The Ram is (or at least used to be when I last played) an extremely popular choice for 450 PP rooms. I've also seen it hustled quite successfully in 500 PP rooms against the typical M3/NSX/Elise trio as well.

Just out of interest, which cars were made up my PD? With the amount of cars in GT5, I probably failed to notice.

On example, off the top of my head (and the one that I have a picture of). A good rule of thumb is that if it has "(J)" in the name and there are several versions of it, at least one of them is fake.

the thread is asking my personal opinion

i dont care about you not fitting in with my opinion

It's too bad that your "I don't like slow cars" opinion is so at odds with the "if it meant more quality over quantity" corollary in the OP, then.

Seriously? who likes or drives the Midget, Ram, Peugeot CC, Lantis, besides people that own them?

Sorry for the long post.

Fair play, if we were to have the option of a different car entirely in exchange for a similar version of an existing car I am all for it, but not getting rid of cars purely because there are already some like it. A long post it was, but I like it when people put the effort in!

some citroens and peugeots, the triumph, if they could also maybe do only like 5 versions of a car at most rather than 20 different versions like the rx7s, miatas and skylines were. that would be nice to have a little less of the same car.

The NASCAR Cars argument baffles me. Sure they "may" be identical performance wise but the interiors of them aren't always the same amongst each other. And the argument that they're the same cars with liveries is nonsense.

Look at the Super GT/JGTC Cars. Aren't they identical to each other as well? Aren't they the same cars with different liveries?

PD need to remove all of these unnessasary schemes. Makes a Base car and have the liveries, plus the corresponding interior, paint jobs for that car.

I expect GT6 will be the curtain call for the Standard ranks, and I welcome a focus on quality moving forward on the PS4 with PD, because as well all know, they definitely have it in them to create some of the absolute best assets. I'm also not of the opinion that every Standard needs to be converted to Premium; some will be dropped, and I'm fine with it. I was saddened by GT3 dropping things like the first-gen RX-7, SVX, Pulsar, and Cosmo, amongst others, and those are arguably more worthy for inclusion in GT than things like the Honda Element. Unless somebody really wants to make the case that that thing warrants six man-months of work ;)

The irony of you mentioning GT3, is that it's considered the best game but had one of the the lowest car counts of the series.
I do agree on what some people are saying, they need to ditch the standards, because whilst they still provide the variety, they are a contradiction to what 'Realism' is all about.

Why remove anything? More cars = more happiness for weird people like me. I like having variants of the car. And I like slow, boring cars. Even concepts are alright. Identical regional duplicates are meh, but still.

What has the looks of a car got to do with GT being a driving simulator? I dont agree that standards should go. I just think we dont need more than two or three duplicates at most.

in future gt's i would like to see less Honda civic's and skylines im more of a Mitsubishi and muscle car fan but i do like skylines just not the same type of model available in different years

I'll rephrase:

Seriously, if standards were in GT7 will people accept ps2 quality cars on the PS4?

I still disagree. Just because a car doesnt look on par with the standards it dowsn't make it unrealistic and as people who own the game already said the only way they can tell the cars appart in the show room is by the lack of gallery so the standards arent that bad.

Maybe if PD continues to polish the standards up via updates (like they did via updates throughout GT5) I may have a second thought...
