Sorry Iain I am not able to go back in the lounge. The servers might be very busy today. Let us try again after Christmas.
Merry Christmas every body.

Merry Christmas every body.
For those who celebrate it, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! And Happy Holidays to all.
My new racing companion is a new G27, so hopefully my sticky brake and wheel glitch problems are now behind me. Can't wait to get back on the track!

Good luck learning how to use it, also, it will take some time. But by the time we race again, you should've already learned the basics.
Took it out today and it really is a big leap. Immediately I noticed the improved pedal feel, especially the brake that actually feels like an car brake, unlike the softer DFP brakes. Driving cars without ABS should be much easier now. The progressive steering is also better. I did 3 of the holiday seasonals for practice and came through smiling. The Corvette TT especially was a blast.Congratulation, GT5 with a clutch and gate shifter is like a new (and more interesting) game.
Send an FR to DeadNutsEven on PSN and we'll be glad to have you aboard Muggins. 👍Finally some good racing count me in
JonnyP - congrats on being chosen as the tune of the week in the news section of GTP. Well deserved. Would also like to extend congratulations on the FITT 500PP Tuner Challenge win.
Any idea what the target/track for Jan. 7th is going to be? Just a little over a week away...
When I tested the Lotus and Caterham, I used the standard "two wheels only on the curb" and didn't seem to notice any exaggerated unsettling of either car, using a hybrid of the tune you posted. Not to mention that unless you get your entry just right, you're either on the curb or in the armco upon exit. I have a feeling that it will be a hard regulation to obey in the heat of battle...
Just my $0.02
Thank you very much MCH it was a great event, nice to have two levels of cars to tune, with a very close finish. Hopefully a little more exposure for DeadNutsEven along with it...lol. I highly recommend anyone to either test drive or submit a tune or both in one of the F.I.T.T. tuning contests. Test driving provides a wide variety of cars and tunes to try out and if you choose to tune as well, it really forces you to bear down and figure this tuning mystery out. Once in a while you get lucky as you can see...lol.. Plus it's a good bunch to hang out with on GTPlanet and a very positive environment overall. Lots of guys entering the competition are learning to tune and many enter favourite cars or unusual cars to mix things up a bit. Just like in DeadNutsEven, most of the guys are there for a good time, not just for getting a win at all costs.
Except "2 wheels only on the curb" isn't GTP standard, assuming you mean the other 2 on the track. GTP standard is 2 on the curb and two anywhere else, meaning it's GTP legal to have your two left wheels way up on the curb in that corner and the two right wheels on the tarmac right of the chicane, which does make for an unsettling run through there.
I suggest everyone try it all three ways, 4 on the tarmac, left 2 on tarmac and right 2 on curb, left 2 on curb and right two on curb or on tarmac to the right and see what they think.
I'd like to do test-driving for F.I.T.T. but I'm not that fast. I know when a tune is not right - probably couldn't tell you the X, Y and Z of why it's not perfect, but I can feel when it's not right. I don't know if you guys would want me, but I love driving odd/different cars.
I'd also like to keep learning about tuning - it's coming along slowly, but it's not quite there yet.
There are no minimum requirements for driving ability. In fact, the more variety the better, because the idea is that a really great tune should be drivable and fast for a wide range of drivers, not one end of the spectrum or the other. But fast for you relative to other cars in the contest, not just outright fast. Times don't matter because they are all lumped together for an average lap time so all that really matters is that you give each car a thorough shakedown and let the chips fall where they may.
And I'm not part of the leadership of F.I.T.T., just a sometime participant (when I have time) and an advocate for the whole idea of F.I.T.T. and organized Tuning Shootouts. I learned more from my first contest than all my tuning efforts to date at that point, and found it a great experience all the way back to my first one, the Fall Shootout in 2011. I really enjoy the test driving part, driving all the different cars and especially finding ones that really suit my driving style.
So shall I just post in their thread?
Just keep an eye on the tuning forum and when the next Shootout pops up, make a mention that you'd like to sign up as a tester. You have to send out all kinds of FR's or have them sent to you as the cars are all on share for testing. Just keep in mind the time commitment. 10 laps per car x 1.5 minutes per lap x 20 cars adds up to a bit of time so you have to schedule it in manageable chunks or you are really under the gun as the deadline approaches.
