I can't dictate what players do, but I try to leave an impression that I was a fair racer in other player's eyes.
PD calls that "not looking bad"
S @Mistah_MCA ’s race the other night was really fun!!
No it bloody wasn't !

My birthday.Your alt account is May 6? And shouldn't that Toyota have Honda badges?
When I get on the gas exiting a corner, sometimes it's as if the diff locks in such a way as to prevent the car from turning. about three times in the last week, I slowed to enter a corner and exited the way I normally would, but the car would start to turn, then just straighten out somewhat and I would go right off track.
Just me?
That happened to me about 3 times on Interlagos and once on Suzuka. I thought my controller was shot
I may be imagining it, but I think that Suzuka has quite a bit less traction than some of the other circuits. I especially find I'm sliding around on it a surprising amount after I've run a few races at some of the "original" circuits. You are not alone with Suzuka. I know the track reasonably well and am more afraid of it than DT Seaside for some reason. I just get blown out of the way by everyone else when we are there. Not by pushing or punting, just seem to have it all wrong
Even if they're half a second back I find that to be at least a 75% chance of an SR down due to "brake checking".....Perhaps hug the right wall while the ones behind line up for the dive and brake early to let em shoot ahead. Of course with multiple cars behind :/
Or match rooms by slowest quali times. That way all the no qualifiers would be in the same race, ranked by DR score...Simple solution - stop no qualification entries from being allowed. Granted, next thing the same drivers will do ultra slow Q times and we'll have races to see who can go round the track the slowest in qualifying but it would be a move in the right direction.
As I said above, I'm fairly sure Suzuka has a lower traction setting than most tracks.I tried the Audi R8 and the GT-R in Suzuka - and its just constantly sliding around, the Audi more so than the GT-R (which I had great success with in St. Croix).
Also - do you take 130R in Suzuka at full speed? Maybe I am just too timid going through there or I am not taking the right line, but I always get the feeling, if I don't brake, I will run wide or lose the car.
Was I imagining it, or was that a a brake check after he got his penalty?
I was fully expecting you to get a 3sec penalty for "ignoring track limits" and another 4sec for "colliding with another car".
Nice score! There were a few 86's in the one race I managed. May give it a go...after I set up my alt account.*shhh*
I suppose the point is, no quali is fine so long as you are willing to race as you describe. Too many I see end up barging past as though they have divine privilege.
@Invisigoth I don't let faster cars pass without question however if it is obvious that they are so fast that it is only a matter of time that they will pass me and it's too far from the end to defend reasonably I'll let them by and try to draft them for as long as possible. Too often "over defending" leads to either a crash or so much time lost that the cars that were 1 or 2 seconds behind catch and you lose even more places.
Interlagos is my favorite, but the Ferrari is not the right car.
Here is a fun clip of this guy wanting to take the inside as we go into the Senna S's. I was already there but he insisted, and I let him go ...
(Can someone tell me how to do a GIF?)
I'm happy to see people competitive with the '86. I was going to try it last night but figured it was just too under powered. Is it safe to say that the strategy with the 86 is to not stop and pick off drivers as they pit? How is the tire wear?Alt account. This is crazy. B/S room. I started last no qualy. A Slophy and another 86, we all gave room for the first 3 laps. As we caught cars in the pack, all heck breaks loose. Diverse group of cars, but it's like the higher up the grid I went, the more defensive players got. Looking in the mirrors so much and being too late on the brakes. Never mind setting fast qualy times, when race craft should be the main focus.

For 130R, I watched a replay for Monday's number one Oceania region qualifier (GT-R) and he takes it same as lowly me (currently DR-C in a '16 RC-F). No brakes, but lift the throttle right off a bit before turn in. How far will depend on speed, skill, your turn in timing and your car choice.
Nope. Neither Suzuka nor Interlagos did anything for my DR and I am down almost 6k points since that high 2 weeks ago.

Seeing as there’s no FIA races this week, I guess I’ll do some Daily Races tonight. Unless anyone’s interested in a one off NASCAR style event using Gr3 cars? @Mistah_MCA ’s race the other night was really fun!!
Let us know a date and time, I’ll be there. Did ya’ll use Blue Moon or Northern Isle?
so he'd share his sour grapes.

It may not be the same thing, but typically when I get that feeling, I usually chalk it up to the game simulating understeer.
I started 6th last night in the Ferrari, got up to 2nd behind an Aston but couldn't get closer than a half second behind him. I stopped for tires on lap 6 and he stopped on lap 7. I had a 3 second lead on him when he exited the pits....he caught me in a lap and passed me like I was tied to a tree. I was shocked that he was able to be that much faster on fresh tires considering I could hang with him prior to stopping.
I think you mean apples.
This morning, I remembered a nice trick at Interlagos, that I had forgotten about because it's been quite a while since I've raced there. You probably already know about this one.
I got run off and bumped off a couple times with no penalty for the offender of course, but luckily also no SR Down for me. I had to avoid a bunch of dive bombs throughout the race as well as people taking short cuts, always nice to see them coming from far away. So I only made up 2 positions in the end (actually more, but lost them again while avoiding) but kept the clean race bonus in this
