Man, decent pace in Race B but I CANNOT string 2 good laps together. I keep falling off the road and losing a ton of places. I'm messing up my entry points and either sliding off or cutting the corner. It's weird as last time we ran Group 4 at this track (many moons ago) I rattled off 7 laps within half a second time difference (I kept the replay) so I thought i'd be OK here.

oh well, more practice I guess.

Man. Been running race A in the Americas, it is down and dirty wreckfest in there. Had one regular troll in a few races brake checking and ramming people into the walls, claiming "good hard racing" and "I only punt dirty drivers."
Attempting to pass him would be considered dirty. Staying close would be considered dirty.
His sole measure of success is winning, and if he cant have p1 then no one else can and he will quit.

And other people are taking their cues from him, I'm still having some good wild racing and getting mostly solid results, but still have the occasional incident where I'm hit at the braking zone or the mini chicane so hard I end up stopped facing the wrong way on the track.
Here's the graph from this cowboy who considers himself a clean racer. He cant even keep his rating up with the system mostly off.View attachment 1076094

Edit: here is a clip of when things look good and everyone is nice enough to let me through. It isnt all bad times, fun is there to be found.

I've seen the Himalayas before in regards to DR/SR but nothing like that. Looks more like a wall that would move slowly towards Lara Croft!
A lifetime ban would be too lenient.

Just a fair warning should you choose to do Daily Race A in the Asia-Oceania region, there's a player that's been very aggressive with the overtakes and would do everything he can to overtake even going as far as doing brutal door banging and rear shunting to gain positions.

This one felt satisfying to get a dub because the dude I overtook in the end was the same player who costed me a win yesterday (the aforementioned aggressive player).

Also that was my 150th win. Couldn't be sweeter than that.

Especially alarming is the past few months where you have to work IMMENSLY hard to drop below SR-S, i mean it'd damn near impossible.
I raced a guy last week several times who was fast and clean, but managed a -26 SR in one race. He was punted at turn 1, bumped out of the way again while getting up to speed and punted again while trying to come back through the field. Not a single act of aggression on his part.

You were right to go defensive immediately, was very clear he was gonna chuck it up the inside and push you off if he could.

Really? Man, I have seen people behave like absolute LUNATICS and relentlessly stay at SRS. I was reset some 6 times in 100 races but have not been below SR90 since the system went missing about what, 3 or 4 months ago?

He quit after getting shoved off track to last on lap 6 or so. I think we both got punted in the same incident at the start, hence I saw most of what happened to him. The SR downs just seem so random - I got pinballed from 1st/2nd down to 8th or so several times on lap one, but only once did I end the race with -SR. Funny enough, the race after the one above, I came second to a guy who finished with -18 SR.

Oh I know that guy. He really quits early if things does not go into his plans. I remember one time he pit maneuvered a player and then after a lap he just quit but like you said, he's a fast and clean dude just that he really hates it when his race goes from bad to worse.

He only quit once in the races we did together last week, and that was only after being spun for the second time. His problem was that he insisted on using the Scirocco, so even starting a spot behind him the Megane could be first to the braking zone at turn 1 every time.

I know that troll well. U get used to knowing how he moves and the kind of filthy crap he likes to try. He was unusually good at Pit Maneuvering himself at BMB and BB raceway when I was having run ins with him. Definitely one if those to avoid, and great to see you just beating him.

Two races so far today. One in which I started and ended P3. P4 was a good twenty seconds behind

Second race, I ragequit. It was too nasty. I ended up slamming into someone when they were doing a horrible re-entry and so I left.

I tried hotlapping again and the anger got me down to a 3:08.7 from a 3:12 so I will try one more time. Like an insane person, I will try again.

Edit - OF COURSE I'm having an awesome, fun, clean race after and disconnect on lap 3 because my ISP sucks! Screw you Rogers.

Edit 2 - I had to quit yet another race. This is out of hand. When will PD put in the pen system again?

Edit 3 - I've had two great races in a row, including a win. This track is awesome and don't sleep on the Jaguar.

Bumming hard right now. Looks like a real fun week of racing but alas, I’m working 5 of 7 days this week (24 hour shifts), so my racing will be extremely limited. Probably just gonna focus on race B because of the quick turnaround…. But c looks like an absolute hoot!

On another note, I got back on the bike today. I have roughly 6 weeks before I do the 24 hours of Glen Helen in the Ironman class 🤮. I need to get in shape fast as I haven’t been on the bike in 4 months. Plus, it was the first time at the track in the new van. AT LEAST I LOOK LIKE I KNOW WHAT IM DOING NOW 😂

Sweet van, dude. It's about time Transit caught up to the Sprint. My buddy was psyched when they got him one for work.

For sure. In the surfing and moto world, it’s becoming about a 50/50 split of transits vs sprinters. However, when it comes to AWD/4WD…. It’s still firmly a sprinter market for now.

When I decided to order a van 9 months ago, I was convinced I was gonna order a sprinter. But because I’m cheap, I decided to do my research…. And my research led me to a Transit.

Equal fuel economy.
Better fuel availability (transit it straight gas)
Equal tow/hauling capacities
BETTER 4WD/AWD system (big deal for me)
Cheaper by 15K

Easy decision for me. I’ll use that 15k saved and that’ll cover most my buildout.

Besides, that 3.5L twin turbo I ordered for my transit is an absolute beast!

Definitely a no brainer and it certainly sounds like they more than caught up.

Much better night st gardens, tried several cars but yeah, wrx by far the best, not just fast but compliant over bumps.

The race below was pretty good, barely put a wheel wrong. It is also a good example of how much road I use, with AT and dpad, I need to use a LOT of road. I thought thr lap 1 pass was pretty sweet.

Did a Race A from the back on my alt account, turned out to be a lobby full of A and A+ drivers in NA at 11 pm? Anyway one car stalled on the grid, five cars took each other out on lap one and two; I stuck in the draft of P5 but couldn't ever get by. One of the crash-ees caught me up and tried a dive bomb but it was an easy over under defense. Was purple on L7 but someone went purpler on the final lap, oh well.

I think this combination would make a fun FIA event at 35 or 40 laps with a reasonably high tire wear multiplier.

Fun half a lap at St Croix  I'm not fast but can be bloody stubborn...

If it was me, I'd be a bit put off by some of their moves. Nearly pushing you off track? Thanks toolbag. The 3 wide stuff was not "basic" driving, it was desperate to look skilled to his YT supporters. I guess I can be glad that my account isn't so popular.
Last time we races group 4 at gardens II it was surprisingly good, though I was a bit slow. I used the M4 at the time as it is quite agile. Not seeing a lot of interest here, has been good?

Will try and get on tonight.
The last time this combo came up, it greeted me with a trio of wins. I had the best luck qualifying with the WRX, but won in the WRX, Corvette, & of course...

What?! Your transits have a 3.5 twin turbo engine?
Ours are 2 litres with maybe a small turbo for aesthetics.
It is your government. Don't feel bad, the rest of the EU does it too. They tax vehicles based on engine size. This, plus much higher fuel economy regulations help to explain why Top Gear is notorious for comparing hot hatches from the '80s to a modern Vauxhall Astra diesel. At least your Transits wouldn't need to stop at the fuel pumps as often. :D

I would never have thought the Road Tax would be the cause of a purpose built European engine for a van.
TBH I've driven a few transits and never thought they needed anything other than what they had. I like most Fords tbh. Good cars.
Only the Ka and Kuga deserve the perpetual scrap heap.
