Anyone had any luck with the 650S here?
I never have any luck with it anywhere, the car is invisible in this game unless it's a long race with huge tyre wear and even then there are better options.

Give the Lancer a go, I managed a 20.2 in it, get on the throttle early though. Alternatives are the Beetle or the WRX in regards to really grippy cars you can chuck about.

Thanks, I'll give them a bash tonight.

Last night I didn't want to tempt fate again and have to abandon another race halfway, so I just jumped into Sardegna for some hot laps to improve my Q time. After 11 laps, I'd managed to knock 1.6s off my time, down to a 1:21.2, which I was thrilled with! Until I had a look at the leaderboard and I'd only managed to jump one place, switching positions with @OJBrit and still 0.5s off my K-score time. Either the McLaren isn't capable of achieving that or I just don't get the flow of this circuit!

Anyone had any luck with the 650S here?
It wouldn't have been hard to get ahead of me. I only did a few laps on Tuesday and wasn't in a competitive car. Will be looking to see what I can do on Sat.

Times are really quite fast, to be competitive in A rooms you need to be in the 19's, ideally mid 19's in qualifying and mid 20's in the race. I ran a 20.2 and was starting last in A/A+ rooms. I'd pester people into mistakes and gain places though, finish around 10th.

One other that springs to mind is that this week's Daily Races will be the last in GT Sport, and only the last two rounds of "Road to GT7" will run in GT Sport.
No more daily races in GT Sport? But what about the remaining racers who do not have or get GT7 they will be left out with no online racing in GT Sport? (Lobbies do not count in DR/SR)

Absolutely beastly Race B fest this week for me, A and C don't hold much in terms of excitement so I've been hammering those Group 3's.

Sardegna has been a revelation, on occasion. Not only do I hold a respectable Q time of 1.19.8xx (after an appropriately long practice session) but the general race conditions and lobby variety have presented a satisfying assortment of challenges. When you're in a lobby full of A+ and a few fellow A's, maintaining track position and capitalising on others mistakes by remaining consistent is about as good as GT Sport racing can get for me.

The odd mismatch lobby has given me an opportunity to practice confident overtakes (you know, when you mess it up and let lower - DR drivers into your company) safe in the knowledge you can probably brake later or power down earlier then they can, given that there is one good corner of each sector on this circuit to do so. My favourite being the blind (ish) uphill left hander after the crest. I learned to get brave, either holding it on the inside or equally powering around the outside! Great stuff.

PS that's before I even get into racing on my second account from the back, trying another car - in this case discovering the joy of driving that Gr.3 WRX - and feeling the grip of of whole world as you fly around those tricky corners (I don't actually know if the Subaru is quick because I played in full chilled mode, laying on the couch, but it sure is fun)

Hoping to get another session in before the week's end, but I'll be working late all weekend and probably miss the best lobbies.

The Beetle has decent power but the other two, you gotta wring their necks, carrying a boat anchor but I make up a LOT of time through the double right hander and the uphill left.
I haven't driven the Beetle in a while - might be time for a few more laps again. I remember it being insanely quick around Laguna Seca and DTG, perfectly geared for those two short twisty tracks. So it makes sense it would be pretty strong here.

I did think your time looked a bit slower than usual and assumed it was just a quick few Q laps, as you say. No doubt by the end of the weekend you'll be a few tenths ahead of anything I can achieve!

19.82 starting 10th in low A room. 😬
The pace is crazy, and you better damn well keep up in race or you get bombed. The amount of times idiots are drawn like flies to feces on the inside of the double right hander is amazing. THERE IS NOT A GAP THERE PEOPLE. The nature of the corner means you take it high, i am going to close down on you, every tie. Idiots.

Think i might be coming to the end of my time with GT Sport online, i really do.

I've been thinking about getting online with it for ages and after a good month or so I was pretty happy with things. Yes you get the odd bad race with morons pinging you off everywhere and seemingly more bothered about ruining your race than actually focusing on their own, but this week in Sardegna B II has been an absolute nightmare and a complete waste of time. (And what is with the 2-2.5 sec penalty on the last corner if you seemingly touch the blue part of the curb....!!! i got pushed/banged out wide there, lost two places and then get a penalty while those that caused it and gained places got nothing......!!!!!!)

I like to think i'm ok at the game, I only use a controller and stick with auto gears, and i know that will always limit where i could possibly get to with it. I'd managed to steadily climb to near the top of DR B, just over 27k points and was hopeful of reaching DR A in the near future, but this week has tanked my points down to the low 20's.

Generally this week i'm starting near the back of the grid, no higher than 10th this week so far, which is fair enough, i normally make it in to the top half or at least make several places, but this weeks races have been so brutal, just when i'd hoped the standard would have got better the closer i got to DR A

Had 4 races the other evening and in each one was taken out on the first lap within the first 4 corners. none of these were innocent nudges wide or taps from behind that send you deep in to the corner thus losing time, they were all full on ramming missions that generally ended with me spinning round or heading backwards to the gravel...

If the person behind is faster i'll try to defend the corner fairly and always try and leave room on the outside\inside so i'm not running them out of track, but as soon as they get by they do the opposite, even turning left in a right hand corner just to push you off... others try and get by for a few corners and then just result to bumping you off at the next braking zone... dont get me started on those that cant even drive in a straight line down the start\finish and are somehow magnetically attracted to my car...

Perhaps it was the 'evening crew' that just like to smash about on it, so i tried a quick race at lunchtime... exactly the same, he couldnt get by for a few corners so in the next hard braking zone up the chuff he comes and in to the gravel i go...

so im now seriously thinking about staying off this until GT7 is out and seeing if that is any better, although rumours are it wont be...

Its nice to build up the DR points, but does that really matter, not really.... I just want to have good, close, enjoyable racing but as things are at the moment it seems like that is the last thing you will get on GT Sport.....

Rant over....

Rumour has it, these are the last batch of daily races until GT7 anyway...

I'm only 2 months into GTS but i'm amazed at how you're a DR B on auto not MT.

Maybe this is where i'm going wrong! it does take a bit of practice to switch to MT, not much, but I don't even like auto now, like with the electric Vision GT cars, i just feel like a passenger.

Sardegna B2 is a fun roller coaster track, but indeed be prepared to be rammed off pretty much every race. However there is also great stuff to be found. Here a compilation of some fun side by side action at race B, overtaking at Sardegna:

Oh and second clip how to overtake 4 cars in T2

The top time is 18.2 which is nuts. Seems like this combo has a bigger alien gap than usual.

The new favourite is the downhill sharp left hander for bombing. If you’re dirty you can scream down the inside and are guaranteed to make the turn and gain maybe 3 places lap 1. The only downside being that you’ll end a couple of races for other people. So frustrating.

A DR seems a bit beyond me currently so not worried about it.

Nothing wrong with AT. Most of the higher rated drivers use MT. But it's been shown that some (when they get bored) can achive the same times with AT.

Also sometimes a ride in AT can give you an idea of correct shift points which may be different than what you think are correct in MT.

Generally, it's best to do what comes naturally.

Been a while since I did any daily races.

But Race B tempted me back and gosh it has been good fun. Quali down to a 19.4, which isn't exactly great.

Initially was good enough to have me starting in the top 10. But as the day progressed found myself in lobbies with the A+ aliens. So starting firmly at the back.

Quinten running 18's in race, well and truly out of my depth.

Also had a run in with the dirtiest of quick drivers from Spain, that people have been talking about lately. Not proud of it. But saw his shenanigans and intentionally took him out. I only realised when I saw the replay. That I was the reason the other driver crashed. Not doing that again.

I just ran the AT/MT experiment.

To begin with my time was 1:26 in my trusty Huracan. If a daily race allows my Huracan then the man who can prevent me from using my Huracan has not yet been born because I will use my Huracan despite all wisdom to the contrary and in the face of God.

I changed to a GT Supra Racing Concept '18 and my time immediately came down to 1:23.4, so 3s quicker. I might sell my Huracan.

I then did 5 laps on AT and couldn't get to within 2s of my MT lap. It's how my brain is wired now, I only have a sense of what gear I'm in/ where I need to be through my left thumb on the downshift square button. I just can't feel anything in AT. Would take 2 days of playing for me to unremember MT.

I'm using AT and chill at Track.. more Time for the beautiful Nature around the Track.

For every Car you can find a good Track for. So dont sel any Cars.

The only way I could somewhat consistently turn 1:19's was with the Renault. In all others I owned, the gearing just wasn't as good. It's insanely twitchy, though. Just breathing on the throttle in 2nd with any amount of steering input brings the rear around. You must get the car straight as quickly as possible in turn 5 and 12 (last turn).

Yes, that pink Renault was the very one I mentioned last night. Turns out that he was also pulling similar moves on other players in the lobbies I entered, though thankfully I managed to avoid getting caught up in any of those I witnessed through watching the replays.
