I’ll give it a crack. I really don’t like gr4 cars much and red bull ring didn’t seem special when I did a couple of laps earlier. I’m having to learn the track from scratch every time so when I pick a race I kind of have to commit to it.
I love gr4 Cars on Nordschleife,it feels sooo good. The Week of Nordschleife Group 4 Race Was my 2. Online Week at GTS and i was sooo... i lost my Words for. It makes So much fun to drive on "my" Track. I know the Nordschleife, but to drive it on GTS was an other Experience. I have to learn how the cars behave here AND of course how mean other players can be.
Now i love it and i'm very happy that this track also available on GT7.

What was GTsport online like when the game was released? Must have been a massive amount of players at launch.
The more serious crowd jumped in first. The first couple months were pretty clean with everyone still learning the ropes. The game had shared or no fault at the start. SR Down for both on contact. Penalties came later.

It started going downhill when the price reduced over the holidays, then PD introduced a ton of penalties in spring to clean it up. That shot up my DR as all the full on contact drivers kept getting penalties. However that also sparked tons of videos, penalties everywhere.

And sparked the creation of the infamous

And yep, the penalty system was very sensitive and often got things wrong. But it did clean it up for a while. People started fearing contact and driving too close on top of the car in front.

The penalties sucked though. There were no penalty zones, you had to bleed the time off by driving under speed during the race. If you didn't and you had more then 10 seconds pending, it would start increasing each second. So you had cars going slow and blocking in corners to bleed off the penalty, as well as half the field braking for the finish line since that was the most efficient way to lose the penalty, much better than getting the time tacked on to your finish time (rounded up, track limit penalties were in decimals all the way up to 7 seconds depending on where)

Anyway PD caved in to the pressure, tried different things but always failed to fix the root cause. The SR scale and only looking at the out come after contact occurs.

Going to see how fast I can tank my DR before tomorrow. I guess Race C would be the fastest way. I'll cut the circuit as much as I can from last place.
That doesn't affect anything though. If you want to reduce your DR without affecting your SR, just drive 1 lap, park in the pit for the rest of the race. It will take a while, but you'll steadily lose DR.

Fastest way, drive back and forth, get DR reset, then do one clean race hanging back on race C and you're already back in SR.B. Trundle behind to get to DR 1 and SR 99.

I'll be going for SR.1, DR.1, should be do-able by resetting to 3K 1SR first, then keep quitting the pre-race lobbies to get rid of the rest of the DR  That probably won't work as I still want to race, no idea when PD is going to update, which means needing to be 1/1 every day at 7pm

You can do 3 Race B's in an hour compared to Race C's 2. That's potentially losing DR to 48 people rather than 40.

Or you can do Sven's trick of getting a reset, that works, too.

I am a fan of the RBR. Its simple but there's nuance to it.

I see sardegna is hards, which at first glance is a shame but I tell you what that 5 seconds may well be made up by taking the fresh rubber. Could be interesting.

Yeah, it's tomorrow the 15th. Just made my decision this morning.

Anyone having issues with the Euro server? Connection seems flakey at best. Then again, maybe my ISP.

EDIT: It’s my ISP…sorry to trouble you.

Wondering if they are actually going to change? KudosPrime shows no change until 20th.
Odd, it does for me, converted to local times. Last race at 1:50 AM, first race Monday 14th at 2:00 AM.

My trip to SR.C and SR.B didn't last, stuck in SR.S again. At least with the B/S crowd now.
It does sharpen your awareness, racing in lower SR. These are the first laps of 2 races in SR.B during dirty hour

Good place to perfect the psych out manoever as well as driving to the last bit of the kerb to avoid a determined punter.

I learned a huge lesson today in Race C. You do not need to change tires during your pitstop, you just need to pit. Went 2nd 1.5 second ahead on the beginning of lap 10, got out 1.5 behind in 3rd place. Wondering what happened I took a look at the replay and found out that he didn’t change tires. Still went up 200 DR. Seems like I’m hitting a plateau around 60k-65k.

Noob lesson of the day.

Ha, yes. I got lucky on this. 2nd place pitted 0.5 behind me and I thought I'd have a fight on for 1st place. He exited pits 3.5s behind. I assume he changed his tyres lol. Gave me an easy win.

Tire wear on race hards this week doesn’t make a whole lot of difference at 2x. Atleast not comparing 10 lap worn tires versus new rubber. The more you know the say.

With all the time waiting for the pit stop, might as well have choices of all four, fronts or rear or sides only.

Started tanking my DR/SR last night, smashing into walls, taking shortcuts, and driving into the exit of the pits, at Catalunya. Three races there then one at Sardegna (where I got pole and finished last...) and I'm still DR B, but now SR C... Didn't think it would be such a long process! Especially when it often feels like you can drop big SR in a race while racing pretty aggressively but respectfully, then you go out and just ignore all the rules and drive like a complete Muppet and you have to work hard to get an SR down... ?

We’ll, screw that. My wife has us watching MAFS. Had done two races and now I’m stuck for the night.

I love the smell of racing in the morning. Especially Monday morning. The first 3 or 4 races after the change over are almost always clean.
Good, hard and fair racing with back and forth action is still amazing although rare these days.

5th race I got dive-bombed by an Italian in a F1, then he ran me clear into the wall on exit so I spun and was in the wall on the other side. From P2 to P17 in one corner.
I drove like a madman, repaid the favour on lap 8, was p6 on lap 10 then spun myself in the same, second to last corner, and dropped to p9 across the line. Exciting still.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

GT Sport Daily Races: Mazda Chief

As we barrel towards the launch of Gran Turismo 7, the latest set of Gran Turismo Sport Daily Races is now available, and this week’s events take on a special significance...

Again another week with Sardegna Track, shocking how repetitive those races are... Atleast we could have an option to create a track-category combo and if it got enough 'upvotes', it would eventually become a daily race but it's unlikely Polyphony will do that

Anyway it's too late to impress with the daily races, GT7 is here in less than 3 weeks 😎

Well I know where I will be spending my time this week. Race A of course, expect to see me more often this week @BenRod hehe

Just did a 1’10.497 with an optimal time of 1’10.381. The Miata is a blast to drive, much more fun than the Fit.

Race B should be fun too and I’m on the fence for Race C. I’ll certainly give it a try but I suck with Gr. 3 cars.

Seems like I will begin GT7 with a 61k DR, I don’t see the point of tanking my DR, maybe getting easy wins in the first days of GT7 but at what cost, the lobbies will probably be a wreckfest at launch. I’m just perplexed by the decision to transfer the ratings. I hope that the sport mode will change and be more than the 3 daily races.

I tried race A (because I missed race C sign up by a few minutes) started 8th, climbed a few places, got bumped off to last, got back to 8th where I finished with CRB. Not for me, slow slow slow. On to race C!

Goal for today, end at DR.1 SR.1 and stay there until GT7. Won't be easy lol.
