Algodones Dunes in California?

Minus the tire tracks. :P

I'm aware. Perhaps the eye-roll emoticon didn't convey the sarcasm well enough.

My apologies. I thought you were being humourous (I was. ;) )

Have seen a few pictures taken by the orbiter; really sensational - look around the 'net for them. Also in the news - India plans to have a Mars orbiter by 2013.

I was partially serious too. I wouldn't put it past Obama to try and take the credit.

"Those scientists aren't special. They had teachers and schools and the Internet. Granted, 99.99% of the people who also had the same teachers and schools didn't do this, but that does not make these guys any more hard working and/or smart."

In actual Curiosity news, the team did an Ask Me Anything on Reddit today.

So that's what aliens are usually doing in the movies - vaporizing the environment to examine the proceeds for composition, and nothing sinister. ;)

Test went just like this:

Spectroscopy a la Bruce Willis.

No, they didn't go exactly like this.

Those pictures have already been digitally enhanced:

Oh goodie, so it might be sending back some dirty pictures? Or will the other censors cover the slack? Or will NASA censor them before releasing them?

I think he may have been getting at the fact that you used censor instead of sensor, but hopefully it won't do much to the photo's indeed, or the science :nervous:

Oh my bad, words like that tend to confuse me alot.:ouch:
It's a wind sensor apparently, which is nothing to do with Martians farting.

Described as an "isolated disappointment", or in non-technical speak, "no biggie".
Yea it was that!💡 Hope it ain't too bad for team NASA.

Another movement picture:

and another landing video:

In other Curiosity news, the landing site of MSL has been named in honor of the late Ray Bradbury. The area will be known as Bradbury Landing.
