Just running race A all week and notched up a few more wins leading all the way from the front, I got the curves nailed and when they start messing behind on the last corner they just never catch up. I helped a few guys to wins when the madness broke out in the final run and knew that to try pass for the win rather than bump-draft would have seen us swallowed up so I guessed 2nd was better that 6th or 7th. Was in a lobby 2 races later and the guy I helped win returned the favour riding shotgun on the last curve. The few I have helped thanked me after rather that just leaving so nice to race with decent opponents. I'm DR-B for the first time on my main account now and making progress up.

Not going to say I will miss this race as it does lose it's appeal at the end of the week, too bad next week not looking great but it has looked like that before until we started racing and turned out ok.

I would like to do the other races but I still can not hear the cars or tyres due to the ear infection I picked up.

Nice.

Your message and the previous messages from the "race A" runners this week represents the best spirit of this board.

Sharing information, applying that in-race and then raising thinking to a higher level. By thinking, I mean your choice to aid another driver and salvage a P2 vs going for broke and ending DFL. That is so cool.

Fun race this week, some fuel saving with a very unpredictable ending in the last few corners! :D
also featuring @GOTMAXPOWER

Wow! And I don't just mean the end result.

The impressive bit was the speed and car control staying in the slip and not just "losing it". IMO, that is the hardest part of this weeks combo. In a normal combo one goes for the pass. For this week the prized spot is to remain at the back of the leading pack. So hard.

Couple races at Nurburgring today. Tried a no stop. Started 4th, finished 2nd and lost to a guy who stopped. I don't think the Aston is the right choice for fuel savings. It might make a lap on #4 with short shifting, but won't on #3 if you're lighting up the rev bar to the 1/3rd point. Decided to go back to pitting, entered again, and ended up in a room where my :56 got me gridded 18th. Mostly A+ (almost half) and A, with me and 1 or 2 more B's. Guess I'm back to SR-99... pretty uneventfull race. Worked my way up to mid pack on hards, traffic was relatively clean, pitted in 9th or 10th, and all alone from what I could tell. Came out in 18th, finished 16th. Any hints on FR cars that do well on fuel savings races with long straights? Looked like @GOTMAXPOWER was in a jag in the clip above. That's a good car for me. Saw some Vettes and Vipers, but not sure what milage is like...

Been racing the Nord this weekend a bit. Using my alt (because I'm not a complete idiot) and racing from "the back" with no Q, which has started me as high as 8th. First, nobody told me it was a fuel savings race, which I hate, so I've been going BTTW. Most races start with me getting blasted in T1 and dropping back, then playing catch up. Starting on hards, pitting for mediums and fuel, been finishing top 5 mostly, with one (no Q) win. My alt is at about 25k, SR-B, Worked up to a low S. Also did a couple without changing tires. Does help on time in the pits. Finally decided starting mid pack or worse, but not last, wasn't helping, so put in a time. I think it's an 8:56. Oh...all races in the Aston, which has been fun. Anyway, the time gets me top 5 in these rooms, and I did start on pole once. I saw that I had door #7 in that race, (my number!) and decided I needed another win, so I started on mediums. P3 tried the takeout on T1, but I saw him coming and avoided, got through T2 clean and with a second in my pocket, and never looked back. Good 1st lap, no major mistakes at least, pitted with over 10 seconds lead. Everybody close pitted, and I came out still in front. Terrible last lap on hards. Caught the dirt twice, and mowed some grass, touched a wall or 2 but no penalty, still won by 21 seconds. Having fun, and I don't need no stinking fuel savings!

It can be won from the front with a pit, but lap 1 you have to get away and lap two you can’t dawdle behind no stoppers, if there’s lots of no stoppers with decent pace and they try to block lap 2 it can be tough.
That’s B S lobbies.
I no stopped from up front in the Mustang too fm3 lap 1 then 4 lap 2, short shifting but it was very boring.
The pit stop is the way to go imo.
I’ve noticed the only way to pass without getting swerved blocked is you gotta fake out the guy ahead and use grass and contact if necessary swerve blockers everywhere.

Ferrari no stops VERY well

Ferarri won that last race I was in. Ill have to try it.

You have to use the head the odd time and not the heart as so many times on the last curve you think this is my race only to finish in the bottom half.

Jumped in for a last few races and must remind myself not to bother on a Sunday evening. The first time I was lower that 3rd on the grid all week in 6th and thinking these guys must be ok, they where all over the place and I was lucky to finish 7th avoiding the carnage on the last curve. I did a final race on alt-acc for daily mileage and leading into the curve up on top and someone came right up and spun me deliberately as he was dropping back after trying to go by me and not able to make it, you could have driven a truck through the gap before he decided to take me out. Still not a bad week considering and hoping next week I can hear my car again.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends racing, time for a beer and a movie.

4 dirty idiot Brits teamed up and tried to take me out at Race A. They embarrassed themselves. I will share the replays.

I made lots of new enemies today. I can't tolerate idiots and dirty drivers; i destroy them! I don't give my racing line never ever! They lose the slipstream and try to push me side to catch it back... No can do babydoll!

I banned 2 disgusting creatures from my grids permanently and bullied them. A lot!
They were taking out everyone anytime possible. Leaning on others at the turns and smashing them to the wall.
There are few more candidates i may ban.

Where do i send clips for idiots of the week vids? :)

First vid, idiot 1 and 2 try to squeez me to the wall but destroy themselves.

Second vid, Dutch idiot called me dirty post-race, for standing in my line i guess... And idiot Brit number 3 tries to brake check me two times.
Both vids from the same race.

Third bonus vid is from the brake check idiot's view. This idiot took out lots of players today at Race A's.

And a fourth vid coming... One of the Brits trying to take people out, embarrassing himself and human race.

No offense to Brit friends. Two of the best racers i've seen are Brits.

My alt account (no quali, just have some fun) has seen a minor uplift this week. I love the Nurburgring

For fuel saving on the FR cars I think there are a few approaches:
  1. "mo gears" = "mo better". When short shifting there is the risk of bogging down. That should be reduced with more gears plus you can use 7th on the straights. The ferrari has seven gears and I recall the BMW has 7 gears. I saw an an amazing drive in the Huracan (4WD - 7 gears) on 30% fuel for the final lap.
  2. Viper and other low rev cars. These might be fuel efficient depending on whether the game modeled fuel consumption based on full revving which is not needed in these low-torque cars.
  3. I have seen a dude named KAZ run the Porsche Caymen clubsport (MR) with great success. Maybe the KAZ name brings its own skill with it.

I have stuck with the VW all week.

Damn, Sunday nights are plain hostile nowadays. Pushing, shoving, bumping, I need a new car after every lap. I'm stuck in the A+/S, A/S lobbies. Low A+, close to A are the one to look out for. Desperate to keep their + which they probably only got by shunting to the front.

Hopefully it clears up in a bit or I might just go to bed early for a change. I dare say the N100 race on the Nord was a lot more fun than GR.4

Good old times

Edit: It just got worse. I had enough, reset my SR/DR by doing handbrake turns on the track. It mostly likely won't be cleaner at lower DR SR, but at least I don't have to see the same dirty drivers for a while. Top split is garbage tonight.

Hahahaha What a joke
0v5YZF2.jpg

Still the same dirt bags (except #17, great driver) but at least I'm starting behind them now.

The game didn't even reset my clean 'streak'
7HWjkZh.jpg

3,135 DR bucks taken from the A/S crowd, and 35 SR gained, plus I managed to take out nr 18 good in lap two. Don't mess with D/E!

PD what did you do to this game :/

Ah it was another bug, I entered the race before my ratings updated. Apparently the server takes your rating when you click enter, not when matching starts. Unsurprising.

Next race, lower SR levels do still exist
Plq8WXJ.jpg

Easy win (all left in front of me pitted) but 2.5 minute wait lol
Y73Sehb.png

Another clean bonus, another 18 SR, SR.B for the next race

Another victory, CRB, +12 SR (no more low SR boost), SR.A for the next race (66 after 3 races)

Disconnected during matchmaking, break time

Next race didn't go so well. A 1 bar connection started jumping around the track, clipped me at some point and I got a 1 sec penalty. Clean streak reset and SR gain reduced to +2 (68 now).

Then the game got really stupid, wth is on the road at T1. He didn't deserve that penalty, but his reaction to it, wow. I got by in the end, twice actually but he took a shortcut to get back ahead. I saw something new anyway, unmovable obstacle in T1. At some point it must have moved to get there...

Another victory, to 79 SR. +11 this time, I went wide once in lap 2, lost concentration driving by myself. A new record, 3.5 minute wait until the race results, 1 minute penalties keep bumping up the timer. The start of the race was also a record in laggy mess, Schrödinger's race.

One more victory, CRB, +12 SR to 91, back to SR.S in 6 races with 5 victories. DR lags behind, 13.8K, not bad 10.8K in 6 races.

While it is not cleaner in lower SR, the attacks are a lot more clumsy and more easily avoided. There are a lot of people over driving the car though, minefield now and then. And what's with all the pit stops, is no stop now exclusive to high DR/SR?

One more to 99 SR

5 other no stoppers in B/S, most still pit though

I had figured out three two secrets of the "Chicane of Death" in the daily race B,
1. Don't hit the last corner
2. Let up on accelerating in 2nd half of the chicane, get back on the gas as you pass the last curve

Ah, my favorite Gran Turismo fantasy track: DTG. I'll get a couple races in before it turns to a you-know-what fight.

Mustang for starters and probably WRX and GT-R there after.

Autopolis iM running beads and burning incense that it's the Group C cars. I mean, World Sports Cars used to the ace on the circuit back in the day.

Can't call Race A.

Happy hunting.

Already has turned into a caca storm, with "brake checks" giving the one colliding the penalty, then the obvious drivers of diving...

A 2 second penalty for collision...

Race A will be either; Civic R vs Integra, Mazda Roadster or BRZ vs 86.

I'll make the call and say Mazda Roadster.

The last week was very eventful, in a bad way. Gr.3 Race B made me felt that the Supra was weak even after the time spent on the Olympic Time Trials (Rank 1868th at the end). Race C didn't help as "Fuchsröhre" tried to kill me, but managed to get decent results fortunately. This week's races won't probably motivate me as the Yaris race on Fuji yesterday tore my tires into half, resulting in me getting 70 pts out of it.

On Sunday, I had entered Race C and won it having started in third position. It was my ninth and last daily race win of the week. I thus had also won at least one daily race for the eighth consecutive day. I then realized I had ended this week on a high note by winning that race C.

Genesis was my weapon of choice for this race last time. Found it to be perfectly matched for the circuit and managed some good results with it.

EDIT: My bad, was thinking DTG was Gr.3, not Race A...

I decided to run Race A on an account I've hardly done any races on to see what the race is like in the lowest splits. Essentially there's a lot of sideswiping going on and not a lot of people seem to have grasped the concept of bump drafting.

Funny thing is that the feisty Italian sent a German guy into the pits

Four Race A.

Set my fastest times in the 208 and CLio. The VW has quick lower gear shifts, but ain't that flash. The DS3 has top end, but I couldn't cope with its peg-legging.
CLio has the tightest suspension. Easiest to control everywhere, but top end is low. 208 is the allrounder.

Lastly, watch out for knuckleheads. I have video, but really can't be bothered. I'll do the other races later.

This week I will "git gud" and finally do Grade 1 race, almost exclusively this week except when passing time.

Did a dozen lap of practice and qualify, after 1st race where I ended up 6th from 7th. Second best time on quali in the race. Proceeded to muck it up and finish 9th due to lack of concentration (ran wide same corner 3 times, and then crashed at the pits). Bu pretty good effort I think for someone who been doing mostly Gr 3 and 4, along with not doing much Race C. Hopefully I can fix my race pace by end of the week.

Pro "rookie" tip: Make sure you practice that pitstop once, is deceptively hard. Half the field crashed into it it seems judging by the penatlies and lack of SR drop at the end.
