DA's Super GT Series|PURE Spec 1.0|Last Round 4/14

I would definitely say there was a pace advantage to the "T1" cars, but they were hard to keep on track. I was running low 53's in a practice lobby, but just kept getting bit by the penalties in the race, leading to more frustration and more penalties later.

I was able to get 5 laps per stint on softs. Granted, i had to tone down my laps a bit to save tires. Think i was running 56's during the race which was a good 3 seconds off the pace that i could have run. But overall, the SC430 is much easier to handle compared to the NSX's and probably Supra (haven't driven it). The NSX is scary fast but is a challenge keeping the back-end from kicking out.

My thoughts entering the race were....Long race, Drive smart, no need to push or force errors and lets see how it shakes out. Happy with my finish.

I avoided penalties mostly, which helped a lot. I only got 2 of them the entire race, one on the 1st lap! I wanted to see how fast I could go towards the end, so I pit with 2 laps left for softs and did a 3:51.0 with a quarter tank.

The fastest car was no doubt the NSX followed fairly closely by the Supra. The others filed in line pretty close to each other. Only problem with the NSX is it would dance everywhere, the Supra was pretty locked down and the GTR and Lexus were on rails, albeit at a reduced pace. Never tried the Z, but I assume it would slot in right above the GTR and Lexus.

Regardless, Good race Seth. I didn't notice any large errors after the begining.

Oh yeah.. Sin, Sorry for the hit at the begining. I thought I was clear on the outside.

I was really surprised that the cars we thought would win did not. That was a very fun race on my end...minus the cramped shoulders/arms after 2 hours. Lol. I'm excited for Spa believe it or not. Just glad it's a month away.

Not me, ZCrazy ran away with the practice round at SPA haha.

Points are updated guys. Seth, you jumped up a position with that win. Z, you still have a decent lead so congrats with that. I, on the otherhand, am falling behind in points with mediocre finishes due to my inconsistencies.

I got me 10-12 laps in at Grand Valley tonight. It was my first time in my NSX at GVS and I ran 1:46's on softs and got 7 good laps out of them. I'm expecting times in the 44's and 43's. Hopefully I can find time to tune my car up this week because it's gonna be a semi-busy school week. Friday night practice will be in store...and I mean hours of it lol.

So, I was thinking about the overall experience everyone is having throughout this series. I understand some have had connection issues and that is something I'd really like to troubleshoot as much as possible because it'd be nice to finish the race with the amount we start with. Earlier I posted asking who has what connection so someone could maybe host the next race in hopes to find a more capable host. BUT with the max amount of people we would have is 10, our chances of running into issues is smaller. So, please post what kind of connection (wired or wireless), NAT 1 or 2, and what your bandwidth is. If there's a more capable host among us, I'd like to find out before Spa lol. In the meantime, I'm going to hopefully get a newer router this week and get my connection wired before Saturday.

Anywho, I do enjoy racing with all y'all. It's just too bad we don't have that full field of 12.

Turn 8 and 15 have a runoff area. Please explain the rules if these can be used or not. Both wheels will be off the track if so. I just need to know so i understand which line to practice 👍

Turn 8: no driving over curb, two tires on black asphalt
Turn 15: you can use the curb at the exit of the turn.

My reason for picking the above is that its the line I've always ran and think there's no advantage to be had exiting 15. As for 8, I feel using the curbing would give a decent advantage.

I did 2 laps the other day at GVS, with mediums I did a 1:47 on a decent lap, but I almost spun at the hairpin. So I think I'm going to be pretty quick here too. I don't really admire this track much though.

As for my connection I have a wired connection, NAT 2 and bandwidth is Very High.

I did a run at GVS an was doing 1.47's. Got 8 laps on soft. towards the 8th lap my times were high 1.48's an low 1.49's. The tire wear on my GT-R is pretty even but fronts do slightly fall off quicker than the rears. I've only been looking into tire durability really. Maybe tonight i'll start looking at single lap pace

I'm really enjoying the series. I know i ain't the quickest, far from it. (usually on the night i'm absolutly stunned at the quickest time in practice an qually) But your all fast which push's me to practice more and better myself

My connection is wired, NAT2 but my broadband width is unknown. But i'm with sky an the broadband i went for is the fastest aloud in a home in the UK

Racing with faster drivers does help. That's how I got faster but I'm still not one of the fastest. My downfall is I'm not consistent. Consistency is key.

I'll be online in a minute for some practice if anyone wants to join.

I'm stuck at school til 8 so that wont work. Friday night is when I plan on practicing.

Robbie, all psn names are in post 1 with the sign up list.

Yeah I had just enough tire to make it to the pit but that hit caused me to spin eat the last of my tires and put me in the sand, by the time I got out and made it to the pit I had no chance to catch up the the leaders again. You should have went for an outside pass there was plenty of room, as I recall being deep on the inside Ill look at the replay later.

No worries tho I made pleny of mistakes after that instead of being only half a lap down after that incident I ended up going a full lap down due to a missed pit and several penalties.

I really dont like this track at night the time progression was set way too low should have had some daylight for the last half of the race.

Also on a side note I almost hit someone early on as well but it turned me into a ghost avoiding contact. I dunno why it didnt work that way for me.

Thanks for the confirmation. That will help with turn 15 as it doesn't feel natural at all. Can't stand that set of turns.

That would be me on the 1st lap of turn 1 or 2. I was thankful there was no contact there

This is my first series I'm participating in. I'm enjoying my self, it's fun and interesting for me. Even though my driving is terible compered to you guys and sometimes I feel like an obstacle on the road but atleast I'm trying to run as clean as I can. I can honestly say that I've met some great people :).

About the connection that DA asks - now my NAT Type is 2 and the bandwidth is very high but I can connect my ps3 directly to internet then it will be Type 1. I'll be glad if that helps.

Keep up the good driving lets keep it fun. :)

I've just managed a 1.44.565 with 3/4 of fuel still in the tank. could possibly go faster if i ran the fuel down but that lap was me giving it everything i an the car have got. A clean lap at at GVS will reward you, a small mistake like even just running off the racing line will cost you dearly

also with that lap time it'll only happen once. It takes alot out the fronts an then the drop off is fast an you'll be out of tires in about 4 laps. Lose around a second each lap like L1. 44's L2. 45/46's L3. 46/47's L4. 48/49's

Just need a good strategy now. Probs work on that tomorrow. My brain isn't awake now for figures lol

Turn 8 is tricky when your hurling into turn 7 in one of these GT500 cars, Braking whilst cornering, need to brake at the right time an get the line right. Alot of time won or lost on turn 8

Yeah 44's should be attainable with low fuel. Consistent laps within a certain time is better though. Good practicing with you. I think I found a good setup, I messed up my lap towards the end of my last lap with you, but I was on pace to do a 1:44.7 on the first lap out. Tuning can find some time here but you may end up screwing yourself in tire wear.

44s on what softs or med?

Maybe we could do some lap times comparison for people who have done timed laps Idea?

I don't like that set of turns either. Still haven't found the best way through there, except for running wide at the exit lol.

That whole section is quite technical. Miss the line for the first turn and it slows ya down for the rest of the turns. Also, turning + braking = tire wear. Asking them to do two things at once really takes it out of 'em. For the NSX it isn't much of an issue because front tires don't wear as fast...rear tires are my issue, but not thus far at GVS. The other day my tires seemed to wear relatively even.

Softs run 44's. Mediums are a few seconds slower. I believe the fast strategy for this race will be softs.

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. Terrible driving? You at least won a race!

If you can, it may help the overall group if your ran the races with a wired connection. I know wireless is sensitive in ways a wired connection would not be. But, again, I'm no expert.

I wanted to set the time to make the race half light, half dark. I was a bad.host last week. Not only did I screw up the time settings, I forgot to put the race finish delay to max to let others finish. I really screwed myself there because it broke what little concentration I had on the last lap because I remembered the delay was only going to be 30 seconds and I made multiple mistakes, giving Z 4th.

Actually all the races except the last one my ps3 was wired directly to the internet and the NAT was Type 1 (Type 1 - ps3 connected directly to internet; Type 2 - connected trough router). But the bandwidth is very high.

Last week my internet provider gave me router to wich my ps3 was wired. I'll never use my ps3 wireless especially for online gaming. On the last race when i used the router I didn't have any issues. As I said I could connect the ps3 directly just for the race.

DA, Good thing Captain couldn't make the series, he's running 42's and low 43's with a GTR. I think the running for pole might see a high 43.xx, but you'll definately need a 44.xx to put your name in that hat. I only ran a few laps on the La Sarthe setup and was low 45's. Not sure about tire wear as I only did 4-5 laps, however I'm not sure I want to push the soft tires much further than that.

I use a wired connection which is recommended 👍 wireless isn't really Secure.... Havn't had any problems in last few races which is good..

Thats what I'm saying - for online gaming wired connection is a must. I tried my ps3 wireless and I didn't like it. 👎

Now it's always wired to the router and the router is wired to the net. When I test the connection the ps3 is showing 26Mb/s download.

That's only 4 seconds faster than my fastest time. I haven't had much practice here so I probably won't fair too well.
