That would be a nice collectible to own. 👍

I got my "Daft Club" CD in the mail today, and it says 2004, but sounds much more dated.

At first when Raikonen joined Lotus I was excited and all but this is just so cool! :D

Lotus F1 team is best F1 team! :D

It is isn't it. I mean, they just seem so down to earth, they make jokes about themselves and the other teams and do loads of cool stuff like this. 10/10. Best team ever.

I just wish I could get the hype. I've literally been a fan of electronic music for YEARS, yet I could never get into Daft Punk. It's not to say they haven't had some good songs, but for some reason I just can't comprehend what sets them apart from their counterparts.

Loving "Giorgio by Moroder". But still a bit dubious about the rest, can't say is bad, because is pretty good, however it does demand to be in a relaxed environment to be enjoyed, those moments seem to be more scarce lately though, is pretty much like The Division Bell or Wish You Were Here albums from Pink Floyd, which sort of come to mind while hearing this album.

I found the Daft Punk sponsorship on a Romain Grosjean car beyond ironic.

Push it. Run it. Race it. Update it. Crash it. Smash it. Roll it over...ROManOlogic.

I've heard a few singles from Daft Punk before, but their RAM album is rather relaxed and disco-y. It's pleasant for that, but I can't help but feel that the scrambled electronic voicebox lyrics (which is the norm for most of their songs) gets a little tedious/overused. Can't say I'm disappointed, since I know they've always been a bit more retro, and do their own thing. Which it is; so it essentially met an expectation that wasn't really there.

Something different, but it's (not) my electronic cup of tea...although, I mostly drink coffee and energy drinks. Tea's nice on occasions.

How does their new album sound on CD? I heard it sounded REALLY good on vinyl, but I don't have a record player. If the CD is brickwalled/muddled I might buy the 24-bit 88.2khz hi-rez digital release.

Unless you have B&W 800s, you're not going to tell the difference. And it's mostly club-like disco-ish music (save 1 or 2 tracks) so don't worry about it.

Guy-Man's lookin' fat.

He's actually just pretty built/buff:

btw, I agree that the vocoder's on the overused side.

It's kind of annoying on a few tracks.

Favorite track this week: Doin' it right.

I hate Animal Collective, but I feel like PB's contribution to this track really made it. Such an amazing little ensemble.

Just move the camera a bit higher.

A. Bit. Higher.

What Omnis said, the CD isn't brickwalled (although it is more punchy than the vinyl judging from needle drops), the only reason I went for the studio master was because it's (currently) cheaper than buying the CD/downloading from iTunes and it sounds pretty much the same as the vinyl transfers I've been listening to (minus the slight hiss from the record itself). It's a great sounding album regardless of what medium you buy it in. Will buy the vinyl later though, just because the artwork is cool and it's a gatefold.

So you did end up getting the 24/88.2 hi-rez version then? I think I will end up buying it as I have a discount code for HDTracks that I can use until the end of the day today. I like having the hi-rez versions anyway because then I won't have to rebuy them if the market ever shifts to 24-bit music and I can cut a CD from them if I want (although they'd be downsampled to 16/44.1 then).

Yeah, I got it on offer for 9.99 EUR at Qobuz, though you need to email support to unlock your account since the site is French.

Doin' it Right's stuck in my head, and I like it. If vocoder's that vocal effect thing, I actually wish they used it more.

Overall, I like the new album more I listen to it.

Scared to click.

Why? In fact. Just for you ill get the photo itself :)

"Fragments of Time" is very much stuck in my head. Their plan has worked.
