What times are you guys running?

In my opinion, the car making the pass attempt (offense) can try as many lines as they want. There is always a chance that they approach a corner from the wrong line & have to slow down more than the defender & ruin their own chance to pass. I think the "defense dance" says more about the mindset of the driver defending more than the overtaking driver. The defender is so desperate to maintain the position (remember, it's just a video game) that they risk losing the spot. I had an incident earlier in the year at the same track, but going in the normal direction.
Thank you for the video example. Whenever this happened to me, I was wondering, if I'm at fault. But I never felt bad about it, because the other driver moved his car into mine, which is extraordinarily stupid if the one in front is something like the Supra, while we're in a corvette, Mustang, Veyron (the big fellas).
...
I'm not familiar with the rule, but I'm sure you're right, because when I watch real races (even Formula 1) the offense one is often switching sides/lines very often. It's quite inevitable to do so, especially if one cares to not punt the one in front.
....last race I won with the mustang
smile with 8 seconds gap.
the race before, I was in 'ze' BMW Z4 and was 1.5 sec faster each lap. finished 8th. I got punted quite often, the ghosting is not that good, on this track.
Ah, and my first complaint about PD:
Race C - what sense does it make, to be able to choose the nice Sauber C9 or Nissan R92, if they cut their power to 83%? I felt like an old lady, slowly driving to a grocery store, while sportscars pass me by, hunking their horn, showing me middle fingers. I mean these cars are nostalgic and handlingwise a challenge, but they were/are/will never slow at all.
Those replies make sense to me. Thanks very much. I've really gotten a lot from this board!
Another question: if I know I'm doing poorly on this course, does it make sense to continue? I guess if I do, eventually my rating will drop to where I'm competitive on the course. I fairly quickly went from D to C to B due to the race on Big Willow, a track I'm more familiar and comfortable with. But I know I need to learn how to adapt to many different courses. Maybe I shouldn't worry about ratings so much.
Maybe, you shouldn't worry about ratings so much. ;-)
Those worries are often followed by bad behaviour on the track.
