Okay, will do. Silly question, but when I log onto Gold on the other console(s) one at a time, do I have to transfer (copy) the extra content onto the mem stick and copy it over to the other consoles that way, or can I somehow download it from M$ again just since I'm logged in?

No, just go to your account history and redownload. much easier. As long as you're logged on with your gold account you can redownload as many times as you want. I have 5 360s in my home and I have all the same content on all of them using this method.

UPDATE! Just bought a D-Box platform. should be here in a couple of weeks. I'll upload pics and video once I have it installed.

Looked very nice until I saw the extreme wobble in the steering wheel mount at about 0:16. Notice how the wheel wobbles up and down like a nutter... i'm glad the wheel in my car doesn't do that. lol
But again very nice that D-box, just wish they would fix that a bit better.

EDIT: are you talking about the rig in the video just above? dude I don't have that rig and thats not the rig I'm talking about. thats a Dbox rig that he posted. LOL

I have the VR3. And anyway, I'm watching that video again and I don't see any wobble. Me thinks that people are getting a little crazy with the "wobble" "center bar" stuff. When I autocross my car I am tossed around in the seat. Basically the steering wheel "wobbles" in my hands because my body is being tossed around essentially replicating what you're seeing in that video.

I think the base 2 actuator, a VR3, a G27, and the Dbox platform is $7900. Goes all the way to $10,000 I believe. Pretty much in line with everyone else selling Dbox. I think they're a little cheaper actually than Vesaro.

Ugh, still can't get my network or whatever it is causing mulitscreen issues w/ forza sorted. Tried a different switch, tried making content the same on all three hard drives, this stinks. My elite arrived last night and I didn't even get to hook it up since I was trying to sort out the triple screen. Now with the new switch the side screens just always say connecting but never connect.

Anyway, congrats on the dbox!

If you're using a switch or hub, are you still connected to a router that is serving up IPs? Or are you manually setting up your network? If so, you may want to double-check your IP/gateway settings.

Yeah, router w/ dhcp, connects to a downstairs 16 port gig switch and then out to various rooms. I had a cheap 5 port 10/100 in the basement room with the simulator, tried to replace with a dlink pro series 8 port, and used a new cable to connect back to main switch. No dice. Should I manually config the network settings on the 360's? Next step may be stringing a long cable up the stairs as a temp test to bypass the main 16 port switch...

Mike, you shouldn't br having these issues, this is a pretty simple procedure which
Ends me to believe it might be the way the equipment is set up or being used.

I would put this on its own dedicated 4/8 port Switch, not a hub or a switch with tons of other traffic. Remember your syncing graphics, very bandwidth heavy and relies on microsecond sync to function properly

Also super long cable runs are probably not helping.

Seems like you have the Xbox's set up correctly. Just take a deep breath and do everything slowly. We're here for you :)

Are you using any edge blending software? I know you recommended using a piece of white construction paper to cover the seams of the screens, which I will do. I don't have my monitor mount yet (should be in the mail this week) but I've been testing my projectors and I'm finding it quite difficult to get it perfectly lined up to where you cannot see an obvious line between screens. Yours seems to not have that problem from what I can see, so I'm assuming you are using edge blending software?

Guys wanted to update you. I finally took a video with the camera duct taped to my head. So forgive any crappyness. Also the Camera is far from HD. You will see banding and color shifting. This is not the case when you are playing. Its the fact that the camera can't capture the DLP projectors quickly enough and will show color shifting and banding. just wanted to clear that up in case it scares people from DLP projectors. They are magnificent, the picture an immersion is complete. :D

I duct tape the camera to a hat and used both my fisheye lens and a normal lens so as to give you two perspectives. I'll take more videos of Gran Turismo an PC with head tracking. Hopefully I will get a HD camera soon. Forgive the blurriness.

Let me know if you have any questions.

UPDATE! Just bought a D-Box platform. should be here in a couple of weeks. I'll upload pics and video once I have it installed.

Wow! That's just epic!
What's a D-Box?

I adjusted the screens to 52 degrees of rake. I think that's my final adjustment, now they're perfect. F12010/11 it feels like you're literally in the car. Track IR is huge and a big reason why I love it so much. The kinect and Sony eye are no where near as smooth, not even close.

Just an update on my situation- finally got triple running smoothly today. A present to myself, lol! Now tonight hopefully I can finally switch to my new Elite from the GT2, but first steps first, the three xbox consoles are finally talking to each other. I tried new switches, wiring directly to the ports on the router, even moving the router downstairs to be close by, but no dice. What finally did it was changing my host 360 (the only new 360 slim of tahe bunch) to wireless network. Must have been something with the wired network settings or hardware on that console, now with wireless (and the other two wired to a switch hanging off the wireless router), it's been flawless all afternoon. Ho Ho Ho!

Is there a thread somewhere that shows you how to do the actual physical setup of wiring in three xbox's or ps3's together with the switch, monitors & etc.??

From a Google search:
http://www.tri-dee.com/Sintra sheets information.htm

The store I bought mine from (San Francisco Area, Tap Plastics) has a site, but doesn't have anything useful on it about the material.

I bought mine locally as a 4x8' sheet. Cuts easily but there is static and plastic dust stuck to it when you are done. It is easy to clean though. It hangs nearly straight - straight enough for a projector. In the size you are using you might want to use some light bracing or backing to stiffen it a bit since it doesn't look like it will be hanging.

So the screen is about 100" and I am using an Epson 8530. There is a hot spot on the image but it isn't too bad. Overall it is bright enough in day light and just gets better as the light goes down.

Did you read about the different paints AVSforum developed for gain and color balance?

Redmalloc, can I get this thick enough so it stands on its own? How much does it weigh? I love the Wilsonart, but now with my Dbox and the heavy bracing on the back its just to heavy and moves all over the place due to inertia. If the Sintra is light then it will just move with the Dbox instead of flailing because of the heavy weight.

anybody have pics or video of their sintra screens?

D-box, nice if you like that kind of thing.
It is waay overpriced though but hope it adds great value and entertainment to your rig my friend.

Ive ordered "White Photography Background Material" for screens I will be building. It is rather cheap but yet to test if suitable.

Anyways being the creative type thinker I reckon I have got a great solution for my own using corner tv bracket mounts. Need to determine a size of board, cut mount this to the bracket (it holds over 70kg lol) and cover it with suitable screen material. Oh then going to add a 3" black border it frames it better (apart from the inside). Beauty is I can then fold the side screens out of the way into the side walls when not needed. Who's a clever boy eh?

You see what you've started now, lol.
Their I was content with my borders and triple 24" monitors.

Mayaman, Latte- mean to mention this sooner (sorry), but I wanted to share what I'm doing for screens. I too liked the idea of laminate and read up all about it on AVSForum. I tried ordering various samples as I wanted a gray to better match my center screen, which is rear projection plexi and therefore has a gray tint to it. Also gray screens tend to have higher contrast, and lord knows if I end up using the short throw Optoma projectors I have brightness to spare.

BTW- I got two Qumis @ Best Buy on their extended holiday returns grace period to try for the side screens, but looks like they are going back. They don't match the center Optoma (which has to be that due to the short throw needed to fit in my corner) and they need to sit way further back from my seat than I like. Amazing projectors for being so small though!

Anyway, back to the screen. I ended up getting a gray laminate I liked and looked (from the sample) to be pretty sheen and texture free. I'll check at some point what it was as I can't recall (Wilsonart, Formica, etc..) BUT, the key was, the people I bought it from were great. A local wholesale counter-top supplier, they were happy to send as many samples as I wanted, and when I decided which one, they cut it to size AND laminated it onto 1/4" MDF board. Turns out the 1/4" plus the thin laminate is the perfect size to fit pretty tightly in the slot of my 80/20 T-slot aluminum structure.

Best of all, it was cheap. I got two screen surfaces about 47" diagonal (with exta height at the bottom, which I will probably black off or put a logo on) for about $75 total cut and laminated and they sent it UPS for another ~$20. So anyway, my advice is don't mess with cutting and adhering laminate, let the pros do it. It's so easy and quick for them doesn't cost much at all.

@mayaman- not sure if I would ever want to invest in D-box (or do something more DIY like X-Sim, or if motion is just not for me), but I'm curious about your deal. I you know if such an opportunity is still out there @ a cut rate (or if it was just a one-off deal), PM me if you don't mind sharing the deets. Thx

Mike, I'll PM you later. The details aren't secret or anything, just some dude on Ebay who gave me a great deal.

I'm wanting to pic your brain about the screens. Like I said, I have the wilsonart and its brilliant, my pictures is fantastic. But it weighs a TON because its glued onto sub material and then it has metal bracing because when the Wilsonart is rolled, IT WILL NOT UNROLL NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! You have to glue it down.

So yeah, I will have to talk to you. Love the screens, but they are way to heavy now for the Dbox.
