This is fascinating. So you're a solid 6 tenths per lap faster in the f1, amazing given its poor on tyres.

The gt, I am the same with the vette, lap time never there. Its a mystery the gt, should be a real threat but if time is not there, its not there.

Ran the Vantage in a race this morning and won. I love the car and it was good to me last time this combo came up. It's about 6 seconds slower for me than the McLaren across a race though.

The GT just does not work for me in this combo. I don't know exactly what it is. It feels fine when I'm driving it, doesn't slide or squirm much and just on perception I'd assume it's competitive but when the lap time comes up its about a second slower than the McLaren.

Gave the Aston a go, could get low 40s at best. Feels great to drive and put in what I felt were good laps but the time didn’t reflect that. Switched back to the F1 and hit 39.46 with a lap that had a couple or mistakes. I can see how sub 38 is possible. Tough track to hook up.

Is there some sort of issue in the AU/JP region? 4 daily races in a row I have been 'disconnected' from the race when going from warmup > start of race. I've checked everything and can not find an issue with my net on my end

I’m getting in no problem. Try clearing the in-game cache.

Very frustrating final lap of the week. Fast room, I am p10 wearing bib 15, I decide to try a medium start. Great first stint, it felt like those around me were also on mediums and the replay showed almost the entire grid on RM. Regardless, I was racing toe to toe with fast guys, making bold but clean passes, taking advantage of any little hiccup in front of me. End of lap 4, I am all over the guy in p6 and there's a 2 second gap to p8. I pit.

Reenter with a gaggle of cars up my clacker, this wastes the fresh softs but worse than that, when I do get some clean air and a chance to pump in times, I am just not feeling it and run poor laps.

Finish where I stated, p10 and fall just 150 points shy of my all time DR. Dang.

I'm going to try a different car this weekend, which I've never seen here from anyone using it in Race C.
Namely the Ford GT LM, for me this car is still underestimated and I hope to be able to drive it at least into the 1.40, which would be enough for me personally.
Compared to the McLaren, it always seems a bit calmer entering corners, but with enormous power exiting corners. Maybe someone has already tested it there....

Since there is still no BMW M1 and probably never will be, I can test other cars.:D

Didnt work unfortunately, all my PS4 games are fine for connectivity and the in-game connection test says no problem, I'm totally stumped, just getting disconnected at the same spot everytime.

I have finally done it! 1:39.851

With the Corvette. I’m not 100% sure why I got such a fast one, but last time I drove it, I was waiting for the revs to hit the limit before gearing up. But today I saw kie25 shifting a bit early and I tried to mimick that.

There's nothing like stupidity! Ran a perfect (for me) Race C, hanging in on P3 most of the race. Pitted and came out P7, but then made it back to P3 after the cars in front pitted. Finished the race in P3 only to see my position dropping and dropping due to a 1 minute penalty! WTH? Then I realized I had started on RS and just put fresh RS's on when I pitted! :banghead:

I did get a legit P3 finish a couple of races later. I still started on RS, but changed to RM when I pitted that time.

Oh mate, we've all been there!

Sorry someone here should have told you, yes the vette absolutely has to be short shifted. I use AT so likely that's the half second I am missing, the car never works for me. Those are really solid times though, other than the lap you clearly binned it, the rest are rock solid. That is very much DR-A pace in tough rooms.

Continuing to mostly run the McLaren. I can’t quite gel with the Corvette. There’s something about the way it transitions from braking to throttle that doesn’t suit me.

If the gearing on the DBR9 was slightly different it would be my car of choice. I find at the hairpins it bogs down in 2nd but slides in 1st. Everywhere else it is brilliant.

Have run a few races in NA today. Top 4 finishes in top split each time. DR on the Alt is up to 57k.

Still loving Sardegna.
Have you tried the Mustang?

Unlike the Vette the GT has to be revved far beyond what the AT do. The AT shifts when the bar turns blue and flash once or twice. The GT can run about 30-40 km/h past that in fifth gear.

@smcqueen46 Haha done it as well, then wonder on my second stint how I'm setting a fastest lap again on mediums. They weren't mediums doh. (Starting on softs)

Racing at Sardegna is hit and miss, literally  It's highly entertaining though as everything happens in each race. Dirty drivers, dive bombs, revenge hits, missed dive bombs, people fighting down the straights. Then it calms down a bit in lap 2 and becomes more organized. The hard part is to figure out who is dirty and who wants to race for the rest. Great close clean battles, ramming or both. It's never boring!

Some clips from the fun corner. Cheeky dive bomb in the second clip (was only planning to go side by side with the car in front of me)

The Lexus on softs can brake as late as at the 100 board, it's its strongest corner because of that and need to capitalize on it to do well. Either catch up half a second or more or make a pass.

Those are without the tyres wear though :P

I had my first race this morning, ended up 2 A+ and half the field A. I was in position 8 starting with mediums and managed to get myself up to 6 and then something that blow my mind happensed: Someone bump-drafted me on lap 2…for the first time this week.:eek::eek:

Usually they try to overtake me right away….hell, I tried bumping someone and he started break-checking me few days ago

Anyway, the race was super clean all the way. I conceded 2 positions by lap 7, but on lap 9 I think 2 cars went spinning after the first corner and I ended up 6th. My DR shot 1k to 25k which is a record for me.

2nd race just a moment ago was with an all Bs starting 4th and I made the mistake of starting on mediums and people were fighting and diving straight away, and the mediums I have trouble keeping the car from spinning. Pitted early end of lap 2 but the tyres were practically half gone by the end of the race and ended up last 18th. Lost 1.2k DR:banghead::lol:

Race C DR A, right now for me is throwing up grids where the pole sitter has a very low 1.38, I'll be towards the back of the grid (P12+) with less than 0.75 of a second difference.

Forgetting about DR has made such a difference to my races this week. I've just been getting my head down and sticking to my strategy (and race morals) and I've been coming out with top 10s and occasionally fighting for top 5 if it weren't for silly mistakes creeping in under pressure.

It's easy to forget everyone is human and won't match their quali time most of the time, and regardless of your doubts about your own ability, if you stay consistent you'll do well.

One glance at my DR graph will show how overcoming one's individual hurdles has been key in my gradual improvement over the years.

The GT used to be a real weapon. But with more practice I have been able to set a QT in the ballpark or quicker with the Corvette or Viper.
Why do you guys not use the GTR? I think it's a weapon.
If you can tame the slidey nature of the Nissan on corner exit, you might have a winner. When I try to use it, the boost or gearing makes the tires light up & kiss positions goodbye.

Next week's races are up on KP:
A: Lago Maggiore East II, N100 provided car, 3 laps
B: Dragon Trail Seaside, GR3, 4 laps, RM tires
C: Kyoto Yagiwa+Miyabi II, GR4, 8 laps, RH tires, mandatory stop?

Looks like I'd better turn a few laps before these come in. Three weeks in a row with Gr. 3 though....

Yeah there was one in my rooms last night and he was really struggling on exit, especially out of the first right hander and the lase tight corner.

May give Race C a go here, B will a Supra fest at speeds I cannot contend with in A room, guys are just brilliant around Seaside.

Didn't see him list the tire wear multiplier for race C. Looks like it's x4.

Some of those Supra drivers have the same trouble as GT-R drivers. So, Viper & Vette again.

I’ll do Race C one last time before my GT7 Digital download on the 25th. Then, that’s it. Won’t have the space to run Gr.4 Saturday.

Definitely the base PS4. Been keeping it clean for the past couple months, so it doesn’t blow up on me, when it reads the file size.
I should have room on my Pro. GT Sport is on disc for me. But it may be the last game disc I ever buy.

Is internet that bad in Australia that it takes 9 days to download? :P

I just went out to get Horizon FW and pre-ordered the anniversary edition while at the shop, but might just buy the digital version as well to play when it unlocks. In terms of $ per hour of entertainment it's still close to zero for me  I'm at about 3 cents per hour for GT Sport with both the steel book launch edition and digital edition. And that's only by driving time.

I have the luxury of keeping GT Sport going on ps4 pro while putting GT7 on one of those rare PS5 things. Still, not a trace of them to be seen in the store.

My GT DD pro wheel came early today. Took me a while to affix to my playseat challenge but up and running now. Steering feels much more precise and nuanced. Braking on the other hand is a bit of a struggle. (Standard pedal, not LC). There’s way more pedal travel. And to reach 100% basically having to stand on the thing. I really hope GT7 offers some sort of calibration.
