Just got the ft-1 down to a 32.7 . I definately prefer it over the supra. Annoyingly on the next lap I went some 3 tenths faster in sector 1 but couldn't get the rest of the lap right so there's a 32.4 in there.

If you have not tried it....you must.

Having all sorts of issues with the last chicane, I'm either slow or I bin it compared to other SB/SA driver.

Edit 32 not 31.7!!

Unless it’s already mapped you have to map "Overtake" to a button of your choice. Go to Options in the top left corner and then head to the Controllers tab.
Thank you, Sir! I had not mapped the button. I didn't even know that was possible.

Much appreciation for telling me how to do it.

Which car is this?

I haven't tried Race C yet. But, I'm guessing when I do I would likely want to use the boost button.

Problem is, I don't know how to use it.

Would anyone tell me how?

After you map it, use it for acceleration in low gears and not at top speed. Pick your battles. Some people use it all up early, others save it for the end, while another option is to use little bits throughout. The back straight is a good spot when you are close to the car in front and they don’t have slipstream from another car.

Great advice. Thank you. I'm a little hesitant but I'm going to try this race.

Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo Gr.3

I have to thank you again! Love this community

All I can say is keep your damn META Supra, I’ve got a Corvette.

First, congrats on your 41st victory. That's phenomenal to me. I'm still searching for my first podium.

Second, I respect someone for sticking to their favorite car and getting it done and that video was terrific. Is there a secret to shifting with the Corvette because I would love to use it but I'm not fast in it?

Race B

The drivers behavior in EMEA server is worst than America's

I'm talking about my last two races there

I'm back to America for now
Saw you in a couple of races. At least you were at the sharp end of the grid - it was pretty bumpy where I was starting, near the back of the grid!

Despite that, I made up places in every race, and got my SR up from B to S :)

Today I found myself in a race C with a driver I have previously had considerable trouble with and had stern words in post-race chat several times. Nothing was said pre-race, I started on pole, he was q4. Through T1, the esses and degner I was between 0.5 and 1 secs in front of the bunch. At the hairpin this absolute dirtbag came from 3 deep and punted me, at full speed, into the sand. Over the next 2 laps he made it his only focus to punt, brake check and sideswipe me non-stop. When he arrived at the penalty zone on lap 2 he had amassed 15 seconds of penalties. He then sat in the pits for the remainder of the race. This was utterly rage inducing, but the real kick in the teeth was that I got reset as a result of his behavior because several brake checks resulted in penalties for me. I reported him at the end of the race, but I know nothing will happen. His punishment was that he dropped to D/E but that won’t be any kind of deterrent.

There needs to be proper consequences for idiots who behave like this. It ruins the enjoyment for those of us who actually want to race rather than ruin other people’s fun. If there is anything that will make me stop playing this game, it is this kind of experience.

First day back on the rig since Monday, first time I've quit out of a race for a good couple of weeks.

Signed up for Race C with 20 minutes to spare so hunkered down and worked away at dropping my quali time (mission success a 1.39.5!)

Got into the race, qualified 10th and thought I was on to a good race.

Everything just goes wrong almost immediately with 2 cars false starting and a pile up happening on the start finish. I get tangled up in this and end up coming round the first corner in 16th.

Racing, racing, racing, I'm back up to position 10 by lap 4. (I'm thinking this may be salvageable)

Go into the the pits and change me tires and get caught in some back traffic. Which was the real beginning of the end, get break checked on the first corner and all the way through the esses, so I'm getting more and more frustrated, I've worked hard to get back into position and now I'm stuck behind someone who hasn't a clue, disaster.

Degna 1 comes around and the game gets powered off, you can't fit 2 cars around Degna 1, I'll tell you now so you don't fall into the same issue.

Im fast and I know I can be even faster. Really need to work on some overtaking techniques and keeping my cool, get so frustrated with this sometimes.

Edit:

Ive been reset now so back to climbing my way to B. I can't be arsed fighting the penalty system and I can't be arsed racing slower people.

13/15. One 458, NSX, GT-R, WRX and my AMG GT. Everyone else are Supras.

Edit: A/S alt. 13th to 10th. AMG is fast and stable. Digging this car.
GT-R ahead of me was a bit quicker than the Supras and NSX ahead of it. GT-R did a couple divebombs as the players do a wide entry for the back hairpin. I clear the NSX after the GT-R makes the "pass".

GT-R dives on another Supra, but doesn't work out as it losses it and spears off, stage left. Lost ground to the P9 Supra, but I build a gap to the cars behind. No dramas.

C is hard and nothing like other races. Practice till your close to a reasonable time and take it easy. A little mistake makes a huge difference, can be as much as a second for just a corner never mind a section so it's really hard to be safe all the time. I'm enjoying it now I can hit the 1:40s and be fairly consistent, but even now I try not to race people faster than me, let them by and try to keep up. Watch out for dirty air as it makes a huge difference and watch some of the good players to get some idea of the braking points. First corner for example has the cones at the entrance to the corner, but most are braking virtually on the apex. Just be careful and have fun.

Thank you. The first piece of advice is practice. All of the info we share will be useless if you don’t know how the car reacts to your input. Second, you can look in game under the Discover tab on the main screen & see options of what people share. Could be anything from single decals for a livery, to entire liveries for a car, & even full replays of races. There is a search tab at the top of the screen & you can search for specific keywords. For mine, it’s usually “nostopn”, without the quotes. I have 3 accounts that I use my name in when I share a race. When watching a replay, hit the X button & a menu appears. Move the arrow over to the gear icon & on that pop up box, click the bottom option & display all info. This shows you the info of the car (RPM, gear, TCS activity, etc.). But, some things don’t show in the replay, like someone’s choice of brake balance. I’ve been qualifying & racing the Corvette with a -1 BB. With this race having no tire wear, I’ve been asking the front tires to do more work in slowing the car down. Another reason people choose the car that they do is because it will rotate in the corners. Some cars act like they won’t turn & want to plow into the outside wall. The Supra & Corvette like to rotate. It’s very important for the last, slower chicane on each lap. Don’t focus on the right hand part of that chicane, the left part is the important bit to stay on track.

Edit 32 not 31.7!!

like you i vastly prefer the FT1 , with the supra i just couldnt go under 32.6 , 3 laps with the FT1 got it down to 32.3

I have amazingly enough had good races in B in the Huracán! This is a car that normally tries to kill you even before you get in...
Smooth is fast in the Lambo... Even when you have to fake someone to get pass. This guy in the Beetle was moving a little side to side not making a clear pass possible. So a little fake to the inside and I can go around outside.
He ran me off afterwards in the hairpin but more a racing incident than something malicious.

Daily Race B has been fun. Did a lil bait and switch trick on this one since the guy behind me really wanted that third place.

And I continued recovering my lost DR and SR but now I'm closing in to fully recovering my DR and SR thanks to Daily Race B. Just have to stay out of trouble and I should be fine.

Maybe after a certain number of penalties (thinking 6-8 seconds) your car should be ghosted and not be allowed to affect anyone else in the race? Your finishing results should be affect as well (say no better than 15th). Maybe this would discourage such rotten behavior? Just thinking out load for someone to hear (ahem PD!).

I am generally finding Race B pretty clean, SR staying above 80 and DR rising fast too after the rest last week. Though as an A driver it is easier to get reset now

It is very hard to pass though, fun track but very hard to pass.

Did a couple of race B. First one, started 10th, finished 3rd & second consecutive CRB. Second race, improved my QT, & started 4th. All I can say is keep your damn META Supra, I’ve got a Corvette. :sly: Also, people need to learn to stop blocking. :mischievous:

Where was the block? Way I see it, you had a half baked run into the tight left but barely had your nose past his bumper and he rightfully took the racing line. He never swerved or changed lines. Then you punted him at the next corner.

Realistically, vigilante justice is all there is. The game will do nothing consequential about it.
Put the word out to your friends. Let the people here know who this dirtbag is.
There are plenty of us who would be more than happy to give the jerk a taste of his own medicine. :mischievous:

I don't race dirty, and try to let racing mistakes go. I will defend my position, but don't block. I might come on to the front straight at Suzuka and run down the right side wall to make you go outside. I might even "push" you over to the left to get closer to the racing line, which is where you should want to be anyway. I will never make contact while doing that, so if you don't budge, we both have a bad line. If you pressure me from behind, fine. If you start hitting me in ever brake zone, and tap me mid corner to send me wide, or off, I will catch up and return the favor. I am not an expert at being dirty without getting a penalty, but I do learn, and if you repeatedly hit, block, or otherwise screw up my race, which due to time constraints might be the only race I can do that day, I WILL finish dead last, just to make sure you don't do much better. BTW, I have yet to rage quit a race. Take me out, put me in last 20 seconds down, and I will do my best to catch up and gain position. I don't quit...I race!

An eye for an eye makes everyone blind. I will admit to getting revenge, but I do try to take every game as a new case. Maybe they had a bad day or some jerk did bad things and they mistakenly take it out on you. I have had chats with people and we've settled what could easily escalate into war with the wrong attitude.
This doesn't help with the very small minority that simple don't care, but sometimes a calm chat can actually make things a little better. Ganging up on someone though iss going to make for bad racing and it's bound to spill over and muck up other peoples games too.

I saw it with my own eyes, but still can’t believe it! :)

Yep. Truly the Wild West.

Fair and tough, as all should be.

An eye for an eye makes everyone blind.

Not if they are dead. Lol

Edit in daily races it’s the Wild West. If you don’t do something no one will and dirty play will always win. Plus other players won’t respect you if they know you won’t do anything when they shove you. Sad fact. Ever read Jack London?

“He had learned well the law of club and fang, and he never forewent an advantage or drew back from a foe he had started on the way to Death. He had lessoned from Spitz, and from the chief fighting dogs of the police and mail, and knew there was no middle course. He must master or be mastered; while to show mercy was a weakness. mercy did not exist in the primordial life. It was misunderstood for fear, and such misunderstandings made for death. Kill or be killed, eat or be eaten, was the law; and this mandate, down out of the depths of Time, he obeyed.”

I’ve been playing NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered on the side. Can’t help but be perplexed by how clean and respectfully people tend to race in that game, where it would only benefit them to force you off the road or into a traffic car. But in GT Sport, a racing game that clearly has rules, you get imbeciles like what @D_Dragline encountered, who will go out of their way to wipe you out and ruin your experience, even at their own expense. I ran into a few myself.

Of course, there are immature players in every online game, but it’s just bizzare witnessing this kind of shift in behavior and it not being what you’d logically expect it to be. You’d think the dirty drivers would be drawn more to the game that doesn’t punish taking people out.

I guy tried to pull that stuff the other night, as I was coming up behind him he was blocking and ramming everyone around him, dive bombing with intent of running people off track and all. When I caught him, I ran him off track 2 or 3 times, then I slowed down to wait for him to rejoin, but after the last one he quit before rejoining the track. There is no need of that stuff, and I’ll deal with those people accordingly every single time.

That race starts at 1:25.27, he’s the Red car if I remember correctly, starting in 8th place.

That name is too fitting name for that guy. It almost can’t be coincidence.

One more thing. If you play mostly for immersion, like me or others who’ve gotten so into it to build setups etc to help on the immersion, and then you play, and the rooms dark, and you are fully immersed, and you see in mirror a dirty dive headed your way, and you get contacted, number one it’s like being physically assaulted. The ffb violently reacts, the car slides, at that moment you ARE a racecar driver and THEN you see the guy get ahead and THEN you get sr down?!
It’s a pretty darned emotional experience sometimes, very jarring.
You are going to react especially if it happens repeatedly, if you don’t imo you’re not very immersed.
It might be hard to understand why when you play certain players react different to contact if you’re not an immersion player.

Considering the rate at which I caught up to him in the chicane, I was going to attempt the pass. I first went to the left to attempt, he moved over. I then moved right, he tried to block. I even twitched a little more right & was almost (possibly 2 wheels) into the grass. He was hell bent on me not getting past him even though I had momentum. He turned across my nose. After that, we had nothing to do but let the penalty system decide. It handed out no punishment.
