Absolute chaos in Race B tonight. I did three races, and my SR went from 99 to 65! The penalty system was out in full force tonight. I feel that I deserved some penalties like running into the back of people when I could have avoided them. But, when a driver goes off in the Esses, rejoins, and they clip my front bumper, and I get a penalty. Ridiculous in my eyes. Same goes for the times I almost get run off the track, penalty. So, I’m done with Dragon Trail this week.

So, to repair my SR, I run some more Race A. Those seem safe from what I ran earlier in the week. Some jockeying for position in the first race I ran. I mistime the final pass and finish 2nd. Next race same thing except one driver is glued to my door approaching and going up the bridge. They fall in line for the turn. Everyone scrambles during and coming out of the turn. I smack the wall but still have momentum to keep up. Going into the final turn, drivers are colliding and have the P1 car set up to make a slingshot pass somehow. I make the move to the right, and they also go right trying to push me into the pit wall. Well, it’s coming up fast and I shove back to avoid hitting the wall. We start fighting and I perhaps go too far and put him in the other wall. I manage to win by .001. Super dirty win, but I didn’t want to lose an opportunity when I feel had the upper hand. I’ve uploaded the replay just search my PSN name. They gave me a ‘gg’ in the post-race chat, so they weren’t upset, I guess.

“THE SNORKEL” because everyone loves diving there, plus the shape!

Wow I went Supraw and cut down on the q time ended up with a solid podium in 3rd.
Pretty happy, was going to put up a photo of me but rewatched the replay of @NevilleNobody!!!
Dooood. He was in an absolute DOGFIGHT with guys very aggressive in the A99 special room.
He did well to survive much less finish top ten!
Great driving! That loosely gooses vette almost took you out!!!
He had a much more exciting race than I did.
I can’t say I’m not happy about a podium though!

The stupid combo of Race A being the most kms-miles i done on the game. 1221kms yesterday. I made couple good friends and a lowest of an enemy. :)

This morning i hit 403kms-250.4 miles per hour top speed leading the train. Got the win also.

Same lobby as you (chisomz1). Congratulations on the win. Watch out if you run again, a very "talented" French driver has woken up..

It's was fight night on the Nord tonight. Honestly today's A+/S A/S feels like last time's B/B. However I had a lot fun racing another non-qualifier in the Cayman. I'm in the Lexus and some sections I'm faster, others he is. That made for a lot of great races with lots of action. However who of us came out on top was mostly based on the chaos around us and dumb as rocks penalty system.

I also got a satisfying revenge swipe in on a Ferrari that had pushed me off in the two races prior. Just because the perfect opportunity presented itself, it would be a full time job to 'police' these rooms. I see Sony sabotaged my system to identify dirty drivers at the start of the race. I usually block them on PSN, then when you look at players met list before the race, you neatly say the troublemakers with blocked next to their name. Now they're filtered out of the list doh.

Faulty penalties received tonight: 3, DR up about 1700, SR stuck at 99. No chance at a victory with A+ Siroccos in all the rooms, but lots of action in the back. You just never know whether it will be some beautiful side by side or undercut turns, getting pushed into the wall, or having to put on the emergency brakes cause a bomb went off ahead.

Europeans aren't very good at racing. ;)
In Europe we all qualify then drive the whole lap in a single line, not even the cars at the back with nothing to lose pull out until near the end.

Last night I won 4 races in a row from pole without people trying to pass until the final corner (even then the pace was high enough that nobody could get alongside because we were in a train).

That's fine but on this track it makes it more interesting if you can get a second lane organised.

Yeah i go for it if possible.
Also even the DR A players can't hold the line at turns.

I'm all in! I have all to sacrifice! Imma gonna destroy him!!!

This creature and 6 others are the cause of my sr/dr resets since the beginning of my gt sports online adventure. I could have progressed more and could have had the opportunity to match higher rated lobbies earlier.

Btw i'm friends with both of your accounts but did not know this was you. Wondering where you are gone for a long time coz we did not match with your other acc. Pleasure racing with you always. Clean and clever racing. Respect!

What I did was, make my own line, to stay out of carnage. The other reason was to prepare for any opportunity. Cars gaining on me, I moved over, let them by and I fell back in line. Bump drafting slows the person giving the bump and allows those behind, to rapidly pass. Leap frogging, I find, works better to keep things calm.
Maybe bump drfating works better in higher ranking rooms.

I'm A+ and can't hold a line. It's a controller thing

In the European lobbies the whole race usually settles into a single bump draft train so if you pull out of the line you can only rejoin in 12th.

Bump drafting should be quicker for both cars if theyre locked together, its when the second car is coming from further behind with a big speed difference that they lose momentum.

I thought of that after i typed that in. Great respect to those controller players on this circuit!
It's amazing how the tiniest input does here... Teaches me some.

Btw had the weirdest non trainy Race A of the week with a Nascar like big collision involving 6 or more cars beginning of last turn. :) I may share...
My consecutive clean races ended at 57 due to unghosted spinning cars in front. I literally had nowhere to go!

Well that was a Fail

Started 2nd and polesitter didn't want to take the lead so I hugged the barrier on the right, he took the tow for a bit then decided to pass with the intension of taking me out, but he failed big time. It was a messy race but I took the win by going high on the final corner while the rest pushed each other all over the place.

I never saw it - was it in a thread of it's own or just in one of these big threads like the Daily races? There's also new names being thrown around (like Larini?) and a bunch of other circuits with no corner names...

That map was in one of these daily race megathreads. We could likely come up with some other names for other tracks (like Big Banky Boi at Lago Maggiore GP & GP II) & make some track maps for those. The Sardegna road tracks will be no fun to label. There are very few features/landmarks on those layouts.

And Big Banky Boi 2 at Alsace, as I've heard it referred to a couple times in some YouTubers streams.

Can only think of Church corner for Sardegna A, and I would say the kink on the pit straight would need different names depending on the direction!!

Is that because we turn right occasionally?

We did that months ago.

We have a multitude of names now. We're going to have to start a GTP encyclopedia of PD track corner names.

For Seaside we have:
1) The Horseshoe/ Larini
2) The Esses
3) The Snorkel/ Seaside/ Essar Down
4) Chicane of Death

Even on Gardens there are 2 names for the 4 apex corner in the middle: The Four Brothers and my coin of Istanbul after turn 8 at Istanbul Park. I also call the tight hairpin The Snout as this track looks like a dragon an that corner would be its nose.

I'm done with Nurburgring for the week. Most have now figured out the fuel mapping, so a pit stop race isn't an option now.

Had some good races there and logged 3 top 5's. Had a race with @05XR8 and another with the top driver in the Asia-Oceania region in (always great to get to race the guys from the World Tour).

Have moved to Daily A. 1 race, no time set and picked up win number 14 for my career.

2 races to forget where taken out of play early (side-swiped into a wall) and launched on the final turn, i swear the car went at least 50 feet up in the air (I'll capture that moment later).

And then picked up my 15th win in a race with @Redneckchef in it. Was looking to work with him, however when we finally linked up (me just having taken the lead) it seems he got tagged and dropped back.

Spent my friday getting a load of race A in. Bit messy for sure in Asia, but still slightly addictive as well. Felt like I had the right runs if things but was just not capable of getting the wins. Saw @Raptor013 out there as well as some other familiar faces. Plenty of nasty bumping as the same sunny faces were simply side slamming people out of the trains and into the walls quite a bit, but for the most part fairly settled.

Managed to give Raptor a boost towards a win (I think it was me) before I got bounced silly by the pack at finish. And finally managed to call it a night after side slipping my way to a win. A in all a wild but entertaining night.

Now to figure out why people are wrecking on the first main straight for position when there is absolutely no need.

Must say that lag is creating a lot of issues for this race with cars jumping around and bouncing people all over.

You bumped me clear down the back straight, not sure if you bumped the red GT into me on the run to the line, but it was much welcomed given it got me home in 1st.

Glad to hear you finally got a win tonight also.

I have the replay, i should upload it cos it was nuts. I was SO FOUND OUT last night. All week I have been saying I am surprised how well I am going with no pace but last night was a tipping point. Almost EVERYONE was in a Supra and I did not have the length nor girth to hang with these guys. I started stone motherless last most times and only gained spots due to other guys binning it or guys squabbling, I am clearly slowest clear air guy on track. Lost 2000 DR points in the process, it was coming.

I cannot gel with the Supra in qualifying and nothing else has the pace it does. It was the same at Yamagiwa a few months back but that track has much faster corners, here, when i lay on the gas with TC1 I spin out, with TC2 she bogs down, killing momentum. So a 1.37.8 is just too slow, I was often the slowest in the room by half a second

And yes i ran the Vette off the road on purpose, he hit me 3 times in 2 corners and I wasn't gonna let him ruin what I had fought so hard for. Kudos to one guy, forgot his name, was absolutely up my clacker for 2 laps, he was SO MUCH FASTER it was hilarious but never hit me. Bravo sir.

Is it just me or has the pace and refinement in the top rooms really got to a point where guys are seriously good? Only issue is it degenerates to a one make series.

I think fun combos bring out the better players to fill top rooms.
They are always good, it just depends on participation. When penalties are strict, imo it improves even more.
That vette was trying to put you off and you had none of it!
I saw just that one we were in together last night and you gained six spots from last.
I started out at 37.4 in the Stang, first race, and was being held up.
The problem is now lots of guys have had time to qualify with an outlier lap (imo)
That’s why I resorted to Supra. I managed to “Larini” the Argentine after he went round me turn 1 lap 2? in that race, that was a fun sequence there, into the esses.
I’d upload that replay from that race if I were you, you showed well that you need to be assertive against some of these players.
After my Larini I was able to escape in 3rd...Boring tbh.

I don’t think it’s your perception at all. The top lobbies have been good a long time on the right combos.
FWIW I run the tcs at 3 in the Soup Raw.
I think sometimes lower tcs values than 3 can work against the player/car sometimes.
By allowing the car more slide, it then cuts in more aggressively and upsets the car more when it does cut in.
The Soup Raw has that turbo, and big time torque and guys with tcs off are having lots of offs, except the cream of the crop.
I dunno. I wouldn’t be averse to trying 3-4-5 and seeing if that actually helps...
I will probably try the Mustang again from further up the field if I’m home tonight.
You definitely have the pace to be further up the field imo but it’s the darn q time, so many players in gts are just really good at time trial.

Interesting TCS theory. I feel there is a difference between the TCS on a wheel and a controller, I think it is way stronger on a controller. I absolutely LAY on the gas, like a light switch most times and TC2 is more than enough, i can't do that with a wheel and pedals.

My big issue at seaside is the esses, I scrub time. So even if I get a great entry (slightly pulling away from guy behind) and full gas allllll the way, I am scrubbing a LOT of time through the curves. For example I cannot hang with other beetles through there, they pull away but I am full throttle.

Could be.
I notice the technique @sturk0167 used to get top ten and I’ve noticed other people use it to is a tap tap blip blip blip throttle exiting turns, just barely getting the throttle almost to full bar for quick blips it prevents the tcs from aggressive cut in. Full throttle held down cuts too much, but blipping doesn’t. I notice I think @GOTMAXPOWER with the aggressive feathering too kind of a Senna type throttle technique. Staccato!

https://www.ayrton-senna-dasilva.com/ayrton-senna-driving-technique/

The esses if your steering goes full lock and you have tcs on in most cars it will cut in.
I dunno that’s my best input I have on it.
I’d be curious if you see any different results on Supra q, but then again maybe it IS different that I dunno, I can’t even complete a lap with controller without crashing it’s hopeless...
