Tried the AMG on my main account, room too fast, car too slow, still beat a few because I didn't go off the track, maybe worth using in lower DR rooms because it's safe, main job is to avoid any penalties. :nervous:

Vantage still good but not dominant, I'm getting there with it.

:gtplanet::cheers:

The SR deductions at Monza are ridiculous, lost about twenty in one race.
Have had a scrappy few races to start off the week, hoping for better soon!

Having real trouble getting my SR back up to 99, never had any problems until the turn if the year and now I’m stuck in the doldrums! So frustrating

Monza will probably be my go to this week, want to give the rally a go but fear a reset!

These were my optimal times after 5 laps in each;

Vantage: 1:47.635
Corvette: 1:47.929
Ford GT: 1:48.112
McLaren F1: 1:48.210
DBR9: 1:48.227
Mustang: 1:48.303
RS.01: 1:49.054

I didn't try the GTR or AMG. The RS.01 felt very slow and VERY unstable. The second chicane is a lottery with it. I'm sure better drivers will find a way to make it super fast.
Welp, C7s, Vipers and Mustangs are at the top in Oceania.

Edit: I'm 2.2 seconds slower, in the DBR9, than the P1 C7.
Edit2: I was using the RM.
Edit3: There is a glitch in tyre choice. Careful.

I did one Asia race. Corvette C7 took four of the top five places. In the Top QT times the GT-R is favored. We will see how long that lasts.

There are no Vantages in the top 10 and none were entered in the race. No Supra's either.

EDIT: @D_Dragline is reporting success in his Vantage.
EDIT2: @ASH32 reporting progress with the Vantage.

Looks like the nerf of the vantage worked, it was just too fast and turned races like this into a one make. Now it seems more varied on the grid. Wonder if the Lexus can compete with better turn in and tyre wear?

So FFs are basically dead, especially TT , it was fun while it lasted ,
I beat a TT with the WRX. AWD corner exit acceleration just killed it. However, a freakin RCZ tries to outbrake the TT at T1 and runs into my driver's door. I'm talking from waaayyyy back! I dropped to 3rd. Caught the RCZ(with its 4 second penalty for the contact) after the Dunlop sign and ran it wide two corners later.

Chased down the TT on the final lap. Made up so much time after the 130R. Caught I at the final corner sequences. Drafted it's bumper to the line for FL.

Don't be skirred of those FFs. Used, the NSX, F-TYPE, Genesis, WRX, Cayman and 86. 86 is the slowest. Can't catch anything on the straights.
Cayman is strong with brakes and cornering.
NSX is strong and I overtook an RCZ with the draft.
No worries in the F-Type. Dropped my qualy to the 44 second range. Got a win from Pole. Also FL in the 44 second range.
Genesis was another big surprise. Set my fastest qualy for the evening. .3 quicker than the F-Type. Another win from Pole, with FL 45 flat.

It's been pretty brutal in race C so far this evening and my SR has taken a hit down from S to B /sigh. Perhaps I should have just done race A after all as at least I wouldn't have any expectations of a clean race in that one. Guess I am spending my evening trying to repair the damage.

I did switch up to the Nissan GT-R as it just feels better to me than the Corvette but I still can't shake that feeling that I am driving through treacle as everything still feels so slow compared to last week.

I had a race C where a Mitsubishi apparently had a beef with me. First he fought the corvette in front of me then he fought me. Brake check, sideswipe and bump from rear. So I ran him off at rerifilio 2. Really bad race, managed to law out two spots but was bad. Still SR up from 45 to 50.
Then another race, a few taps along the way but no penalties apart from a .5 track limit.
Started at p8, undercut by putting for mediums on lap 3, finished p4 but p3 got a minute for tires (he also was weaving all over the straights, both blocking and trying to break slip) so I got a podium and gained 5 spots
SR down to 45??!
Stupid system. PD is killing the game with their own system.

Another hour of work, and then try my hand at Monza and maybe start getting a feel for Fuji. Did some hotlapping at Monza for practice yesterday and was 1:50.xxx with several different cars, best lap was 1:48.8xx in the Vette. Is arcade mode TT with BOP on, correct (medium) tires and shortcut penalties strong valid practice for Q?

I know I left time out on the track and am aiming for consistent 1:48.3 or lower before I start racing.

I know those aren't top times, but 133.451 was good enough for several poles and mostly top 5 in B last week, so hoping a low 1:48 will be competitive enough for good racing.

You can turn BoP on in arcade mode, just make sure suspension, lsd, areo and gears are defaulted.
Set the penalties to their strictest levels in the race settings menu at the top left of the screen and you will be good to go 👍

Well those were 3 fun races. :D

Race A. Even though I was 6-7 seconds off the pace with what I thought was a decent lap I still was 5th on the grid. The first few corners were fine. I was able to grab third and heading into the tight hairpin after the lake I was predictably tapped. This put me into the mid pack. Eventually was able to find space and those in front and behind were lapping the same. 2 went wide into the turn 3 allowing me up the inside. However in this race going wide is still as fast and there was a slight kiss to my left rear. Guess who got a penalty? Yup. Only 1 second. Even though there was someone right up my chuff when I served it I was still out ahead. The zone probably should be moved. On the last lap I was in 6th on the back straight the two guys ahead were fighting. They both shot into the barrier at the right turn (one clipping the bails). I got past the ghosts and into 4th. The radar showed a pack on my heels through the timber area, but they ended up fighting and I had a comfortable cruise around the last corner. When done cleanly as most of this was from my view it was really fun. And the Scooby goes around here much better than a Group B car which oversteers for days.

Race B. I tried a few laps with the McLaren. I just didn't feel comfortable. I decided to hop in the 458 and it was vastly more stable, though maybe not as good on the brakes. I went 1.2 seconds faster so decided to enter with it. Due to the sun placement I could not see the boards on the entry to TGR so it was mostly guesswork, which seemed to work out for me as I hit the apex every time. I started 3rd. The two guys ahead pulled away a bit but 2nd place got a penalty. (Corner cut at Coca Cola I think) I managed to close in on him out of Advan as he had gone wide through Toyopet 100R. I decided I wasn't close enough for a dive into Dunlop and wanted to wait for the PZ. The Russian behind wasn't having it. He barrelled into P2 and used him as a brake. (Penalties do not exist in Russia.) He was fast but that move was nasty. I did keep up with him for a lap but eventually he pulled away by a second. I caught up with him towards the end of lap 4 but it was too late and a 3rd was mine. Decent result and a CRB for my troubles. Also I was rewarded with the DR B! So out of C once again.

Race C. I love Monza but obviously I cannot get runs out of the chicanes as my times are always a little slower here. I went for the Corvette. It seemed to not like the Rettifilo. Either too slow and touched the inside kerb of the right sending me wide with a wiggle or I touch the inside kerb on the left giving me oversteer. I did seem to be better than others in the race out of Lesmo 2. Anyway I started 14th so put the hards on first. Turn 1 and everyone seemed to want to take it sensibly as I saw arrows back off early on my radar. I looked like I might be able to sneak around the outside. Between the corners I felt the tap and took a trip to the beach. I was able to keep her facing forwards but I was down to 17th. Penalties and spins abound and I soon found myself into the top 10. There was one moment I got worried. I was racing the Italian just ahead and it distracted me from the braking zone. I did tap him but thankfully not much. I was expecting 4 seconds to flash up but all I got was the orange arrow. Just bemuses me, no doubt if I had lightly touched them with an atom of bumper I'd have got the penalty but not when my misjudgement properly taps them? I pitted for mediums on lap 4. I kept up my forward momentum on those having troubles ahead whilst I kept in on the black stuff. Eventually finished 5th. Nobody who finished got a tyre penalty which I have never seen before in a daily. Fair play to every one involved.

So ended up gaining 3,529 DR and 3 SR in a supposed death week. No doubt I'll see the other side tomorrow.

There are some definite tips and tricks to a fast line in race A, but taking the wrong line also often works as a good defense since it is hard to keep the speed after the turn if you have to take evasive action. Still a load of fun and need to really nail which gears I use.

With the dirt race, Fuji and Monza this is definitely a week where SR will be coming at a premium though.

Well after my stunning win at race C, I beat the other guy by 20 secs and would have got CRB if I had braked at the chicane when I left the pits :banghead::banghead:, it's just been terrible, SR loss every game and I got reset to D/E. OK partly my fault for getting revenge, but it's fun. So now I can do any race without a care and they're all fun this week. I really suck at A and need to get better at Monza so a learning week with loads of crashes I think. Going to try and not retaliate even with the really bad ones.

I always start on a Monday without setting a qualifying time to enjoy a few races from the back and then set a time on Tuesday. I usually see what car tops the times and just try it out.

I only did 2 B races in the McLaren, thought I was enjoying the driving if and doing ok so just before I shut up shop for the night idecided to do a few qualifying laps. I always try to get within 5 sec of the top times on my first lap and then push harder. I was happy enough after a few laps so tried a few other cars and got close to the time I set in the McLaren. I was going to stay away from the RCZ given that there didn't seem to be anyone using using if but I decided to try it before shutting down. Straight off I was almost 2 seconds faster which I didn't expect.

My question is, do you think a car can suit your driving style? I have had more success in the RCZ than any other car, I also know that tend to push too hard and loose time as when I do manage to put the time in and practice I get faster because I flow through the corners and not scrubbing speed off by understeering. Maybe i need to spend more time not loosing time this way,
