully the campaign looks a lot better than the demo.

Do you always jump to the most inane conclusions possible based on nothing at all?

The game is going to bomb because the graphics, on a dated platform, aren't to your liking? Right.

This. You don't play a Crysis on the console for graffix.

Because of the graffix of the console version?

I gave it another go last night and can't see how anyone thinks this game is even decent looking on PC. I'm maxing it out and it looks like a game from several years ago. I just can't see how this is getting anyone saying it looks great. It''s really, really bland, and the textures are no where near as good looking as most AAA PC games that came out in the last 5 years. Everything just looks so flat and 2D. I can't imagine they used any tesselation at all on this.

I really do want to like this game, because I was excited to see what it looked like after the pre release videos they showed, but it is no where near the hype they made it out to be.

To me it looks like it should be a $20 on release day game. I'm shocked they would release it looking like this after all the claims they made about it.

To me it doesn't look like you play Crysis at all on anything for Graffix.

This will conclude my crysis 3 bashing. I'm just dissapointed in it and wanted a new game to set a high benchmark for others to follow.

Why so sensitive? Just because I stated an opinion does not mean I "always jump to the most inane conclusions possible based on nothing". If you read my previous replies you would see my statement wasnt just based on graphics. Unless you are just some blind fanboy, you would realise this game is not getting very good feedback. Crysis 2 demo and the full game were excellent. The graphics, the gameplay, just amazing. This is a step backward from Crysis 2.

I really was looking forward to this and had it pre-ordered. This demo is a step backward graphicially and the gameplay. You have to be blind not to notice. I will be renting this for the campaign. Just for the record, graphics have never been my top priority. Gameplay matters the most and this gameplay is a step backard. Its just an opinion and obviously we wont see eye to eye. Not a big deal. Sorry if your feelings were hurt. I wont reply again until I rent the full game.

Too much like CoD, disconnects and graphics.

Graphics.

Now, understand, I've no ill-will toward any of your complaints whatsoever. It's the wild accusation that it's going to bomb for whatever reason. I haven't played the beta and, quite frankly, I have no intention to do so as I could care less about MP in a game like Crysis.

Crysis 3 video views are low for which seems to be an official channel.

I don't like the look of crysis 2/3. Despite being good on paper they have resorted to a green yellow hue. Looks like a tired console game of either limited green, brown, yellow hues.

Anyway, the Crysis 2 mp beta looked a lot worse than the final single player game so I guess its the same here with C3 which I've not bothered with this time

I, for one, can't say the same. I've maxed it out, too, added the DX11 Tesselation pack and the high res textures and Crysis 2 looks pretty darn impressive. Better than, say, FarCry 3, for example. Or Hitman Absolution. And neither of these looks bad.

I would get what you're saying if it looked like, dunno, Skyrim or whatever. But it doesn't. At least not to me.

Anyways, in regards to the "Crysis 3 took a step back on consoles". Well, duh. The game's getting bigger in every regard and console hardware is so outdated in comparison to what you'd need to max out Crysis 3 that it's no wonder CryTek even had to scale it back from Crysis 2. If they actually did that, that is. But I agree with what has been said already: If you want to go graphic whorin', you don't get a console.

I was referring to crysis 3. I never played either of the other 2. You're right about skyrim though. I didn't think it was that good looking either. I was just expecting something along the lines of witcher 2 quality and this crysis is way behind that. They touted it as being a next gen game taking use of the latest PC hardware and it just doesn't look anything like they were claiming it would. I can't imagine how bad the console versions look. I was expecting the console version to look about like the PC version does.

Played the PS3 beta today and I kinda like it. I was never into Crysis but now I think I might give the full games a shot.

I think it looks pretty decent. Though the pop-ins were all to noticeable, especially shadows. It was also a bit blurry, but I only really noticed it in post-game menus. The framerates was ok also, though I could feel/tell it was dropping and it seemed like it was struggling. But hey, let us remember that we're dealing with 2006 tech.

As for the PC version, I'm sure it runs and looks better, but it seems that there are still graphical issues as I read the reviews, posts, etc.

I'm sure/hope that we'll see graphic revisions for the full game but I can live with it if it doesn't. My only real gripe is the bit of blurrines.

Because of the graffix of the console version?
PC players don't seem too happy either. Crysis was once synonymous with fantastic graphics and now it looks plain old and tired, at least on PS3. I heard the graphics for Crysis 2 on PS3 were really good (for being PS3). Gameplay is fun-ish but nothing special, so coupled with tired looking graphics it's a reasonable guess that it's going to bomb I say.
