Tried C and it's a bit meh, can confirm no need to change just stop and go. Tricky to pass cleanly, or at least it feels that way although my 5 passes were all done without even scrapping. Tried it from the back and wasn't much fun, will quali later and see if it improves.

Went out for a few rounds of race C. Definitely an interesting one. In the past there are several viable cars. 458 seems to be king for now if yo can hang on to it, but the Trophy is doing well. The pit stop is catching a lot of people out. Timing that gives you a good strategy option. And learn the braking points for the entry and exit of the Miyabi layout. Those turns are claiming cars every race.

Was good to see some friendly faces out there including @ILLEAGLE_34 and @OGMowerman

Imagine putting a ball-bearing on a plate of glass covered in oil and then running upstairs without it falling off.

Welcome to Race A ………..
T1 was OK, then I forgot it was the short track and hit the barrier head-on at very high speed 🤣

Not raced yet, but I don't think I'd like to be at the front for the first couple of corners.

Was going to play some Spa to get better, but once was enough. Even though I was competitive with the guys around me, there just isn't any good passing places. Yes you can pass people if the make a slight error, but even then trying to do it clean is nearly impossible. Or I'm still not good enough there?
The end of Kemell is the obvious spot, but you need a great run through Eau Rouge. I actually pass most folks at Pouhon, the temptation is to go at that corner hard, well corners i guess as it is a double apex, but they often drift a touch wide and if you keep a tight line and power out hard you may get them into the S section and you can hold a like that gives you the inside through the middle of the S.

Isn’t the Taycan horrible to drive? Maybe good on the road, but terrible on track
When I checked yesterday, it said "Group X" for Race A on the short RB Ring, so immediately thought there was a glimmer of hope in it using the RB Juniors.....PD, please do recruit some racing people at your outfit before this franchise dies.

They simple refuse (or cannot see how) to free things up to make it more interesting and exciting.

Hi all, not sure where exactly to put this but I interviewed perhaps the most famous GT Sport Daily Racer of all time, Momoz91, and it goes live in 5 minutes. Will be very interesting for anyone that has seen him drive and wants to know about his mindset - he has never spoken before!

The Taycan is incredible compared to the Tesla Model S. It feels like the suspension can handle things other than a straight line and is in general really stable.

The thing weighs over two tons (5060 lbs in game) and is an EV. I'd cut it some slack.

In the hypothetical reality in the game, there should be weight reduction to emulate a hypothetical lighter battery for racing. Sort of like fuel weight.

Taycan battery is about 600kg meant to go 300kms. Race A is only 16kms, needing only about 25% of the full battery. A quarter battery would make it 450kg lighter which equals about 20% of the total weight.

That's cool PD chose a new car.

That Race C seems like a BTCC compulsory pit stop. Pit Lap 1 or the last lap. Someone said it's a one second trade off for changing tyres?

Those things are integral to the chassis design typically and the suspension and other bits would all have to be modified accordingly. It wouldn’t make sense to make a phony version for the game, it makes more sense to just line them up and drive them as designed.

Race C looks really nice, but I'm really interested in Race A this week.

First off, I love the combo. Enjoyable car + Simple track.
Second, its not a race car. Driving Gr.4/Gr.3 with no wear isn't that enjoyable or exciting to me.
Lastly, its got that GT feel to it. Like Electric Circuits vibe.

Third race in, I managed to get lucky enough to pull out a win. Pole sitter was on the Top 10 leaderboard (Americas), got overtaken a bunch at the beginning and was hunting me down towards the end of the race.

unreal pace from this guy

When I looked at the replay, I saw @Mc_Yavel going 3 wide down the main straight. Absolutely wild stuff in a car that can barely brake
Did see this guy in my mirror though...

Ran a Race C again and this time everyone pitted. Finished 10th. Decent race. My QT is about 2:30, need to start higher. I don't think anyone in front of me made any errors.

Watched the replay of my 1st race and it was just 1 idiot running around intentionally hitting others. That one car picked a fight with 4 other cars making it seem crazy.

That a good point. Balance would really differ. It would need to be modifiable. A "tuner Taycan". Say that fast 5 times.

Not doing race A this week. Hate electric cars with a passion.

Race C up first. Hopped in the 86. Did the job, broke well, cornered well and handled the tyre wear well.
Started P12 after 2 disconnects before the lobby opened. By the time the warm up finished we were down to 17 runners.
Pretty much status quo for the first lap. I decided to duck in for my stop at the end of lap 1. I figured there was no point battling for a few laps loosing time. I'd rather get clear air and hot lap and hopefully grab some time on those still battling. It sorta worked. Someone else pitted at the end of lap 2 and they were around 5 seconds behind me. However at the start of lap 4 I ran slightly wide and touched the grass with a miniscule of my tyre and the car went round. Of course I ended up facing the barrier costing me more time. That was the only incident for me. The car who pitted and was behind mucked up 35R that same lap giving me back that place. I was behind a few cars battling after they came out the pits. A Porsche went for a chat with Barry R and I was on the back of a Megane and a TT. They started to knock 7 bells out of each other. Eventually I got the megane out of the final turn when it went wide. The TT went wide on the rejoin to Yamigiwa. I got alongside and the TT went wide into the long right so I went underneath and never looked back. Next up was a Ferrari and an Atenza. They battled along the final lap. The Ferrari mucked up the esses and I got them into the final corner. I crossed the line P10. I maybe expected to shoot up a couple of places. In the end I shot up 5 including the Atenza. I finished P5 and just laughed. In truth without the spin I could have had P3. I really reccomend the lap 1 pit unless you are leading. Just staying out of trouble for a few laps (just don't spin it :dunce:) can gain you places on this one.

Now for Spa.
Hopped in the Supra. (A theme here perhaps... 🤔) Started, you guessed it... P12!
A race where I was up to 9th lap 1 only to be barged back to 12th. I did a lovely move around the outside into the final chicane on a Lambo. (I shoulda kept the replay. D'oh!) After the barging by the idiots I came home P12. One of the bargers was facing the wrong way into Stavelot 1 so at least there was some karma on them.

Hopefully I will get some racing in this week as I have a few days off between jobs at the end of this week.

There's a Japanese series where Model 3s and Taycans race. The Taycan is generally faster but almost always overheats.

Wow! That Race "A" is just.....strange. In a good way, though. Hearing the tires over the engines is just.....so different, lol. But that acceleration is.....DANG! I've only done 1 race, so far. Started 9th, finished 7th; + clean race. Overall, a good time. I definitely like this one.

I'm shopping for a proper naturally aspirated car, something that likes to rev and is a bit obnoxious so I can annoy EV drivers in the future. What a soulless thing they are.

Raced spa 3 times in the merc, being murdered through eau rouge , my tail gets the wobbles and the tc kicks in and I amnlosing a ton of time. I am, however, faster than the supra drivers out of LA source and also exiting stavelot.

Regardless, I feel a bit down on pace so tried the 2 supras again. In the end I set a 17.8 in the ft1, but was on track for a 17.4 before I bogged her down out of the last corner and got a ton of turbo lag.

Solution through eau rouge is to set tc to 0 once out of la source and back to again before malmedy.b

Decided to take a run at Race C, and I’m only about .5 seconds or so behind my Kudos target time to my shock. Currently sitting at a 02:31.068 so far in the Ferrari which is the first time I’ve used it. It’s easy to drive so far with some good handling. I’d use the Slophy, but I learned my lesson last week and there are too many long straights to lose time on this week. The only troubles I’m having are the transition into and out of the Miyabi portion of the track. They are so awkward to navigate going in the reverse direction. I'll get the entry and exit down it with more laps. Should be some fun racing this week.
Gotta love YouTube. Found this video clip of the 1970 Austrian GP.

That footage is so cool. I don't think I've ever seen the old track in action, I've just seen just pictures like the one you posted. Granted, my knowledge of older F1 is non existent so anything that old will be neat to me.

Any chance to return to Spa is always a pleasure, just wish it was more laps. Span out on my first attempt trying to push too hard at Malmady but lesson learned, started 8th and was able to claw back to to 10th at least for a respectable finish. Will be hammering this all week.

Race C was easier to pick up than I'd originally thought looking at the layout, most of the turns are very similiar and straight forward but while I enjoyed building a nice rhythm there driving, it seemed to space cars out real quick and didn't produce a good race unless I just got unlucky. Looking forward to mixing up some pit stops at least and possibly make a tire switch and see how much I can gain over the hards.

Race A, concept is fine but the no contact penalties kill anything at the Red Bull Ring as the car behind just uses you as a buffer for late braking and even more so in the Taycan, meant the race was a bit annoying for me I don't know if I'll give it more than 1 more try.

The Taycan is a really weird car to drive, I didn't notice until half way through a race that it has rear wheel steering. Having any steering lock on whilst slowing down will cause the ABS to come in too strong and kill the brakes, if you can get all the hard braking done in a straight line it's surprisingly grippy.

I wish they kept the old pit exit.

I had no idea the circuit was so different once upon a time! Looks like it would have been an insane place to drive back in the day, with some incredibly fast banked corners and very little safety margins involved! It would be awesome if PD would add "Classic" versions of the circuits, like this, so we could race the classic race cars on a classic circuit for proper classic feels!

Original Spa circuit would be nuts, like a Nordschliefe style circuit:

The original Silverstone would probably be boring but insanely quick:

And the original Monza circuit would be just pure flat out fun!

Racing old indycars at classic Monza with the banking on Project Cars 2 was a close experience, chaos of course due to the game but the 'feeling' was there in a short burst. PD could do this far better, I'd love to see it.
