This is (another) one of those weeks where I really, really...really, really, really wish I liked driving FF cars....but I don't. 😁

Super curious as to what the future of GTS is. I highly doubt lights-out day 1 of GT7's release, but that sunset is out there somewhere.

GT5 and GT6 had the lights turned off 5 months after the next version came out. I assume multiplayer will remain going until then, but PD is quite quick in turning off the multiplayer servers.

I haven't been able to race in about a month but I will make time to get on track this week. Have't seen the race A crew in a while now, would be nice to race with you all before GT7 lands. Hope to see you all on track in Sport and soon in 7

Keep on keeping on :gtpflag:

I watched Tidgney's race guide earlier and expected carnage in Race B....but if you set a good time that puts your near the front you'll be fine. I know that easier said than done though.

On another note, i was in quite a few races with that Kimi guy....he actually won a race (after punting Onlyyolll off), every other race he just caused carnage.....my question is (and i wish i'd asked Tidge this in his chat earlier).......do any of you think gt sport creators making content on his dirty driving is just giving him what he wants ? or do you think its a good thing thing/a necessary evil for the growth of their channels ?

And a GT7 question....I've pre ordered it via playstation store, will the game just start downloading at 12am Friday or will it be ready to play at that time ? .....

The the scirocco feels good around LM. Managed a 2.03.7 which is bang on driver A average, ill take that given my struggles at this track.

Edit: it's the scirocco cup in the top split, literally 1 TT and 15 dubyas. Compulsory dive bomb into the banked turn, eventually repassed the guy but man, so annoying

You can start Downloading the Game since few Day´s if you buy the Digital Version from the Sony Store. So you can start gaming on Release.

As others as said, the outgoing GT game will get online play ended within a few months. I imagine if the GT7 dailies get popular quick & GTS gets empty, it may be faster than 5 months when the servers go offline.
Probably, it's fair to say he is giving most of them what they want too.
Personally, I like good, hard, close racing. Not a gag reel of getting spun out so other people can brag that they "got gud".

I have to admit I’m very reluctant to race when I know I’m guaranteed to lose between 500 and 1000 points a time. Set a time on race B after more time than I care to admit of 2.03.52, which sees me starting 13th so a bit discouraginag really. And the long right hander at the start of sector 2 is a bit of a mess. Everyone tries to outbrake down the inside and then carry too much speed and go deep ramming off anyone that tried to take the corner correctly

You're 2 tenths faster than me, if we were in the same region we would be paired every race. I too, am starting 10th to 15th, but DR not being hurt as I am racing half a room of A+ and the other half seem to be high A so my DR stayed steady despite averaging 10th place finishes last night.

Both big right handers are a mess, people come from miles back, it is insane.

This week is a disaster. Got caught up in the ramming and got rammed into the back of someone and they went off. Down to SR A. Next race room full of lunatics I could do nothing, more SR lost. 72 SR and a two thousand DR drop today.

Just ran race B again and am having a blast with that one. Was going to avoid due to FF meta, but, a recent lack of 'GAF' around DR compelled me to join the fun anyway. That's the point, right, having fun?? 😁

I'm at mid-B DR and a 2:04:999 lands me pretty far up the board (P1 - 8) and I'm sure that makes a huge difference. Started P4, ended P1 with fast lap + clean race (SR blue/S). Didn't get P1 until the final turn so it was a pure adrenaline run. Granted, it's only 3 laps but the F-Type has to be driven HARD to catch/pass the FF crowd.

Thats exact this what i say last Week. But others say " Its your faul you are to slow or/and to weak"
I'm sorry but since current losses don't seem to count in GT7, it's not that bad.
This week I'm only driving at the Nürburgring, the races there are also tough, but on this track it's good if you drive properly yourself and wait for the mistakes of others.

Quite An adventure this evening. And I’m Starting to see a flaw with the DR system. My low SR put me in mixed rooms so starting pole or top 3, adding a couple of hollow wins to my tally. I’ve now got more DR points than I started the day with. Back to 99 SR now after dipping to 72. Did one race back in the proper A room starting all the way up at 9th (Got my qualy down to 2.03.3) and bumper cars again. It’s hard to keep SR intact with this combo. To be honest I quite enjoyed my foray into low SR rooms. Nice break from the attritional nature of the normal races.

I see where you’re coming from now. I did wonder why you kept going back and forth with your ratings but I get it. the sort of plateau of mid level A is quite frustrating as you say. Just hanging on for mid pack finishes for dear life while trying to avoid getting murdered. GT7 dailies will be interesting. They’ve gone to the trouble of adding pit exit penalties; you’d have to imagine there are contact penalties. If they’re going to the PP route then they’ll need them or everyone will tune a top speed low handling rocket and bomb every corner forza style

Fun racing today. In one race a Beetle driver wanted to go side by side through the twisty bit, and he pulled it off clean. Not something you usually see on the US server. It turned out he's from Europe, one sensible driver in an ocean of pinball drivers.

Who ever you are, it was great racing with you today! A little push to get by the Brazilian worked great just before the Lauda left-kink. I ended up in the grass, still side by side with the Brazilian, but managed to squeeze by later. Some people simply don't want to leave room. I had one Corvette driver earlier that kept blocking and pushing me off every time I got a bit alongside that our lap times were down to 8:33 (from my usual 8:18). I followed him for over a lap, testing my patience

Anyway I gather 26K DR today, and back to 99 SR. Now it's time to purge it all again to keep the 1/1 streak going in case PD updates the ratings again. Race A has a turn around lane build into the pit exit lane. Perfect.

I mean for the content creators, quite a few of them have made their channels on the back of dirty drivers. I bet some of them are happy to see a name they know will take them out because it's guarenteed views.

Your only 0.4 off my time of 2.02.9 but there is just SO MANY drivers in the low 2.03's. (I'm 290th i EMEA & your 790th) I don't know how many laps you put in to get that, but i know i must have done at least 60, i wasn't stopping until i got a 2.02 as i kinda knew from last time we had this race it would be hard to pass anyone, and generally i've found from mid pack down people are bit more gung ho about the way they drive. The few times i was on pole i was able to get over a sec ahead of the pack within a lap....

Oh and i dunno if this is any help to any of you, but if you are driving an FF car if you come off the brakes when you're turning into a car the car will turn much more easily.......dunno why it's taken me 2 years to figure that out.

I was mid level A for AGES......I got the high DR B quite quickly and then i just plateaued, it is incredibly frustrating, but eventually it just clicks or you get lucky with a combo that suits you. I generally pick one daily race, stick to one car and do loads of time trial.

I'm gonna be so annoyed if the recent A+ plus rating doesn't carry over to GT7

only 4 tenths but it feels like a world away. About 60 laps is probably about right for me too and my optimum is in the 2.02s but I can’t string it together. I really don’t like FF cars and this is the first week I’ve really persevered so to be honest I’m pretty happy with the time. I’m regretting I didn’t put more time into sardegna a couple of weeks back. I eventually set a time that was seeing me start top 3 well above my car number, can’t remember what it was now but it was quicker than a lot of A+ times I saw on streams. I seem very combo dependant with my relative pace and it’s resulted in me effectively sitting out certain weeks which kind of defeats the object so I need to forget about my DR and just race a bit more.

Yeah, but if you rely on a garbage human being to be in a room with you in order to get views, then your hosting/driving abilities must suck.

Total misjudgement just now in a C race at the nurb.
I've been placed in the top three on the grid usually but this one had lots of much faster DR B drivers in it and I started 10th. I completely failed to allow for the extra speed I'd be taking into the first corner from starting so far back and my brake point was far too late😱...ploughed right through everyone.
Apologies to all concerned, a well deserved red S.

I love a good qualy lap but tend to put in about 3 to 5 laps per car then once I figure the car I want I just run my qualy laps in between races. Too much qualifying and not enough racing is bad for the soul and tbh when I pull of these crazy good qualy laps I get owned in the races anyway!

I agree re. combo, or in my case, more track dependent. There are tracks I cannot compete on for the utter life of me, I am DOG slow. SO not "struggling to run in top split" slow, more struggling to hang with B drivers slow. Namely;

Suzuka
Big Willow
Fuji
Laguna Seca
Nordschlife
Alsace

And I also have tracks where I punch well above my weight;

Austria
Sardegna
Bathurst
Spa

You can see the trend, I don't do well with fiddly or with medium radius corners that need smooth inputs and high mid corner speed. I lean heavily towards "point and squirt" or "chuck it in and hope she sticks and get on the gas early" type places. The last sector at Suzuka, I will lose 2 seconds a lap to A drivers.

For me, this week is going pretty well so far, it's tough, but I'm fighting my way back. It's kind of pointless, but it's also fun.

I'll just Race N24

Urgh. Gt7 dailies are open tuning. Super GT review showed the tuning settings menu and I audibly groaned. I can think of nothing worse than staring at that screen wondering what to do. I just want to race, and when i do no doubt I’ll be wondering if I lost because I’m slower or because my tune wasn’t good enough.

Dont worry Bro i think there will be enough Helper with optimal Tuning Setups.

You feel your Car, now you have to learn what Changes you need for what kind of Performance Changes.

All dailies? We can only hope they test around some different settings and that participation numbers are considerably higher when tuning is off.
