Ferrari, is it just my replay or were you really locking up almost every corner? Your onboards were really hairy.
As well, I have to apologize to you for blocking/squeezing you in race 3. Completely unintentional, but you lost momentum and was passed by 2 cars on the subsequent straight. Hate when that happens to me, I'm very sorry I did it to you. :yuck:

It was a result of my driving style and car choice. I had to maintain so much momentum through certain corners that I almost never let off the gas all the way, so I burned a lot of rubber, probably annoyed quite a lot of you with a constant barrage of smoke. The other part of that was trying to drive the Evo like an NSX, so I had a couple of drifts around the last corner. I didn't know I was driving such a "handling" car, so I had to drive that thing like a madman in order to keep on your bumper so I could catch dome draft. Don't worry about blocking me, if I wasn't in the Evo it wouldn't have affected me. I never knew how much disparity was in the WRC's until tonight.

I'll try to find another PS3, maybe I'll bite the bullet and try to downgrade my OS, but then I won't be able to get online .... another note, it all started when I got corrupted F1 2012 demo download, deleted it then redownload the demo, I also did an update to the OS soon after, the shutdown 1st occurred when F1 2012 demo showing the developer splash screen, then it spread to other games both on HDD and disc.

If I were you, I'd just take that thing out into a field and go all "Office Space" on it... Start fresh and see where that gets you, sounds like you've done about everything possible.

And if for some reason you're not old enough to know what Office Space is, I've provided a visual reference... lol

A true classic!! Some of the stuff we had to deal with back in the day when it came to computers made everyone feel that way. $500 for InkJet Printers that produced terrible quality and couldn't be fixed, PC's that froze up all the time...drove you crazy.

Looks like it's time for a new unit and starting over from scratch. I have long suspected that some of the issues people have online are due to their PS3's and not their connections. You have to do something so you can get into an actual race!!!

VBR
There is a known bug in GT5 that causes you to get disconnected from online rooms, it's do to with having background music on. If applicable, turn all music off in GT5 & see if that helps.
👍

Just ran across this. I have never used background music. If some of you that are having connection issues like Rido or Iain, you might want to turn off background music and give it a spin.

This is a formula that will definitely resurface. The racing was as close as it's ever been and the added grip and stability of the Rally Cars made it much easier to race bumper to bumper as the photos below will show!!!

Happens muuch less often now than in the Win 95 and early 98 days. :P

To an extent. I've been working at this print shop for 6 months and one of my co-workers is already on her third PC just since I've been here. Makes me love my Macs!! :)

(Anyway, I was just being sarcastic. :dunce: )

I can already tell that this coming Monday is gonna leave much to be desired... TM-R sucks. :ill: Have a feeling it'll be more like a hot lapping session than an actual race, good thing I have to work this Monday.

We're going to do a race in the near future that will include 2 cars in the OCD, the BMW 320i Touring Car and the Altezza Touring Car. You guys might want to snap them up just in case:tup:👍

Is there a premium model that fits this particular event?

This reminds me, how about we have everyone post a list of their 3 favourite racing tracks. Not your favourite hotlapping or tuning tracks but the tracks you want to race on the most, and in our DeadNuts format.

Leave the full versions of the Nurb, Lemans and Spa off the main list as they will probably only make it into special events due to their length and put them at the bottom with a yes or no (yes if you'd like to race a special event there, no if you wouldn't) beside them.

What the heck, while we're at it, might as well add your three least favourite tracks too like this

Faves
Nurb GP/D
Deep Forest Reverse
Tsukuba

Least Faves
Cape Ring Full
London
Special Stage Route 5

Nurb - yes
Lemans - yes
Spa - yes

It will take some testing, but it's possible the RM's could work as well. If we can nail down a track, I'll take a couple of cars out, set a lap time and then you can test some premiums to see how they fit. With the adjustable downforce of race cars, so long as the lap time is set with close to stock downforce, one should be able to make even the crap cars handle well, and the better cars like GT300's might only need minimal downforce. My concern would be that they would be too fast in the corners and not fast enough in the straights, creating the old imbalance in speeds we had before.

I enjoyed rally cars and I'm probably free this weekend for once. So put me as 50% chance of making it.

1. FF's only, probably at Laguna as someone has mentioned already.

I'm only interested in FF's if everyone is in an FF. So I am interested in this, actually quite interested.

2. Racecars only along the lines of the Altezza Touring Car, IS200 GT1 Race Car, S2000 LM Racecar, Spoon S2000 Racecar etc...all hovering around the 500PP mark, probably detuned to 475 or so.

The "DTM" cars we did with my group last month worked really well, so I like this idea. There are also enough AWD race cars in the ~525pp range that you could use those as well (limit to only AWD of course).

3. An all 4wd event, probably at Eiger.

Love it, as long as it's the tarmac version only.

4. Jags vs. Astons, probably somewhere we can stretch our legs like Daytona Road Course or Monza around 450 PP

I quite like this idea too, as long as there are enough Jags/Astons to choose from. Like another remark, I think Alfa and Maserati should be allowed too as they each have a car that would fit the bill perfectly.

5. One make races with some of the iconic cars in the game like the Alfa Zagato, 71' Mustang, 69' Camaro etc.

Meh, a one-make race kinda defeats the purpose of DeadNuts (any and all cars racing together competitively).

6. A special one make race, perhaps separate from our usual schedule, only for Yellowbirds and/or BTR's?

I'm interested in running the RUF's, but my comment for #5 applies here too.

A couple other ideas:

SuperGT cars. Find a target time that both the GT500's and GT300's can hit, maybe one on harder tires and one on softer tires to help balance.

NASCAR.................yeah, I said it. They are quite fun to race on road courses and should all be fairly balanced.

Vintage (non-muscle) Cars. I can think of a lot of cars that would fit this bill.

Movie Themes: (Bullit - 68 Shelby Mustang vs. 68 Dodge Charger) (Ronin - Audi vs. Peugot or BMW vs. Mercedes on city circuit)

Faves
Grand Valley East
Indy Road Course
Nurb GP/D or GP/F

Least Faves
Deep Forest (any version)
Cape Ring (any version)
Fuji (any version)

Nurb - yes
Lemans - yes
Spa - yes

+1 on Nascar and Super GT's. I love detuned Nascars on a proper road course.

And I really need a proper place to race the Alfa 8C.

My thoughts exactly, it's a beautiful car and pretty fun to drive. Brits vs. Italians FTW.

H8r. It's not a fun lapping track, but IMO it's great for racing. Has a ton of run-off area, good mix of corners, 2-3 straights to get a run on somebody and go side-by-side.

My opinion is the exact opposite, it's fun to hot-lap by yourself but almost every corner induces so much understeer that I cringe whenever I'm two-wide or even near another driver. Turn 2 is especially terrible in almost every car I've ever driven there. :yuck:

Was in the lounge practicing with NC, but got disconnected 3 times, I give up.
Good session, getting ready, tough track, very technical.

Guess we should have gone with something a little easier after Autumn Ring. :scared:

You need to tell your company to start putting you up in places with better Internet connections... Priorities!

It's a very technical track, lots of elevation changes, subtle dips and off camber bits... Fun to lap once you find a rhythm, but I have a feeling it's gonna catch a few people out and cause lots of headaches in a race.

Oh, and finding suitable references for braking points was a pain... lol
