If it was me, I'd be a bit put off by some of their moves. Nearly pushing you off track? Thanks toolbag. The 3 wide stuff was not "basic" driving, it was desperate to look skilled to his YT supporters. I guess I can be glad that my account isn't so popular.
The toolbag was the Jag pushing up the inside of both Kie & Max, forcing them both towards the edge of the track.

Sure it is. Manufacturers tend to downsize engines for europe as larger ones or more powerful ones attract taxes and lower demand.

No one needs more than a 1.5T in any car these days, not about needs, but who doesn't WANT 3.5T in their van?

Fun half a lap at St Croix  I'm not fast but can be bloody stubborn...

Great, clean, hard racing! Good stuff. Ollie had to force the issue 3-wide there as your battle with Kie was holding him up, and it had gone on for a bit. I'd have done the same, and even when things got tight, it was clear all three of you were leaving space for the others while still competing hard. Nothing out of line in that sequence at all. Bet it was fun.

You enjoyed a real star turn in @Tidgney's video this week, too... drifting for the fun of it, I think. Good to see you mixing it up with everyone.

I would never have thought the Road Tax would be the cause of a purpose built European engine for a van.
TBH I've driven a few transits and never thought they needed anything other than what they had. I like most Fords tbh. Good cars.
Only the Ka and Kuga deserve the perpetual scrap heap.
My negative opinion of Ford goes back to my days of working on older models & not having as much knowledge about them as I did with GM products. Ever since the '94 Mustang debuted, my opinion of them has gotten more favorable.

The toolbag was the Nissan nearly sweeping Max off.

Why limit yourself to only 6 cylinders?

Not the Jag easing the Nissan into Max? No? That car had no effect at all?

I guess your contempt for the Nissan driver blinds you a little.
I was calling the Nissan the toolbag for almost forcing Max off on the first pass. The Jag was desperate to pass another YouTuber for the joy of his fans during a possible live stream or certainly a video to be posted later. I have contempt for both of the drivers trying to pass Max. While there was no major contact, it sure seemed like they wanted to prove that they were "better" drivers to their throngs of subscribers.

I don't think we were holding him up, he had only just got onto the back of our battle but you have to go for it when the chance is there. I doubt he even knew we were 3 wide to be honest since I was quite far back and on the worst line at the braking point.

It was marginal but I have no complaints, 2 wheels on the track is enough for the game to not give you the bad dirty tyres. Nobody was deliberately pushing so I'd call it hard racing

I had driven into the bridge, turned out Tidgney had done something similar too so we only had each other to race for last place. Him accusing me of blocking an ambulance was wrong though 🤣

That's how people race in top split, and how real racing goes. You get your car width plus 6 inches and no more. It's tough racing but Max gave him the same treatment. If anything kie was a bit more accommodating than a certain WDC I could name has been this season... ;)

The first pass? As they come off the bridge? You're joking, right?

The last time this combo came up, it greeted me with a trio of wins. I had the best luck qualifying with the WRX, but won in the WRX, Corvette, & of course...

It is your government. Don't feel bad, the rest of the EU does it too. They tax vehicles based on engine size. This, plus much higher fuel economy regulations help to explain why Top Gear is notorious for comparing hot hatches from the '80s to a modern Vauxhall Astra diesel. At least your Transits wouldn't need to stop at the fuel pumps as often. :D

They don't. Taxes are based on emissions not engine size.
The reason we have a smaller engine in the transit is because that's what it was designed around. Then they decided to sell it in the states and therefore stuffed a bigger engine in it.

This week's Race C has been the most fun I've had with this game since a few weeks ago when it was on Nurburgring GP. Even better. For anyone being hesitant because it's a strange track, don't be. There is so much door to door racing to be had.

Is anyone else finding that GTBlade is currently buggy? It seems to think my qualy in Race C (3:07.2xx) is 1:56 slower than the best time!!! It's also clearly not showing me the right rankings.

3:08.119, which is 5.9 seconds off from #1 time. I'm not great at math but it seems legit.

Btw, which car did you use?

It is correct for Americas and is broken for Asia. For Asia it says I am off by about two minutes ( 01:54.781 ).

I am using the GT-R. The Hyundai Genesis is pretty quick and more forgiving. Right now I am about one or two seconds slower but it just needs a little practice.

Edit: the tool author is @Jim_bilzerian and I have let him know.

Maybe I will try the Hyundai tomorrow. It's cool how I learn something every week I partake heavily in this game.

This week, I've learned that I have a tendency to always either hold on to the brakes for a bit too long, all the way to the apex, when trail braking, or have my foot on the gas, even minimally, during a turn when on certain turns, I should be coasting to rotate. Sometimes no input is the correct input.

Ah well a lot of American Ford models never crossed the pond.

It always seems buggy to me. About 90 odd percent of the time it only pulls 1 time up. And 100% of those times it is the time I'm not there to check.

Before the FIA last night I had time to do a quick Race A. I met a polesitting @Barney Da Dog He somehow ended up back towards me in 7th. We had a good battle with a Spaniard which did allow a couple more to catch up. I was ahead of him for all of half a lap, honest.
Was good racing with you.

Ah, great to meet someone from here 😀👍 I'm not sure if that was one where I got punted, or I ran wide and lost speed on before the braking zone.

T'was the only reason I said hello. That in itself seemed to make a Dutchman jealous.

With the exception of @RacingGrandpa (once) I don't think I've ever seen any of you lot in the daily races ... I'm sooo lonely 😅

I've been having a go at Race C so far this week , first one disaster where I kept Crashing , second one where I started 5th , finished 6h both of these were in the GTR , which to be honest I found far too squirmy out of the corners for my skills. Switched to the Vantage, knocked a second off my time to get to 3:07.5 ish and managed a podium straight out, second race in the Vantage I made the mistake of going in without doing a couple of laps as a result I qualified in 3rd ended up 12th I think... Note to self, If I'm doing an unfamiliar track get at least 20 mins practice in before each session

Got my race B down to a 37.7 which is half decent but it's half a second shy of "clearing the pack" in A/A+ rooms. As a result I am often starting bottom 5.

2 races last night, started around P13, wearing bib 14 or so, I fight, claw and scratch my way to P9 or 10 then in one race I binned it on the inside of the last turn on the 3rd lap and finished last and in the other race I was hit up the rear into the chicane on the last lap and finished last.

Bled SR like a sieve, down from a personal high of 40,300 to 37,500 dammit.

I'm only trying Race C this week if it's compatible with my SatNav 😂

I'll look out for you. I also use BarneyDaDog occasionally in an effort to maybe get an A rating.

Barney_Da_Dog hovers around mid-B but occasionally plunges to low C if the tracks don't suit me and the motion control.

I'm hovering mid-B at the moment (17-20k usually). I think I spotted you in a daily race last week. I'm usually on most nights after 10pm.

@GOTMAXPOWER was not left racing room within track limits.
Every time I’ve raced him though he has left me racing room.
I think the inside car running out wide to track limits forcing Max off was because they were streaming.
You are right. Had they carried less speed to leave room it would have been fair.

I don't see many. And it's usually FIA that I have been. When most people seem to have reached A and I have hit my glass ceiling then it's rare to see many others in B. Especially as B is the most populous of the active users. (I believe)
Most of the time I have shared a track with another GTP user is in the special events created by users here or in a @Seth_Logan or @LVS_1986 special FIA lobby.

I run into some of you guys from time to time, but I run in two regions so I double my chances.
I run as Resident_Knievel in EMEA and as RacingGranpa in NA. In EMEA I almost exclusively race DR B racers, because I race at daytime, while in NA I get to race a wide variety of racers, as I run about 3am EST.
It's not uncommon to have A+, A, B, and C in the same race.
