Drop all "Original" tracks, add more Real World ones, drop all the concept cars, drop all duplicates and anything below 100hp.
How about we drop you. Grand valley and trail mountain are some of the best tracks ever.. half of the real world tracks are incredibly boring..
No, see we are already beyond this. Keep one model of each generation and add the other models exterior differences under customization. So we can make the other models.
No thanks id rather have the read deal as opposed to a "clone" car. Just because we can make one car look like another car in that other game dose not mean its the other car.. So no were are not " beyond that" its a cheep way to satisfy people .

A real driving simulator should include cars of all levels. It's more likely that I will be driving a (sadly) Suzuki Cappuccino than a F1 car. I think it is important to have 30 hp cars all the way up to 1000 hp cars. I love the variety. As for getting rid of some cars...how about we do away with the Miatas which constitute about 50% of GT6s 1200 cars.

I do agree to some extent, but cars under 100 hp for me become boring very quickly in a game.

So ill meet ya half way, lets bin all the miatas and nsx variants instead

I don't get your logic. It's blasphemy if we have virtually the same exact car and change the exterior to match the trim level we want? Isn't that what happens in the real world? BTW I don't play the "other" game anymore.

Is that the same sort of "cheep" that results in made-up turbo Lexii or endless variations of MX-5?

Ironic, because you usually aren't getting the real deal in GT either; instead getting one car made to look like another car (except by PD instead of the player) but not actually being the other car because they didn't bother.

Sorry to be picky but this always bothers me for some reason.

None of my proposed cuts have to do with cylinder count, (my little) ponies under the hood, rarity, or country of origin. They have to do with model quality, and considering the next GT will be on PS4, I don't think wanting Standards gone from the picture is unreasonable.

Hey, it's cool SlipZtrEm. I really wasn't referring to you or anyone in particular. I just said it because some people insist that some cars should be taken out of the game because they are slow or old or pretty much pointless. I enjoy all cars and I would be really disappointed if some cars are taken out just because some don't like their performance or looks. Besides, these cars are already modeled. So why take them out?

As for the low quality standards, I, like many have mixed up feelings about them. It's kind of disappointing to see those low quality cars in the game, but at the same time some of them would be missed.

I know for sure that PD wouldn't dare to put PS2 cars in a PS4 game, so let's hope for the best with GT7.

This.

Personally, some visible polygons or pixellated textures aren't a huge deal. It's a funny contrast to the graphics snobbery you usually get with today's high-profile games, but removing "ugly" Standards won't accomplish anything except disappoint fans of the car (even if they're not ecstatic with how it looks at present). With the ones that obviously haven't been touched up, PD obviously didn't waste a lot of time on them, and they obviously don't waste a ton of disc space...clearly there wasn't much to be gained in dropping them.

tank car
nascars
Land Rover Range Stormer

Tank Car? No! why??! That car is one of the best cruisers in the game. The only thing I hate about it is that you can't adjust the transmission.

Nascars... Meh. Not a big fan of Nascar, but they are unique. If only they had proper events for them...

And the Range Stormer is kind of cool. There is very little use for it unfortunately, but it's always nice to have something different to drive.

Hey if your gonna take shots at me why don't you get your facts straight and post a picture of gt4's trail mountain :sly:

Im not talking about duplicates. He's saying that we can make a car look like another trim package with parts, when in fact they may have mechanical differences! Get rid of the blatant copy's such as regional cars and special color variations.

I'm certain this will shock a few members, but it's not like I prefer T10's way of doing it either (even if I do think the FM4 car list was the greatest, overall, of any console racer).

I expect GT6 will be the curtain call for the Standard ranks, and I welcome a focus on quality moving forward on the PS4 with PD, because as well all know, they definitely have it in them to create some of the absolute best assets. I'm also not of the opinion that every Standard needs to be converted to Premium; some will be dropped, and I'm fine with it. I was saddened by GT3 dropping things like the first-gen RX-7, SVX, Pulsar, and Cosmo, amongst others

When I used to switch between GT5 and FM4, I wished we could have FM4 cars with GT5 graphics.

I miss those classic '80s cars. I couldnt see the big deal with just keeping those cars and not culling the others.

I say delete ALL past standard cars and add them as fully rendered later on. Even if we got 160-170 cars(current premium/VGT/DLC) for GT7 if the game is indeed coming end of next year.

Did you read the beginning of this thread where the idea of picking you mechanical differences was also pointed out? And in reality there are more trim options than mechanical options between vehicle makers. And how hard would it be to give you the option to put what badge you want or head light option? Have you seen the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ? What we are talking about is giving everyone the best of both worlds. Having all the differences while not really taking content away. It's a great idea, and I didn't come up with it.

On that front, I agree; cars modeled to current standards (pardon the pun) have had months spent on them. As one-trick-pony as things like the VW WWII vehicles are, they're in now, and taking them out would be silly.

A good chunk of my favourite cars are Standards. But they're simply too outdated for me to want to drive anymore, the immersion is lost on me.

PD already does what you're suggesting they avoid.

Anything with pushrods and leafsprings can go.

Nope.

I think the amount of Japanese cars in the game is fine. I don't think people understand the concept of.. If they model a R34 Skyline V Spec.. and then want to have a R34 Skyline V Spec II Nur.. It would take them 5 seconds to change the color of the hood and move a decimal here and there for the stats. People seem to think removing these "excessive" cars will somehow equal a bunch of other unique cars. Makes no sense to me.

Then they miss obvious models like the '07 STI Type RA-R. Kind of the ultimate out of any factory Impreza I've seen yet. (EDIT: I forgot about the 22B.. where the f is that Premium?) But they put the regular Type RA in? tf? And if not that then why not put in the standard sort of base model that's just an '07 STI. And they miss out on the Nismo R34 Skyline Z-Tune? wtf?

Plain and simple; the amount of "Skylines, Miatas, RX7s" etc is fine. They need to bring out cars from other countries to meet that level though.

Where is the Premium AE86, Supra, E30/E36/E46 M3s, Cobra R, GC8 series Impreza, SW20 MR2, Hakosuka GTR, Ferrari 355 and 360 Challenge, RUF "Yellowbird" (assuming we aren't getting Porsche anytime soon), '70 Boss 302/429 etc etc

I'd like to see them remove the SUVs and Trucks because that's just weird and I doubt anyone uses them other than the one specific career race that makes you. I'd also like to see them remove some of these weird concept cars. Another sort of car I don't see anyone driving. Maybe thin the herd a bit in the micro car (Suzuki Swifts and Daihatsu stuff.. Weird little euro hatches..) department as well.. I guess that counts as the sub 100hp thing.

In the end the issue is its taking them so stupid long to make a Premium car and we can only hope that the design software they have now and making it for PS4 will allow them to do stuff much faster.

I was thinking...
why not divide cars into "main models" and "versions", like on tracks?
I mean, in GT6 there are 30 tracks and 70 variations (more or less), so, why not doing it for cars?
It would be like clicking a car would open a menu similar to the previous one, where there would be all variations of the cars, with different engines, some restylings, etc., reducing so much the number of cars, but without losing them.

What do you think?

I've wanted a game that did that forever.

For me maybe just the duplicates. Year and regional.
Oh
[*]Concept cars, mostly. The upcoming NSX, I can't really fault, because I imagine it will be given to us in stages, much like the FR-S/86 and C7 before it. But the DN-X, or HSC, or the Pikes Peak, Le Mans and Nuvolari from Audi, or the hilariously outdated FX concept from Infiniti? I can almost see the argument for the Hondas as the evolution of the NSX concept, but I wouldn't put them anywhere near the top of the priority list for Premiumization.
[/list]
Maybe keep the DN-X as a pre-nsx concept and HSC as a pre-HSV. Both have a similar chassis and technology, especially DN-X (SH-AWD).

If you don't want "duplicates" go play Forza! For the record they are not duplicates but different model years and trims of the same car, and they fully deserve to be in the game! Having a 100 Miatas and GT-Rs to chose from is one of the things that makes GT GT.

GT6 is not even released, and you are already talking about what you want dropped in GT7? I hope they add more GT-Rs, and whacky cars like the lunar rover and WWII jeeps.

*gasp!*
He used the F-Word!

Are you serious? Besides the heavy loads of duplicates, the car list for GT6 is the most variety wise car list ever in a racing game. I really do not want the future GT games to take our the cars they already made in the game. Don't tell me you guys don't like messing around with cars and finding new overlooked awesome cars, because I sure do. And besides, it gives hundreds of hours of replayability n00bs.

edit: look at forza 5. sure it looks nice and pretty but at what cost? almost half the amount of cars and tracks from forza 4 got removed just for prettier graphics. Isn't the gameplay more important in the end?

Do you really want to see standard cars again in GT7 on the PS4?

Personally, I think they should keep all the cars they have for GT6 on the PS3 & not get rid of any. The reason why is that I'm an avid Shuffle racer, & having so many cars & similar models of cars makes for very exciting online racing. In some races there are say four S2000's, but different models, driven by guys I've raced before. Which one will come out on top? :D Also, so-called duplicate cars do handle slightly differently as well, adding to the fun.

As for Standard cars being in GT7 on the PS4, I hope not. That would be a step too far imho. I'd like to see PD out source them to third party modellers & get them all premium next gen looking.

That would be great. Personally I really like it when they have every trim, year and special editon of the same model. Even if I don't care about the car that much there are people who do. If some one owns a Skyline in real life then chances are the exact same one will be in GT. That is pretty cool in my opinion.

But this would make it much more organized and then people could stop all their bitching about the list being padded. It's a win win.
