Yeah, can you imagine having standard cars on the next-gen console game? But who knows.... The premium cars from GT6 might become 'standard' cars on GT7. :mischievous: :scared:

I think PD stated they have FUTURE PROOFED all the models they are making. meaning the premium cars you now see aren't actually as good as they really are and as the models are used in future editions the true detail will be seen..

I don't believe the visual difference between ps3/360 and xbone/ps4 will be that drastic.
I would hope PS3 premiums are scaled back a bit from what PD actually modeled.

I like all cars, if you drive them for long enough they develop their own character, all premiums should be kept on Gran Turismo forever (I like the standard cars too but GT6 is their last hurrah).

What is a crap car to some is a beloved family member sitting in somebody else's garage.

The ones mentioned above (S2Ks, RX7s, MX5s, Skylines etc.), but also those brand duplicates I mean they should just decide for one. I'm referring to Opel/Vauxhall, Acura/Honda, Scion/Toyota/Lexus here as long as they're pretty much just the same model.
If they gonna have the same car under the 2 different brands like Honda NSX & Acura NSX, then they should count them as one car towards the total car count.

I was thinking...
why not divide cars into "main models" and "versions", like on tracks?
I mean, in GT6 there are 30 tracks and 70 variations (more or less), so, why not doing it for cars?
It would be like clicking a car would open a menu similar to the previous one, where there would be all variations of the cars, with different engines, some restylings, etc., reducing so much the number of cars, but without losing them.

Smartest thing I have ever heard on GTPlanet.

Duplicates only. And that's the only thing I'll agree with. There is no point on taking other cars out of the games just because "someone doesn't like them."

Here we are, wishing for more cars, and yet we are making a wish list to remove cars from GT just because they don't have enough cylinders, enough power, or just because they aren't exotic enough or Japanese enough? Who gets these people?

Again. Duplicates, yes. The rest have no reason to be taken out.

None of my proposed cuts have to do with cylinder count, (my little) ponies under the hood, rarity, or country of origin. They have to do with model quality, and considering the next GT will be on PS4, I don't think wanting Standards gone from the picture is unreasonable.

I'll never understand the "give me less" mentality. You guys are all nuts.

I'll never understand the "quantity at all costs over quality" mentality, either.

I'm all for the right for each and everyone to have and share their own opinions but... what is it with 'get rid of this car' or 'get rid of that car' or drop every car below 100bph? This is not, nor has ever really been, a game about pure racing.

The one thing that pulled me in for GT1 and every game since was the possibility to drive normal road cars around tracks, pushing them to the limit and using as much skill as possible in a non-race tuned car to bring down lap times. The fun is in the driving and most of that fun is in the variety of cars and how they handle/respond on the road.

I could easily do without dozens of 'duplicates' of the same car and a previous suggestion of having one car model with a handful of different engine/trim options to chose afterwards is a stellar idea but please, the greatest asset of the GT series is the wide variety of cars (and other vehicles) that we can get to experience with as true a reflection of their handling as the physics engine will allow.

The more models, types and eras of vehicle - the better. :)

All of the standards from normal gameplay. Leave them in for a 'legacy' mode or some such, complete with low-res tracks and original music. Make it an unlockable easter egg.

One they hit 1300-1400 on gt6, they could cut the dups and useless cars and still be above that 1000 line they keep drawing.

I really like this idea, and I also think the reason a lot of people would be against losing cars is because the game lacks so much in customization. I for one like the different models because not all have the same exterior features. But I do think we need to drop the standards to move forward in progress. GT lacks a good amount of exterior modifications. If we had more than just wings and small lips I think it would soften the blow of losing cars because we would still have variety in the ones we pick. If they had a livery editor and a huge amount of exterior mods I bet majority of people would forget about the other models. Especially if we could virtually make the other models we would be losing. Lets swap high car counts for customization!

Defintely duplicates. If they're mostly the same under the hood but look different, I'm OK with that (Acura and Honda Integras). If they mostly look the same but are different under the hood, I'm OK with that, too (1.6L and 1.8L Miatas). I'm on the fence about some duplicates that offer the player the choice of left or right-hand drive (EU and US S2000s), but there's a lot of fat that could be trimmed.

Then we wouldn't have Kei cars, or other iconic low HP cars like the VW Golf GTI for example.

The golf GTI had 110 ( ish ) ps ..

But yes it may mean I would have to loose a few mediocre cars... so be it If i can drive more thrilling things like ... La ferrari / Mclaren P1 .. Stealth b6

Getting rid of 90% of the standard cars and upgrading a select number of them to premium would be the best idea

Completely remove multiplied versions of basically the same cars and allow complete customization of the cars (including body kits and a livery creator).

I no its not in game but hypothetically, would an Alpine D3 bi turbo or D5. There kinda dups but different too.

A real driving simulator should include cars of all levels. It's more likely that I will be driving a (sadly) Suzuki Cappuccino than a F1 car. I think it is important to have 30 hp cars all the way up to 1000 hp cars. I love the variety. As for getting rid of some cars...how about we do away with the Miatas which constitute about 50% of GT6s 1200 cars.

Keep one of each generation of the duplicated cars (one R32, one R33, one R34, etc etc). And have the fans vote on it. Maybe on Facebook or something, like how they did it at SEMA this year.

Spec V mostly but Spec M and rear wheel drive GTTs are welcome. Nur II too. Its all dependant on the variation but having 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02 is stupid.

No, see we are already beyond this. Keep one model of each generation and add the other models exterior differences under customization. So we can make the other models.
