The F-Type and RX-V are my two new favourites, and the RSR is a long-time favourite, so I'll be happy with this race I think!

How would the RS.01 or 650S stack up here? Still too slow to compete??

I haven't used either of them this week or for a long time so I've no idea where they are at performance wise.

:gtplanet::cheers:

Doing Aston for FIA so just going to use them for everything unless they really suck. Since I'm not anywhere near the top guys the car I do well in is usually better than whatever the META is.
Vantage should be pretty good here, as it is a pretty good all rounder. I'm going with Jag and thinking the F-Type will be decent here too.

Had two great races, then the curse of "One more race before bed" stroke...
The first two I had some great battles with two clean British drivers, crashtestdope and another named something like K1sser. Great racing, clean respectful but hard. If you guys are one here: I'll race with you anytime!

I had Crashtestdope in my Fuji race below. Afterwards he seemed annoyed at another Brit. I can't remember which car he was in but I don't think I had an issue with him. Glad to see clean drivers get recognition.

And The evo sounds way better, :), got the best sound in the game imo , hopefully it will be kind of competitive around gardens so i can park the beetle

Park it for the noise alone. Whenever I'm near one I get the urge to punt it so I can rid myself of the noise.

How about unghost a car when it’s up to speed and not when it’s considered back on track? No ? Fine

That was perfect timing by the ghost system. Then you became the filling in an Oreo sandwich.

Feeling tired after being up late last night (I wonder what I was doing again... ;):D) I decided to just do race's A&B as they were sprint.

Race B. Started 14th and made my way up thanks to penalties and others hitting each other off. Then this happened. 2nd time this week.

Is it too far for me to say the nudge was deliberate? Back to DFL and thanks to the others fighting I manage to claw back to 10th. Still gained SR which is really what I was after.

I hadn't done A since Monday so I knew I could do a better Q time. I knock a couple of seconds off but still get 7th on the grid. But the others aren't too far ahead. So fellow B drivers ahead, and E's behind. :scared: I can't go backwards in this race. Get a decent start and a Spainard ahead gets a penalty and quits at the end of the lap. It's a good race with a Swiss guy but he pushes me too close inside on the long left after the hairpin. I mount the bump and fly a bit. No harm done thankfully. I wasn't too happy with that but stay on his tail. Lap 3 I get a decent run on them along the back straight(ish) and slot it up the inside (a bit more forceful than I'd normally be). This puts them a little wide but alls fair in racing and I take the position. Now in 5th. Coming into the last part of the last lap I see a Greek gain a 3 second penalty ahead and cross the line 5th and promoted to 4th. Decent race and glad to see cleaner stuff at the end of the week. I gain SR from the race (I thought that wasn't in the script.)

That makes sense. I might jump in the RSR and the get some more miles in the RX V...

I've realised I was thinking of Seaside not Gardens... Gardens is definitely more of a handling track now I think about it.
I was thinking Seaside too, so no COD to worry about just those stupid sausages. Sticking with Aston unless I'm too slow as I still feel that forcing myself to use one car all through the season should really help my results in FIA. Especially now I have people to beat.

Which Gr3 cars are quickest round Dragon Trails? We looking at Corvette, Aston Vantage and GT-R again?

No doubt the 2016 GTR will be quickest at RBR... ?

I just did some time trials at DTG. For me, the R8 was about a tenth faster than the Aston. But both were quite a bit faster for me than anything else I tried. It's Gr3, drive whatever's the most comfortable for you.

People are really starting to complain about pens and SR drops in race C. Last game
Start 20
Finish 17
pens 19
SR down 9
SR up 8
And the guy who didn't get a pen still went down. Don't think I've been above 50 today sitting at 41, but that's after a fairly clean race so a bump of 4 points. That's the problem, an average game can lose you 20-30 easily and a bad game far more, but getting more than 10 points up seems rare when every slight touch is a SR down. Hope this update has something pen related, total removal of the thing would be my vote. Yes it could be bad having no pens, but could it be worse than this?

Just a thought, that should maybe be in another thread....

what do you guys think if PD made weekly race “C” more FIA-style in the sense with damage and such. Therefore there would be more consequences for both parties with bad driving. Leave FIA style qualifying out of it though.

this way, race “C” could be the most realistic race out of the 3.

what says ye?

Unfortunately the damage system was created by a 5 year old. Light damage repairs itself and has little effect most of the time. Heavy damage needs fixed, but you crash at the end of the lap it's not a big issue, at the start of a lap it could be game over. If it was a nuanced, cumulative system like TOCA had over 20 years ago it would be great.

Yep, Group 2 is a one make series at this point. I don't mind it, at least everyone's on an equal footing.

Wouldn't mind a 'Race D' in GT7 that ran once an hour with iRacing-style quali where everyone gets two laps by themselves and then a 40ish minute race with damage on. Take the qualification slipstream game out of the picture and you'll get more representative grids...

I personally think it would be cool if they did an audible with daily race A, and made it group 3 (or whatever) with the view locked into cockpit mode!

I don't understand the mentality of some drivers at Monza

Driver with QF laps of 1.48 (i.e. good drivers not newbies) trying to straight line through the first chicane!
So they reset themselves and maybe another driver to boot. What is the endgame here?

Scored a win from P5 at Monza for my last race of the week, and I've been driving the AMG all week so I'm glad I've been relatively successful in a non-meta car.

Aggressive defending is a death sentence at this circuit. If someone has the slipstream on me and tries to take the inside, I just let them have it. More often than not, they'll either outbrake themselves, cut the chicane and get a penalty, or take too much kerb and lose it on the exit. I just take the normal racing line and slot in behind, and usually end up ahead before the next lap.

Someone in my last race was seemingly mad that I wasn't defending and bump drafted me on the main straight for some reason (it really is dirty driving if it's not an oval, because then I have too much speed going into the chicane and can easily miss my braking point) so I gave them a nice brake check to slow myself down, because this isn't NASCAR, even if it is the NA Region.

I'll certainly be in the Lexus. The infield will favour it's more nimble footing. And my liveries are for that car..

Glad to see clean drivers get recognition.

Still trying to get SR up, looks like next week wont be much better for that. Ended the week on a high note. Solid race, good pace. Probably my fastest of the week.
Might loose it running Fuji next week. I'll see.

Players are so scared of the divebombing, they don't turn their car when the corner comes up. TWICE! A Scirocco is in the braking zone after the Dunlop sign. I'm on the inside way back and I have a car on my left. I'm not going to divebomb. I'm just holding my line. The dang player ahead doesn't turn the car in. I have to eveade and take myself out. Please, for the loive of Pete.... just take the corner!

Hot Hatches for Race A

GTI
Clio
208
DS3

Edit: Used the 208. 4th to 2nd. GTI has good acceleration. Might be the DSG(if that's what the default transmission is). Anyway, the 208 is good everywhere. DS3 seems to be the favorite. Couldn't catch me on the straights, even in the tow. A couple of Clios, but they weren't really in the race. It was just a three-way battle with the VW/Citroen/Pug.

Love DTG. Using the Mustang instead of the RC F. Huracan is quick in the corners. The MOustang makes it all up on the straights and T2- DRagon Trail Seaside hairpin.

Edit: Okay. The Beetle is fast....... in the right hands though. ;)
Started P3 behind P2 Beetle and P1 Supra. They didn't lose me. Finished 2 seconds behind P1 and 1.2 seconds behind P2.

To Polyphony: can you please stop the specially provided car races?!

We have a garage, let us use it!

But supplied cars not garage cars right? I wish they would make it garage cars for this, as requested by @NAXEHT. Then our non-race garage cars might have a purpose other than lobbies or career mode. Still, it sounds like it might actually be a fun race.

On another note, I had three runs at Fuji last night - my first of the week. I opted for the Subie, which I found faster than any of my friends in the 650S, by some margin!

First race I was Q11 and managed to get two clean laps before I ran into the back of an M4 through the twisty stuff towards the end where I had so much more pace than anyone else around me. Trying to keep things clean through that section was so tough, and eventually I picked up a 2s penalty and which dropped me back to P9 after running 7th. I kept the rest of the race nice and clean and finished in P9 without any further incidents. I was hoping to take 7th watching a Scirocco and the M4 fighting through the twisties on the final lap, but neither picked up a penalty (miraculously) or quite took each other off enough for me to take the position.

Second race was pretty clean and simple. Q8, stayed out of trouble and ended up P8 after a McLaren tried to run me wide on the final corner and I only just hung on to 8th.

Final race I had to take some avoiding action on the last two laps when a Bugatti and an RCZ were clearly having a bit of an argument, swiping at each other, brake checking and generally making each other's lives difficult. I managed to squeeze past when the Bug brake checked the Pug coming into Coca Cola and snuck through to take 4th, holding on to the place and keeping the RCZ behind me until the end with a 0.006 gap between us on the line.

4th was my best finish here and I think I actually had my cleanest races of the week here. There was definitely lots of argey bargey going on though, I just managed to keep clear of it.

Hoping I can get a few more races in this week. RBR and Dragon Trails are both great circuits!

Yes. Supplied cars.
My race wasn't carnage. Gave each other courtesy.

I'm going to run the Porsche 911 RSR '17 this week as I seldom use Porsche unless it's in Nation's Cup where you have no choice, I did a few quick runs in WXR, C4, R.S, NSX first they were all pretty evenly matched but when I ran the Porsche I lowered the qualifying time straight away to 1:33.7 over .5 sec quicker straight off and there is more to come and after an attacking 2 laps I eased off a little and gained more time through the 1st corner without understeer and it also helped on the rest of the lap too so there is some truth in slowing down to go faster. It might not be too bad a week. I will probably qualify in Race C in the Nissan but race the Honda as I like driving it but I will start at the back for today as it can be fun.

Got the Lexus all ready to go, but still hate RBR so not sure I'll even bother. Tried B and as usual I suck, but that's what practice is for. I recon I'm about 3 secs slower than I need to be to play and checking my K speed it agrees. Lost SR in a fairly clean race because the guy in front braked till he was nearly stopped for some reason.
Going to try A and it's got to be VW, since I'm not using a French car if I don't have to.

I'd mention the clean drivers, but there are many (too many dirty ones though). The thing is are they clean or were they clean for that race for whatever reason? Met a brit who seems clean and it was 2 races so does that make Some_Numpty a clean driver? I think he probably is but then I had a game with a Turk (sorry name escapes me) and he was clean and respectful, but I saw him later doing some dirty moves on another player. Was it revenge or was I just lucky? Now I always try and thank people at the end if they're clean, but I also try my best not to take grudges from one game to the next because I honestly think most people try to be clean, the biggest problem being many don't actually know how to do that.
To be clear I'm not suggesting I'm great and don't do stupid or even dirty things, just that I try to be clean as much as possible.

A Supra has been winning all night. Beetle and now Evos are starting higher up. I've been the only Mustang finishing in the Top 5 every race. Moved up 3 places in my last race. 7th to 4th.
Seems like the AMGs aren't that strong here. GT-R is probably the closest to fight with the Mustang. However, the GT-R seems weak with brakes and the player using it was cautious when turning and applying throttle. As for other FRs, the RC F looks good, but the Astons aren't doing much.

I really enjoyed race A, didn't get a QT in as I kept crashing so started from the back. 1 other non quali so everyone else has had some sort of practice, yet most of them were going off and just generally mucking up. I kept in mostly on the track bagging 6th and gained 5 SR points......could race A be a SR recovery race?
