Sorry, I won't be joining again :(, looks like the Cape Ring Inside sits on a corrupted part of the HDD, at least I got low to 386PP, with just over 250HP and about 1380+kg, still around mid 1:03.xxx with less than smooth run, but top speed after shortened gearing reached up to 196 kmh :/ right before braking into the chicane - on a flat out run during the long sweeping left.

I managed to tune the suspension to enable the car almost flat out on the long sweeping left leading to the chicane ( need only slight left foot braking ), maintaining speeds above 162/165 kmh and exiting at over 180 kmh ( on comfort soft ), is this normal ? I can go lower PP again, less HP, more weight, but then I don't think I can get into 1:03.xxx as the chicane part and those multi left leading to S/F line would be too slow. Now my 1st sector time hover around mid 19 seconds :D Will need more laps to get the best balance of top speed, weight, HP and maybe gearing to prevent the top speed too high ( long 6th gear )

EDIT : Okay, I'm down to 380PP, 240HP, 1380+kg, top speed still at 193 kmh before chicane and 170 kmh main straight, mid to high 19secs 1st sector, low 1:03.xxx , PB at 1.03.052 with gearing set at top speed 239 kmh, tested offline one make race, no shut down even after 10 laps, weird ...

Long sweeping left can be taken flat out now at above 165 kmh at the apex, CS tires.

Anybody going into the lounge ?

As much as PD would like us to believe offline and online physics are now identical, they aren't. I wouldn't rely on an offline time for an online race.

I know that, which is why I will test further online :D, and FYI, I can go flat out on the sweeping as well online :sly:, maybe there will be slight time difference, I will lower HP again or add more ballast if it's still too fast (top speed and lap time )

I don't know what I'll be driving, yet. I got the Sileighty where I wanted it, and it was at 365 PP. Just on a lark, I took out an FC. The turn in is so much crisper, it doesn't have the understeer of the Nissan. And when the back end steps out, it just comes back so much easier. And stock, at 360 PP, I was already in the 1:03s.

Finally finalized my entry today, post #824... 1/26/2013

Pretty certain I shall be driving this:

iainoflo85 // Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C3) '69 // Premium // Tuned // 385PP // SH // ABS // 118MPH

still needs oil change
fixed sports suspension kit
power limited 99.5% to bring stock pp of 405 to 404

Added two new entries to my original post #824, both FF platforms. It's amazing how much more PP the FF's require now to be competitive after the 2.10 update... I guess now it's probably closer to how the cars would actually compare in the real world. :boggled:

Ahh this is what I like to see, two sacrificial lambs brave souls willing to try FF's on a twisty course.:)

I'm still waiting for someone to send me Iain's results from Monday.:grumpy::ouch:

January 28th, 2013

NCemtB / Lotus Elise '96 / Premium / 405 PP / Tuned / ABS - 1 / CS Tires / 116 MPH

NCemtB / Subaru BRZ S '12 / Premium / 386 PP / Tuned / ABS - 1 / CS Tires / 116 MPH

I don't see FF's here. These are MR and FR cars.

Maybe you scrapped the FF idea already. If so oops!

I may have had a change of heart about the two FF's... I might still run one just to see where I stand, I have them both dialed in pretty well as far as handling goes, and they are rockets down the straights.

So they were ok on the big sweeper? My problem with FF's is, since I rarely drive them, when I'm under pressure, letting it all hang out, I naturally revert to my FR/MR/4WD car driving habits in terms of trying to fling the cars about and getting on the throttle a bit earlier on exit, letting it drift in a little on entry, which of course, is the opposite of what you want to do with an FF most of the time. :dopey:

I was able to carry just as much speed through the sweepers in the FF's as I was the BRZ and Lotus.

I was faster with ff than anything else only because I could brake hard and not get sideways. I was having real trouble with the braking points, getting sideways. So i picked an ff car that did a 1.05.xxx stock, and lightly tuned to do 1.03.xxx.

Somebody said last week that I was going off track to much and I agree. So this week if I go off Im going to give up a position no matter how far back the next driver is.

That's nice of you Flex but you don't have to do that. Just keep an eye on your track map (should be on 2) if you go off track and if anyone is around you just don't interfere with them. Try to anticpate where you'll come back on, your speed, and any control issues you might have with grass on the tires. Depending on how bad the off track incident is, sometimes the fastest way to regain control is to hit the start button, and it also prevents you from entering the track if a car is approaching.

The statement slower is faster couldn't be more true. Anytime I raced in straight up races and had to continue finding speed to keep with the fast guys I was concerned that I would be pushing even harder than I was and I would be wrecking like crazy. What I eventually learned was to back off a bit and focus on exit speed. When I did find the speed I actually found I was more comfortable and less on the edge.

Forgot, entry for Cape Ring.

TrackBound7 / Silvia R15 / Premium / 383pp / Tuned / ABS1 / CS / 115mph

I think I have the car title half correct. Top speed is around there before the chicane. Hard to tell because I am trying to focus on my marks.

Track, the Silvia are the S-series, so S15. The GT-Rs are the R-series, so R35. Nissan also has the Z-series.

Johnny, you were asking for the results from Monday. I went a little overboard. The submission sheet is open to edit, so I just copied on a sheet with formulae and punched in the finishes and times.

I don't know how you guys do points around here, or if you even care. The formula default to giving 1st place 16 points and last place 1 point. Results for the evening as a whole: NCemtB won.

Interesting notes:
  • In five races, there were five different winners.
  • Seven points separate the entire field.
  • Everyone made it to the podium twice, except Ferraridude, who only made it once, and NCemt, who made it three times.
  • In race three, Cote and I had the exact same best lap time. That is not a typo.

Wow, we need to keep you around... Nice work. 👍

Thank you.

I just noticed that you and Ferraridude are two of the three that didn't get a first place finish.

I really half-arsed last week, I only fielded a car 30 minutes before the races. I'll be back in form this week, after all, I'm in an NSX. :sly: I haven't looked at your fancy spreadsheet edit yet, I'm on my phone. :guilty: Gonna check it out later tonight. :)

Thanks for inputting that info Vol. Those results are pretty much the week in/week out DeadNutsEven Racing results. Different winners every race, usually everyone makes the podium and any points system used will produce very close results. I've only done points in the background that no one knows about :scared: but we've never kept an open points system because the consensus was we wanted to keep it light and fun and didn't want guys taking chances they might not otherwise take if there were no points up for grabs.

Vol, thank you very much for your efforts, dedication and interest in the DNE, although you have not been there long, it is fun to see you care for the group.
The reward in this league is not winning, the reward is having fun by beeing able to participate in a close and interesting racing with other online enthousiast.
If we have to keep tab of something, I would prefer keeping tab on who was the most fun participant to race with, who gave the best challenge, did the best passes.
We are putting a lot of time & effort trying to be dead nuts even, if we want to we know who is the fastest or can win more races, then we are doing it wrong.
We need to be very carefull on what we reward as what is rewarded will influence how we behave.

I am planning on beeing in the lounge at 11h30 for some pre events racing, anybody else available and interested?

Thanks Volz...I knew I had the name screwed up somewhere. I posted about 30 minutes after driving and just couldn't keep all the letters and spec names right.

Should be around... Would be great if a few people showed up so that I can see how my car handles the traffic.

The only place that I think im going to have a problem is the last few corners before the start/finish line. A little bit of under steer sometimes makes me go off right at the end of the corner, But I should be able to come back on safely on the straight.

I was also playing around with adding weight to reduce pp, but i found that braking zones got longer. so I just stayed with the restricted power set up.

24 Hours Of Daytona today!!!!!!!!!!! :dopey:
