That’s good going. Just managed to dip under 1.40 on softs. Happy with that time. Need to practice a bit on mediums before I race.

Stupid but working Tipp....

Use TCM 1-2 and brake a little bit earlier but "softer" ... you will see, over all you can use Soft Tires easy for 6 Rounds AND you win with 6 Rounds on Soft ( if you get clean Rounds ) more Time as you loose for using TCM.
Thats my oppinion.

Did a race C. Started 9th finished 12th. Not too disappointed with that. For some reason my network was struggling and I had 1 dot which I found very distracting, and it’s all I could really focus on the whole race! (Router was stuck on a clogged channel)
I pitted after 3 laps as I was in a group of about 4 others and wanted to escape, ran softs for 7 laps and they were destroyed by the last lap. Thankfully I was in a bit of a space and avoided binning it. Bit annoyed to see a red s against my name at the end. Only contact I made the whole race was a bump draft to overtake someone; and I drove through a ghost so maybe one of those did it. Be nice if we had some sort of on screen indication of what’s hitting the SR.

We used to have SR down arrows. Hopefully they are back in GT7

Interestingly, 10 laps on softs on race C is faster than 10 laps on mediums, despite the softs being nearly gone at the end.

I miss no stops, just gonna stick with it. Heck in one race I finished 2nd with the 1 minute penalty  (Only one pitted the correct way, rest were doing no stop as well)

I cut a few tenths off my time to a 1:40.993. I stuck with BB +2 as that gave me that little bit extra to get the car around the corners. Since I was feeling froggy, I jumped into a race and was P12 on the grid. I didn’t think I’d be that far down. I was doing fine up until lap 4 on the final turn where I go a bit too wide and a bit to throttle happy and spun out. Dropped to P15 and cursed the very existence of that corner. I then fall to P17 after my pit, and back to P15 after pit stops cycled through. Through people fighting and crashing in the last few laps I find myself in P9 on the last lap! But I go too deep in the final corner and fall to P10. But I wasn’t going to hold on that spot anyway as P10 had the inside line on the corner. I’ll take that result after the past few miserable weeks of racing.

The racing was cleaner than it has been. The usual door banging which is all good in my book. I hit the wall in a few spots that slightly slowed me down, but that’s going to happen on a tight track like Sardegna. My tires were shot on the last lap, and I need to take better care of them. Seeing as that was my first race of the week, I’ll know what to expect next time.

Like many of you, after falling in the DR rabbit hole I decided to stop bothering with that nonsense and deleted Kudosprime from my favorites. I was refreshing right after every race looking at those pointless numbers go up or down.

I will still keep an eye on GTblade to compare my times, I like to be faster than the average time for my DR rating and it pushes me to improve as a driver. But no more looking at my DR after every race. I was holding up going into race C so I didn’t lose DR points. No more of that, its been three races and its liberating already.

Sidenote: Am I the only one that would like longer races but with street cars from Miatas to Supercars. I’m already tired of Gr.3 cars and I started playing last november.

Oh and I will still be using the meta car at all times but this week’s meta in race B, the FWD is definately not my cup of tea. Its been a rare time that my fastest car is not the meta. I’ll rep the Viper in Race B this week, not a FWD guy for sure.

I love Sardegna A. Such a neatly flowing track. I am strictly in the F1 so far as I find it such a blast to drive here. I've been running in both Asian and NA lobbies and the Corvette is fast becoming the meta in both. It is better in the twisty sections and on tyres, but the F1 exits better and can make up a lot of time in the last hundred metres of the straights.

In top split rooms some of the NA driving has been pretty questionable. A lot of diving at turn 1 and the first hairpin but one of the features of this circuit is that late braking costs a lot of time and the divers are almost always habitually late brakers. Asian rooms have been remarkably clean and respectful.

I've currently got a Q time of 1:39.3xx but I am consistently getting the left hander at the church slightly wrong. I can enter that turn ahead of the world record pace, but am always behind again by the next hairpin. Similarly the right/left complex before the final hairpin causes me problems. Fixing either of these will get me into the 38s.

In race I'm running 4m6s and generally find I'm making up a chunk of time on the meds as others are way too conservative with them.

@D_Dragline I'm sticking to the Lexus. It can easily out brake the McLarens without losing corner speed, has good acceleration, I can get in the 1:41 laps in race on softs with clear road, and do 7 laps on softs without too many issues. Corvettes are a bit harder to pass yet McLarens are sitting duck with their poor brakes. It's very stable in a fight as well

Just won one again. My favorite strategy, start on softs, pit end of lap 7 when all is clear and sprint to the finish on mediums. Fun thing in NA is that lower SR lobbies are generally faster than A/S. More fun as well, no need to be careful. Everyone is racing like it's their last day on Earth 🤣

Urrrrgh everytime I managed to get myself in a decent position tonight I made small mistakes that let faster guys close up on me. Basic errors, really annoying I dont have the pace in top splits to make those errors and finish top 10.

Well after grinding race C this week I can finally say I am DR A for the first time which I'm pretty happy about, was stuck in DR B for several months and I'm sure I'll fall back there soon but regardless, nice to see the A by my name for now.

Jaguar F type is a good choice for race C this week, that's what I've been using lately, have had two 2nd place finishes in a row, it can definitely hang with the corvettes and mclarens

Let us know how you find the driving in A. To me it seemed even worse than B.

It sounds really interesting that racing as an A driver is apparently less "tough" than racing in the B ranking.

I've been asking myself all these weeks how I'm ever going to get A and, above all, how I could even get A.

The B races are really tough and above all, many drivers fight very unfairly and bitterly. That doesn't go unnoticed by me either, so I tend to retaliate in the race if a driver drives very unfairly, pushes me away, or throws me straight into the sand with a dive bomb. In Race C, that happens all the time in the first corner. I guess the drivers know full well that when you fly off there it takes a very long time to get back in the race.
The stupid thing for me is that I can catch up with such drivers in a very short time, then it's not possible to overtake them fairly, because you're either pushed aside or they shoot you down again as soon as you've overtaken them.
What follows is that you yourself become "unfair" and have to push these drivers aside as well in order to get as much lead as possible. As a result, you lose time and the connection to the top.
Since things like that happen very often in the first laps, I start with medium tyres.

I kill tyres like no one else. The D-pad is BRUTAL on the fronts, just brutal. The mediums don't really last longer than softs in this game IMHO.
I used to kill tires worse on the DS4, but I steered with the sticks. Using a wheel now helps tires last a little longer, but not much. As I said, I'm an aggressive driver. That is not friendly for tires.

aggressive, but is usually not faster than even drivers.

Look at the old movie ( in German calls ) "Days of Thunder" 😉

I haven’t seen a Lexus so far. The cars I’ve battled against have been F1s, Corvettes, Mustangs, Vantages, DBR9s and a Huracan.

I might run some qualy laps in a few cars to see the difference.

@NevilleNobody Theres a church you drive straight at. If you listen closely you can hear its bells.

I am only Level D, so I don't know how qualified my judgement is, but the BMW M3 worked really well for me in Race C...(also the Jaguar)
