Well I'm done for the week so you win this round. Till next week.
Woohoo I won something!! 😀

Suzuka was a lot of fun. Good results today.

I had a drop to SR.A on race B before the rounds started. (pretty dirty at Sardegna)
First race was in B/A, second B/S (the low range at 82), third and fourth in A/S 99 SR.

It's reflected in the points, 1st place 37 pts, 2nd place 44 pts, 8th place 117 pts, 6th place 128 pts

Matchmaking is so weird, strange rooms in SR.A and 80-89 SR

The lower SR rooms were pretty messy at the start but soon spread out over multiple laps
The A/S rooms were pretty clean, there is always one though.

Great so see none of the races were dominated by a meta. Maybe that was the case in the A+ room, not in DR.A. I could keep up pretty well with the stock Lexus RC F (didn't bother tuning, not even the gearbox, never even used 6th gear ). Starting on hards, pit for mediums end of 5, pit for softs end of 11. Thus 5-6-5 RH-RM-RS. That worked out well from the back.

Next week, karts on RBR Short. 20 zippy karts on a small track, gonna be interesting!

I switched to bumper view and found it much easier on t1 and t3 to gauge breaking points and hit the apex. Got my time down a tenth to 19.74. Not sure if I’ll go back to roof cam. I was resuming from a session yesterday and it messed up the connection and the time wasn’t saved which was frustrating. But I’ve got some food for thought with the camera. See what it’s like in race.
I'll try to follow your Times. ;) i'm also join the 1.19,xxx

But for Today i'm realy frustrated so much again. I got nice Time on Qualifying, got nice Positions for Race ( 1-3) and then.. any very huge Asshole behind me Kicks me out. That makes me soo angry. I wish i can meet some of them. :(

Done 👍 I just want that new game experience by starting from scratch.
Yeah, it doesn't feel like a new game since DR & SR carry over. This allows you to see the same awful, dirty drivers in dailies as in GT Sport. Great way to taint the experience for long time players. New players have to earn their way up to a level to no longer wanting to play online.

I saw you got into the 19s. My experience has been the same as yours. Three races so far starting top 4. Been rammed off twice in every race. T1 you’re at the complete mercy of whoever is behind you, and I get dive-bombed in basically every turn. I can usually stay on track but when it happens every time eventually one will knock you off. I’m back to A/B mixed rooms now. Be DR B again soon.

For me its hard to get 20k or more, so i'm low Class B/S. Most Days i'll start Racing like today an loose instant 1-2 k Points or more on few Races. Then i "find" some clean/fair Races and i get points back. At the end of the Day i'll stand almost a the Sam Result. The Problem what i have, if i'm not on Pole, i'll drive to carfully to dont bump into the Drivers in front of me, but the Drivers behind, are not so fair like that.

Btw. Before last Night i es driving other Cars, like the McLaren.. now I’ll Drive the RCZ also.

The RCZ and the R8 seem like the best choices for our sort of level. Your DR may be low B but your pace is low A / high B. We have to hope some sort of penalty system that works is out in place and we’ll have a better reflection of pace rather than who’s best at ramming.

It would nice if GT7 at least adjusted the scale. Going from 1 SR to 99 SR in one race is still possible, as well as going from DR.D to DR.A in one day, ok two if you don't qualify :P

Not sure when PD will copy the ratings over on the 15th, but I'll be messing around in D/E on Tuesday

First race always sucks lol. I got into DR.A again from Suzuka. The back there is no fun to race in. If you're careful not to hit the car in front, someone will wedge in a car from behind. It's not racing, just shoving cars into not really gaps.

In DR.B I can get 1:20 laps on B, 1:19 once in a while. Just now in SR.A, 1:22 at best. If you're careful, you just get taken advantage of. It sucks, we really need the penalty system back. But I guess for now I'll tank my ratings back to DR.B so I can race instead of get moved around by other cars.

@NikNakTobasco We used to have a freebie like that right before a server update. The last race before server maintenance didn't count towards your ratings. So you could punt as much as you like, end up as D/E after the race, then when the server was back on, A/S again

PD said they would synchronize the ratings somehow later. Who knows. It all doesn't matter anyway. It will be messy in the transition period, new players, new tracks and a lot of players not instantly switching over.

Anyway **** A/S, same thing second race. So I went driving back and forth to get rid of SR. The game still gave me the clean race bonus while dropping me to SR.C 🤣 A/C now, away from the A/Sholes.

Eh? You have more than enough pace. Pit stops, there's nothing to do but select a tyre and tyre wear has been reduced in the last year. Just get on and do it.
Right i'm also think the same... Drives with good Pace "feel" her own Speed without looking for the Times all other. So the most important thing is, to know/feel, how "strong/fast" and FAIR the other Drivers are. In my oppinion, if the Race are very fair, and the Pace of other Drivers are the "same" like yours, its not important what Strategie you take, it will be the same like others do, but.. if the Drivers are "ugly Pigs", you can win soooo much with an "clever" Strategie. I mean, if the Pace of the Field not soo fast but the Drivers are "ugly", you can win much with an very early Pitstop. Yes.. After your Pit, you are behind the other Drivers, but you have an free Road in front of you and can get your Own Pace without defense Line.
All others who get much later into the Pit, will be behind you. ( all what i say you have to look at your Tyre and Fuel Management for sure )

Race c makes it easier to avoid carnage as you can, to a degree, run your own race. If you qualify back half of grid, start on the slower rubber and don't fight anyone too hard who is up your cracker. Aim for clean air and ideally pit into clean air on the faster tyre and go mad, use all the grip to undercut folks.

If you qualify near the front run then softer tyre to try and build a gap to people doing the above strat.

Here are two races where I went for the undercut at this track and managed to make it work. I tend to chew tyres though so I am very racy early in stints then fall off rapidly, so that with an undercut strat and you dying in the last lap or two. As you can see I am slow through the left hander into the uphill "straight".

The second one in particular is a great undercut. The las couple of laps vs the Porsche is quality racing, the Yellow NSX driver is a member here and he was excellent too. The exit out of the last braking zone is absolutely VITAL as you can see. You MUST make your apex.

There used to be a time when driving in A/S following people made my laps faster, drafting in the slipstream pulling me beyond my usual lap times while alone on the track. I hate that it has changed completely, now when driving with A/S my lap times are 2 seconds slower than in B/S or alone on the track.

When you're on the racing line you have to brake late or a car dives in your inside. If there is a car in front of you and you can't brake late, you get pushed off by the car diving on your inside. So you have to always defend in such a way everyone is slow through the corner. Hug the inside as far as possible and pray you don't get punted or spun by someone turning in on you.

Racing has turned into a crap show, hence I frequently reset my SR to get away from SR.S where I end up back in DR.A where the majority of diving and shoving happens.

Same with pit strategies. It used to be, hang on to a faster car with fresher tires as long as possible, using his slipstream to keep your lap times up or save fuel so you can pit later or for less time. Then make more use out of the softer compound or do a no stop, fuel saving in slipstream. Nowadays it's when should I pit to get away from the mess :banghead:

I look at my old videos now and then and am amazed at the difference with today's racing. How it used to be

That was exactly my experience when I finally worked my way up to DR.A - the sportsmanship plummeted. Divebombed or pushed wide at every corner, you'd think you were back in DR.D but all the contact was intentional rather than from a lack of control. I also had the exact same solution and intentionally tanked back to DR.B (although it wasn't hard, I pretty much just let people push me off the track until I was at the back of the pack.)

I'm toying with trying to claw back up to A before GT7 releases, in hopes that they'll have something in place to improve the online racing again. Somewhat doubtful but after the big AI splash they just made, who knows?

Considering the AI drives just as dirty... (October showcase was rather embarrassing)

DR seems to be the new SR measure. Except the higher, the dirtier. (Top excluded, knowing each other helps keep it clean). Driving dirty works to gain DR points, Sophy proved it :ouch:

It's weird driving in SR.C and SR.B today. There is always a fast time on pole 1:19 or 1:20, usually DR.D, DR reset, sometimes an E/B account. When I get the lead, I get dive bombed or punted. Simple as that. Sometimes they ghost through me and I get to escape.

What did PD expect? Sports have rules for a reason. Stop enforcing them, and it's no longer a sport. I still enjoy the track though, collecting fastest laps is fun as well. And there are still people that will give a fair battle. Problem with racing from the back is, you always meet the dirty drivers, always.

Recently acquired DR A myself and commented immediately it seemed even worse. But it wasn’t like B was a clean racing utopia. I never played when penalties where a thing but I’d bite your hand off to have them back.
Just search YouTube for a certain Spanish driver and it’s proof that dirty driving is rewarded.

Yeah, I was yelling at the screen more than a few times watching the Sophy replays. The fact that so many things were allowed is cause for worry. There's still that optimist inside of me that thinks that PD is going to look at the Sophy events and rewrite track limits and how contact is enforced but then the more realistic side of me looks back over the time that I've played GTS and how it progressively got worse somehow.

I was one of those E/B guys this weekend - I started a new account for Tidgney's TCR team. I've been doing the Race C's at Barcelona-Catalunya. Mostly I just ran away from the field and felt bad about it. One of my frustrations when I first started playing GTS was that one or two people would just run away from the field making it impossible for legit D/C players to win a race. It took me something like 200 races before I got my first win. But my last race in DR.C I got divebombed hard at T5 (T-boned, really) and ended up in the gravel. I then got stuck in the midfield where it was a legit demolition derby at every corner. Absolute insanity.

Race C is easy. Hard tires which can last the whole race. Compulsory stop but don't change the tires and save 5 secs.
I’ll give it a crack. I really don’t like gr4 cars much and red bull ring didn’t seem special when I did a couple of laps earlier. I’m having to learn the track from scratch every time so when I pick a race I kind of have to commit to it.
