I just did DR A. There was a driver who got a 1.5 second penalty for barely side swiping me. I mean he barely even touched me; my line didn't even change. Yet when he "hit" me, it gave him a 1.5 second penalty. That's a bit excessive, IMO. Ramming from behind? Yes. Give them a penalty of at least 1 second if not 2. But getting a 1.5 second penalty for just barely touching another car when you're at the very exit of a turn? That was an unnecessary penalty in my eyes. I started 3rd and finished 5th (due to me running wide at one point). So I was happy to have only lost 2 places.

Race 2 (again, DR A), I started 3rd and finished 3rd; my 1st podium finish. It was a pretty clean race. I don't think anyone got a penalty in that one; or at least none that I saw.
My experience in my last race.... red bull ring, started 3rd first 2 cars ran wide at turn 1. Pole car remained in first but recieved a track limit penalty. I moved into 2nd. Coming out of turn 2 just before the penalty zone 1st braked hard in front of me so I would hit him to slow me down. First d#*k move. I then took the lead but going into turn 3 he made absolutely no attempt to slow down with the intention of ramming me off the track. Which he succeeded in doing. No penalty for him and he went on to win the race. I dropped down to 10th, fought back to finish 4th. Appalling. I also lost SR. This game has been out for 4 years and they still can't get the penalty system right?

@BloodRaven 1.5sec is the standard penalty for hitting the wall. Maybe they clipped a wall just before your interaction? Also, when they were in effect, collision penalties were generally not applied for several seconds after the contact.

Due to lack of time I usually don't do Daily Races much, but this weekend I jumped into race B on my alt (mid-A DR, main being around 60K).

I used the 458 as I'm tempted to go Ferrari in FIA next year (or rather in an shorter exhibition series this winter) and it's a tricky car to drive with others around, but I think it's a good way to improve throttle control.

Anyway, I first started from the back with no Q but the awful driving standards quickly forced me to set a decent Q time (28.2xx) that was enough to put me towards the front in the following races, where I thought the quality of racing would improve.

BOY was I wrong! For those who regularly do dailies, how do you deal with the sh**show this has turned into? Divebombing at EVERY corner, from 2-5 tenths behind if not more, blocking, never leaving room on the outside when defending the inside, etc.

I'd have stopped playing this game a long a time ago if FIA didn't exist (not perfect but a 10000× better experience overall).

Is race C any better, being longer maybe, closer to FIA format ?!

I think there are a lot of newcomers who bought the game on the cheap and play it like it's need for speed. And don't really give a f*#k. Gt7 can't come out soon enough.

Just lost a podium finish due to that. Driver came flying into the corner, hit me, we both go off the track (well, the racing surface, anyway; Turn 1 at RBR). He gets not penalty, but I lost a position, down to 4th. It pissed me off because I was in the slipstream of the 2nd place car and could've made a fight for it. But dude just takes me out and takes a podium spot. And 1st and 2nd place go on to open a HUGE margin on the rest of us. I just don't get the thinking of people like that. It's like they're OK with just getting a podium spot. Just being on the podium is good enough. Me? I'd rather fight for a higher spot if I can and do better and be better. But NOT by divebombing another driver and taking both of us out to where we can't make up any more positions; of possibly lose more positions. It's just asinine. I guess he'll tell all his buddies how he finished in 3rd. But he'll conveniently leave out the fact that he had to take out another driver to get there. If I hit someone, and they get thrown off the track, I'll slow down and let them pass me. I did that in DR A yesterday. And by doing so, I lost 4 other positions. But it was the right thing to do. And if that makes me naive, or gullible, or dumb/stupid, then I'll take it. I'd rather do the right thing than take a win or a higher spot by taking out someone else.

So I'm doing DR A, and we're on lap 6. I'm in 8th. The guy ahead of me hits a cone that'd been thrown onto the track, and his car goes straight up in the air about 10 feet. Funniest damn thing I've seen in a while, in this game. I lost some time just from laughing at it.

Just did DR B. Started 2nd, finished 2nd. My highest finish, so far. There was 1 tiny little bump at the very 1st corner, but other than that, it was a clean race. I got barely nudged by 3rd place as we were going into the turn, but not even enough to take me off the line or even slow either of us down. The 1st place car (McLaren P1) drove like a mad man. He took off and I finished almost 5 seconds behind him. He was driving a perfect race. I was in the Viper, again. I finished more than 7 seconds ahead of 3rd. All told, a very good race for me. That's my 2nd podium finish. I'm really hoping to either qualify in 1st or finish in 1st one of these days.

Well, no sooner had I posted that, and I went into another DR B.....and I got my very 1st win. I started 3rd. And on lap 3, the top 2 cars ran wide at turn 3, and I took the lead. I couldn't believe it when it happened. It wasn't done by racing and passing other cars on the track, but I'll take that 1st win. I also set a fastest lap, but someone set a faster one on the next lap. That would've been my 1st fastest lap, as well, if it'd have stood.

I finished .065s out of the top 100 quali times in NA a few weeks ago when we had Group 3 cars at the Mountain, and all of .003 behind GOTMAXPOWER on his Canuck account ... lets see if we can correct both of those things this week. ;)
So I didn't have a whole lot of time to run laps this week what with family stuff going on from Thursday through today; I'm about 8 tenths out of the top 100 at the moment, lets see if I can mount a heroic late night comeback.

Decided to set a Q time for RBR this morning because I was tired of chasing the back of the unpredictable pack in C class at 29.1xx.

Won my first 3 races from slot one. And officially made it to B in short order. Hoping for better races in B I was excited. Ran a few good ones. From slot one and two. Then hit quali again to work on a inside line in T2 and T3 and clicked off a 28.6.

The rest of the day was hit and miss. If I was out front by .5 they couldn't catch me. Otherwise I would get dive bombed in t2 and 3 because I brake correctly from the outside line. It's funny how hard people push their cars. If they would slow down a bit they would be much faster if thy practiced a little theory.

Anyway. Today was my best by far. I'm still a bit nervous on track but my pace is improving.

6 wins
1 p2
1 p3
1 5th spun out
1 15th because some boner I beat earlier pushed me into the kitty litter in t3.
And I think I set fastest lap in all but 2 races.

So.. 20 races under my rookie belt in two weeks and I'm digging it and I'm a bit proud of my Kudos Prime for being way behind the online racing curve.

Thanks for your replies, I always tell my "real life" friends how my GT experience is different from other online games I've spent some time on, like football or shooting games, how players are more mature, respectful in general. To me, it's more like a sport, where I'll be all sweaty at the end of a race (using a rig) but also the spirit that goes with it.
But I guess that Dailies attract more casual players who just play this like it was NFS as mentioned here haha.

Still an awesome game though, I just love it!

Just doing Fuji to watch my cars in replays. This one is a bit boring. 'Round and 'round with no real thrill. 16/16 in the Cayman. A+/A room with most of the field in nimble cars. Only one Vantage and one Huracan. Slophys, 86s, VWs, TTs. I followed a 650S. He signalled for me to pass, but I just hung out the back.

Having good fun doing my own Arcade Mode Fuji Time Attacks this morning. Zonda R, P1, ZL1, Ford GT '17... wish I could put them all in one race

Just had a Lancer in my rac. Spun off though. Should be good.

Ran th R8 LMS. 16/20 NO qualy started on RM. Lots of players making mistakes. An AMG GT started behind and I let it go. Was up to 10th by Lap 3. Gap was 10 seconds to the next car behind me.

Pitted early, to undercut the AMG. Switched to RS and came out 16th, behind cars yet to pit. Kept my distance with a bit of pace.
After the mid-race pit stops, A Supra and RC F came out ahead of me in 6th & 7th.
RC F was going Ching and the Supra moved out the way. Next, the RC F was struggling for corner exit grip and I got by.
Chased down a P4 Vantage(player I played often) and stayed on his bumper incase he made a mistake. Almost lost it after the bowl hairpin. I let him recover and we finished hundredths apart.

Edit:Race B in the Viper 15/15. A/S room and it's all VWs top 10. That means equal everything with everyone trying to fit in the same space all race. Angry players post race.

As soon as I saw the list, I knew I was going to skip Dailies this week.
As I've been doing for I don't know how long now. I don't understand why they're keeping the NX00 free car choice events exclusive to FIA races, they would allow for some good old stupid fun in the dailies.

If anyone is going to do Race A: You need to shift when the rev meter is about halfway across the scale as the Copen just doesn't have any power at higher revs. The guy at the top of the leaderboard never drops it below 4th gear.

Was happy to hear that race C was finally going to have some strategy.....was less happy cos I didn't check the detail and tried just using meds. Loads of others got a pen. Still decent race and going to try a 3/7, from what Womble said 2/8 is maybe possible for someone great with tyre and I'm terrible so this could be a laugh. Still 10 laps on meds wasn't too bad and it's a pity that option isn't available as it's about equal in time with bigger risks so it would make the race more interesting.

Yeah....I'm on the same boat now as well because I was hoping that the FRs would have a shot at winning but it seems that after a couple of tries, it's still Scirocco-ville and what @Baka_Marimo and @D_Dragline said pretty much describe what I experienced for today's Daily Race B that made me want to call it a week this early.

Just won Race C in the Corvette, started 4th, low B/S. 6 laps on softs got me back out in 2nd, then 1st after the leader spun.

Edit/ was leading another one til I got a phone call for a PCR test! Guy at work tested positive 🙄

Also somehow won an A race after a great 2nd lap that gave me enough of a lead to hang on for dear life til the end.

I don't have much hope for Race B though..

Did 1 Race B this morning. Started/finished 2nd. Lucky to get away at the start. Had a good race.

Probably will try Race A later. Weird combo. But it's different.
