DId a Custom Race in the RC F. Quit after 5 laps. Tyre wear wasn't an issue. Lately, it's just been run what you like.

I had fun with the Viper and 4C at RBR wet. Big Willow was good not using the META(NSX was good). Will be the same for me this week. Going to try all the Gr.4 cars this week and All the real GT3 cars(plus the F1). I think the SLS GT3 will do good.

Anyone else finding the matchmaking is a bit off this week? I'm a bang average b Dr, yet every lobby iv had is split with b, a and a+, it's makes for very uncompetitive racing
Matching is by SR first. If you are less than 90SR at certain times of day you should expect to see higher or lower ranked drivers. Sometimes it's just the time of day. I had a race the other day with 2 A's, a C and a few D's. It was late so it was to be expected.

I think I finally to the point where I dont actually need a road map around St. Croix, but man is this one ultra confusing layout. I've only done a few laps in the RCF, but it seems good.
Race A is the usual mess. People sending it ok lots of places and trying 2 wide where it is definitely very very difficult to do at best.

Dont know that I will race too much this week as life intervenes, but I'm at least going to have my hands full getting used to the layout for race C. It's got just enough off camber corners and odd angles to be a hell of a skill test.

I am att :13.5 at ST Croix in the RZC, that car is fantastic around there, you can get on the throttle so early and carry a lot of corner speed.
The GTR has passed me in the first two sectors a few times but I catch up and pass in the final part from the decreasing radius turn onwards.
BB at 0 and tire wear is no issue.
There's been a bit of bumps though, got send back to p15 from p3 by a GTR that just send me off by not braking.
And another that just dove on the last corner and put me in the amco.
But otherwise it's been good fun, 3 races and 2k DR, SR still 99

Just about choked on my coffee!😂

For this week I'm focusing on Daily Race A so I did 5 races on my main account and as expected in those 5 races, it was chaos as these dudes were really going at it in terms of door banging and some shunt on the rear if they're not able to get the inside line in order to gain an advantage or positions.

But in one of those races, this moment was the probably the biggest oof moment I've seen in the last lap of a Daily Race because the driver in third turned in way too early (probably wanted to defend but I'll let the peeps judge this one) and it caused him to go through the penultimate corner and just T-bone the the second place driver and it allowed me to gain an advantage to finish P2.

Also here's my fifth and last race for today and it was alright.

I think I might sit out this week - I normally do race A, but I didn't really enjoy this combo when we had it recently and now that contact penalties are not a thing, punt to pass at the one braking point is going to be bad. I was getting frustrated enough with the two braking points last week. Didn't particularly like DTG II in the Manu a couple of weeks ago, and I would get blown out of the water in race C.
Campaign mode or Trackmania Turbo....?

The professional AI drivers tend to block, shove me which messes up my driving which I think is unfair. When that happens it could cause an accident. The professional/endurance league looks like it may be a doozy. Now sometimes I may accidently go too fast and run into cars, hope that's not bad racing. But I don't want to worry, it's for fun/entertainment purposes. But I seem to get a lot of barrier penalties in the Tokyo Expressways, it's annoying b/c I have to stop in order for the penalty to pass and then people pass me.

My daily race last week ended shortly thanks to a throttle flickering issue in my g29 pedals. Maybe I return to DS4 shortly.
I was having the exact same problem tonight. Costing me a couple of seconds a lap at St Croix. You most likely just need to take them apart and clean the interior. At worst a bit of contact cleaner in the pot.

There are a couple of good videos on YouTube that show you how to do it.

I'll just repeat...

Brilliant racing to be had here. It's chaotic at times because people aren't super familiar with the track, but when it works out, it's properly great :D This daily and the Gr.1 St Croix C one are easily my top two of 2021 and maybe all time. Shame I was absent for Gr.3 St Croix B. Moral of the story, use these tracks more :D

I only had an hour to mess around today with various cars and used the Jag for about ten laps to get my quali to 3:12.060. And that was a lap with some massive mistakes in the final sector. I think a 3:10.x or so is very realistic.

Jag is good for me. The Porsche's gearing felt off, I won't use the Toyota based on principle, and the GT-R has too high of a skill barrier for me at the moment.

Last time we races group 4 at gardens II it was surprisingly good, though I was a bit slow. I used the M4 at the time as it is quite agile. Not seeing a lot of interest here, has been good?

Will try and get on tonight.

Good combos this week, poor racing tonight though.

A:
Q8. Got a good start and was looking at the top 5. However as I expected seeing a few of them in the lobby a driver from a certain sunny country to the south barrelled into the hairpin lap 1. I get hit and spun into the inside barrier. 5 seconds down in DFL and no way to make it up. Thankfully a couple more come to grief and get back to 9th and not last. Just.

B:
Decided on the 650S as I haven't used it in a while. Felt good and it takes Istanbul beautifully. Q8 again. Another good start is ruined. My mistake this time. I am nudged wide by an ambitious competitor through the last turn. This ruins my T1 a little and I am then on the back foot. A GT-R passes me. I am quicker through sector 2 but cannot pass even though they are braking where I do not need to in certain corners. They then muck up the chicane and I also glance the sausage. However my car spins where theirs does not. I loose places and my race is over from then on. Finish P9 again.

C:
Hopped in the Toyota and could only do 1 slow lap. Q14.
Essentially you can be quicker than them in 1 corner and they are quicker in another such is the unfamiliarity of the track. The car was more twitchy than normal and mucking up the left after the long straight caused me to bounce off the barrier so again my early gains were ruined. Will try a better more stable car going onwards.

Is @FractalSalt in the house? I had a incident with him before, I would call it a racing incident but I am not sure he agrees.
Unfortunately it cost him a podium at least.
I have shared my replay on my NA account, TPC_RacingGranpa. But since I was in Europe I suspect that lag might made it look to him as if I drove into him...
We where clearing the second to last corner, the Hard right and when we entered the sweeping left leading to the last corner there was room on his left and I tried to use it, he shut the door on me and while I didn't have much overlay I didn't really had anywhere to go, because I was sandwiched between his very good looking Mustang and the Amco.
Unfortunately it cost him at least a podium.

Maybe I should have waited for you. Anyways I'm sorry.

B is fine. As I suspected, the STI is majority of the field.
Used the F-Type and RCF. Both fast, but being bumped in the rear bumper, got annoying.
We'll see how I go for the test of the week.

Race C is the best. It equalises the field. I'll jump in the Ford GT.

Did a few Race Cs in the RSR last night. It's such an addictive combination. I love it, but it doesn't love me. A lot of unintentional punting and nudging because people aren't yet comfortable with the track. The only thing I would say though is that I think it's very bad form to accidentally punt someone and then immediately overtake them as they recover. The one filthy lesson I learned was, don't let someone take your inside onto the bridge. I got intentionally pushed into the end of the barrier by a peanut in a Vantage.

It also didn't help that my throttle is on the blink and would occasionally refuse to fully open. I expect I'll be spending a lot of time here this week because it's such an interesting challenge.

I'm still learning the track on Race C. Not today, maybe tomorrow. Still lost.

Tried another Race A. Started 7th/finished 10th. Ugly race. After a while I just let everyone pass. And still got blamed for something, they claim twice. Went back and checked the replay and looks like they had a beef with the other black car.

That race C  First few races were 1st to last reversing competition, I tried to get good result with the lambo.
Man that thing eats its rear tires. Also few little mistakes and one spin at last corner did not help

Jumped in a GTR and got some good results, best was p2 in the top split lobby, was 4th at the final straight, when mr quinten and mr murdoc decides to take each others out.

Did also one back to front with my alt, ended up in p3. Did qualy and 3 races, 2x p1 and one p2. Got 2 traclimit penaltys on the p2 race... Alt is now at 42k so will soon be at the top split also.

Man. Been running race A in the Americas, it is down and dirty wreckfest in there. Had one regular troll in a few races brake checking and ramming people into the walls, claiming "good hard racing" and "I only punt dirty drivers."
Attempting to pass him would be considered dirty. Staying close would be considered dirty.
His sole measure of success is winning, and if he cant have p1 then no one else can and he will quit.

And other people are taking their cues from him, I'm still having some good wild racing and getting mostly solid results, but still have the occasional incident where I'm hit at the braking zone or the mini chicane so hard I end up stopped facing the wrong way on the track.
Here's the graph from this cowboy who considers himself a clean racer. He cant even keep his rating up with the system mostly off.

Edit: here is a clip of when things look good and everyone is nice enough to let me through. It isnt all bad times, fun is there to be found.
