Thank you for one of the finest weeks in a long time, my fellow racers and Polyphony Digital!

Is there something wrong with GTBlade?
I go to look to see how I compare but I get nothing.

Really enjoying Race B this week. Bathurst is hard, but practice makes perfect I guess. Today I started out with a 2:17 and now have a 2:13.5 in the Megane. I know there’s still a lot of time in it. Came close to winning a few races but made some mistakes, but the racing is very good in the lobbies I’m in. Btw I want to say thanks to everyone who gave me advice with Big Willow the other day. Got my first two wins there! Also, what GR2 car should I buy?

Im getting more used to the track but no idea where 10 plus seconds are! Im sure my braking points are way off and Im either scrubbing too much speed or missing good exit speed.
Most likely. Gr2 has bucketloads of aero and very good brakes. You're most likely braking too much and taking corners too slow. Best thing would be to use the qualy time trial and attack a few corners you know you are doing well on and see if you can take it with a little less brake or more speed. Between my first run and second run I shaved 5 seconds off by attacking the first sector better.
Good luck.

Very good tip. Thanks.

The uphill bits before and after the bridge confuse me. It's smooth with Gr.3 cars. Very different with these cars.

Had a solid qualy, for me, and started 2nd. The guy in front made a few mistakes and I got 5 seconds up. We both started on the softs and pitted after 4 laps.

He came out of the pits still 6 seconds back but caught me right before the bridge on lap 6 and punted me off!! Aghh.

I stayed closed but wasn’t able to pass him again. Race ends and he gets the 1:00 penalty for not using mediums! No wonder he caught me in less than 2 laps…

Was sweet justice to get the win after he punted me off.

I completely overestimated my ability to learn the track quickly for race C. GT Blade has me 2 seconds off of the average time for my rank. Which is honestly disheartening, but now I have a goal time to aim for. I know where to find some time, I just need to make it happen.

Hasn't worked for a while now for me.

Went out for a bunch of Q laps last night at Bathurst. I wanted to try better my skill with the NSX, and it's fairly evident I need a lot more time behind the wheel and to learn better inputs to get that thing to respond properly. I was miles off my optimal (1.3s off!) so consistency was not my strong point with it. After 10 laps I couldn't get under 2:15, so I jumped into the Supra for a better Q time and managed to surpass my optimal NSX time on the first lap! Is the NSX just slow or do I just not know how to drive it?

Bathurst is interesting, it's the Megane vs VW show with the odd stang thrown in. The FF cars drive a bit differently, the VW is much more fun to drive and a DEMON under brakes but the Megane is a gun on the two long straights. I managed a 2.11.9 in both cars but there's another 4 tenths if i get it right. That's good enough to qualify and race mid pack in A+/A lobbies though the A+ drivers are considerably faster and vanish inside half a lap.

I have all sorts of issues with the stang under brakes, got it down to a 12.5 but I cannot find more. The Jag feels good but the stop watch says no.

The FF cars have a huge advantage over the RWD entering the dipper, one can carry SO MUCH MORE SPEED without worrying about the back end coming around. There's so much time there it is hard to make it up elsewhere.

For those struggling to get their times down to where they want it, you will find it in the Cutting, the double left hander as you climb. Getting on the gas early means you carry that speed ALL THE WAY to mcphillamy (the last of the 3 fast left handers) so that cutting exit is vital.

So I only managed to do two races today because I got busy prepping for Christmas related stuff which is fair enough.

First session and it was a slow day combined with my SR being down without me noticing it so it resulted to this grid for my session. Was a hollow victory to say the least for me.

And then in my second and last session for today, that is where things finally looked up with the opponents I had to deal with. Just as the usual I wanted.

Race went alright and didn't have much problems along the way. As soon as I learned the pit time loss wasn't that massive that I expected to be, I decided to pit in early before the end of lap 2. Also had a small skirmish where this three way battle got messy at the end. Managed to get out of that mess and took advantage of it.

After that I had to deal with another GT-R with 5 lap old softs. Suffice to say he gave me a good fight before overtaking him on the corner before the straight.

From there I managed to hold to a win that I wanted to get because the last one felt hollow for me due to the grid. Glad that I got to win in a non-GTR Gr.2 car.

Practice makes perfect.
And so does the right car. Don't forget to qualify on the soft tires. I had left both of my GT-Rs on mediums from the last time we had Gr. 2 cars in dailies.

Yes. I won't lie, unless you're an alien, Gr. 2 cars require learning. They handle & brake better, and the aerodynamics are terrific. Practice.

I would suggest NOT buying either NSX. The MR drivetrain is tricky for those running Gr. 2 for the first time. From what others have said, the Lexus is more stable, but the Nissan might be a slim amount faster. Also, buy a 2016 model, not 2008s. The newer cars are just plain faster.

Taking the first corner past the pits in 4th gear instead of 3rd as the game suggests will pick up a fair amount of time. I typically have a quarter second easily over my ghost & lose it going into the hairpin left before the back straightaway. But, I do love these cars. Best of 3:09.4 with a optimal of 3:08.4. Edit: 3:09.048 with optimal at 3:07.642. I would've had close to that, but I dropped the right side into a sand trap & into the wall I went. :banghead:

Another edit: 3:07.818. Optimal: 3:07.008

Race C is such a good combo. I feel quite comfortable. Got my time down to a 3:09 but I'm sure there is an 8 in there somewhere.
The only thing I need to do is stop making a mistake on the first lap which tumbles me down the order.
4 laps on the softs is easy.
Unfortunately I passed this guy when they came out of the pits. They can go faster in turn 1 than those of us that have to brake normally. The caught me in the next right and almost pitted me off. Luckily I held onto the slide but lost places and time to those I had previously cleared.

I'm down to a 3.06.5 and there is definitely some time to find, make sure you qualify on the soft tyres.

D'oh yes just did this myself. Knowing a few different tricks thanks to @Tidgney's video I went for another practice run to get a 3:10. Strange that's slower than before. It was only in the pre race screen that I noticed I was still on meds.
Next practice and a switch to softs, boom another 2 seconds gone. 3:07.3
Doing well in the races, I just need to cut out the 1 mistake per race. Also recovered well after being punted twice in 1 race. DR is climbing and is highest it has been.

I got my qualifying time from being 2 seconds behind the GT Blade average in my rank to being quicker by 0.70 seconds with a 3:09.5XX. Much better than I expected honestly with the problems I had yesterday. I just hope I don't visit those weird sections of barrier on the track I managed to find during my learning of the track during an actual race tomorrow.

I won't be driving the dailies, this week, anymore.

I just rant my 1st race for this week, and it was horrible. I ran "B" and used the Veyron. Decent speed on the straights and I can control it pretty well in the twisty sections. But this POS driver decided he didn't want to be passed and punted me WAY off the track coming up to the chase. He'd served a penalty, and I got along beside him going down Conrod Straight. As soon as I'm beside him, he turns sharply into me and I go flying off the track and wind up over in the corner that's beyond the chase. And he's gone around the Chase and going down that straight before I'm reset. And thanks to that, I finish dead last.

Panorama isn't my best track, but I'm learning it OK and learning the limits of the car, especially going up and coming down the mountain. But ****** drivers are just ruining it for me. And my DR dropped almost 1200 points thanks to that a-hole.

And I'm certainly not a fan of the "C" race track. And the "A" race is just a stupid track, IMO. So I won't be doing anymore dailies this week. That 1 race was so not fun, it's basically ruined it for me, this week.

My optimal is high 3:07s and I think I'm currently at 3:10.1. I have to improve. Luckily I have all week, as I'm off from work.

Once bitten?

Man new record last night, 10 A+ drivers in one room, needless to say I started 15th! Ha!

Pace is hot regardless, even in mostly A rooms, doing 12's and holding fort around 10th, cannot seem to make up ground unless folks tangle. Speaking of which, i realise it is only 3 laps but in an A/A+ room, seriously, unless the guy in front runs wide there is no passing from turn 2 to forrests elbow, trying to force your way past does nothing more than bring the guy behind us into play so calm the hell down.

Puma to get "used" to it, you know when you go to brake across the top? Yeah... don't. Well you need to entering the dipper but even then, brake way, way later than your brain says to. Then keep going and brake even later.
