You need to tell your company to start putting you up in places with better Internet connections... Priorities!

I agree, but I am not on the road, all this happened on my big rig, I hope it is not the beginning of the end, usually I have zero issue.:ill:

It's a very technical track, lots of elevation changes, subtle dips and off camber bits... Fun to lap once you find a rhythm, but I have a feeling it's gonna catch a few people out and cause lots of headaches in a race.

Oh, and finding suitable references for braking points was a pain... lol

There's your problem, you're using your brakes!!! I did try out a bone stock Premium Silvia and it was absolutely perfect here. I think the softer stock setups of a lot of cars will do well here on these tires.

I've seen a few people the last couple of days reporting disconnect issues...I think it's a server issue.

The RX-7 I'm using handles great on stock suspension, and it has a surprisingly good torque curve... Sans start, I can get around the entire track in 3rd and 4th gear with no problems bogging down using the stock trans.

Orido's corrupt PS3 is infecting the rest of us...

I did some informal testing at Grand Valley for the race car event. All cars were completely stock except for engine limiter and where mentioned. All tested around the 470- 475 PP mark on SM tires. 1 warm up and 2 timed laps, averaging around the 2:06 mark, top speeds 221-227 km/h (NSX 230 km/h) and it looks like the following cars will all fit well into this group:.

Definites
BMW330i TC - Lots of grip, neutral to slight understeer
Silvia RM - Slightly off the pace, Neutral, may need added downforce for grip, premium
Amuse 2000R1 - Not a racecar but fits in perfectly, tons of grip, with a little oversteer
Spoon S2000 Racecar - Beautiful handling car perfect as is
Spoon S2000 LM Racecar - Perfect as is
NSX RM - Oversteery, will need some added grip for cornering, premium
Altezza TC - Well balanced, lots of grip, not much "feel" to it though, very fast
Clio Renault Sport Trophy Race Car - With Max downforce it fits right in, great sound
Alfa Romeo Zagato - Upgraded to 188hp with max downforce it was about a second slow. With tuning or softer tires should fit in. Premium

Questionable
Lexus IS200 GT1 Race Car - Terrible understeer, low grip, 2.5 seconds off the pace
GT300 cars - Only tested the Wedsport Celica and even down 20-30 Hp it was a second too fast and about 5-7km/h off the pace..probably won't make the cut.

Didn't test the Integra RM or TC as I figured no one would be using an FF here. Left out the Elise RM as I figured it would be too fast in the corners and too slow in the straights.

Would anyone be interested in a Euro friendly (Saturday morning/afternoon) event this week using the rally cars at Autumn Ring Reverse?

I can host anytime in the morning or early afternoon EST (UTC-5). If you can attend, post your interest here... I will host if there are enough takers.

I'm in. I didn't get to fully enjoy the Rally Cars, I'd like another crack at them.

I'll be home this weekend, but on call. If I'm not out working I'll race. Is this a definite go then? Let me know and I'll add it over in the spot race forum and in the second post.

Yes, it's definite. I'm gonna start racing at 10:00am EST.

I am in for another race if I'm not lagging, put me in, but I'll leave if I am causing lag :).

Got the car for Trial Mountain Reverse, the sick looking Dodge Viper GTS '02, 445PP, getting high 1:23s last sector and 118 mph top speed on CS, no ABS, best time at 1:44.8xx, will lower a PP or two, further testing and some other cars to drive, good fun ...

1:44.95x at 444PP, 23.8s 1st sector, mid 52s 2nd sector, high 1:23s last sector, after running for 5 laps total of tuning+testing.

Time for Ferrari 599 at 446PP - 50% power, 200kg ballast, amazing the tune from Autumn Ring Reverse works straight out with only changing the stock transmission with close 6 speed :) 1:45.0xx on CS.

Next : Acura NSX :embarrassed: 425PP, 249HP, 1440kg, low 1:45 on CS, top speed is a bit too close to limit 119/120 mph. 1st sector at flat 24s or high 23s, last sector at 1:24 low or high 1:23.

Next : Honda Civic Type R ( EK ) '97  can get low 1:45 on CS but top speed is over the limit, good with SH, somewhere between 430-440PP.

Next : Art Morrison Vette '60 ... 440+PP good mid corner grip, a bit understeer and snap oversteer, but fun, using CS tire gets to top speed limit dead on 121mph.

Next : Scion FR-S, 428PP, great balance, acceleration and top speed at 115/6mph, CS tire, very easy to push hard - got into mid 1:44s  ... lower PP ... 425PP, even faster 1:44.4xx going down 420PP. Amazing car, perfect for learning no ABS.

Over 4 hours in the room now, no shutdown, a nice fluke ... can't even load the track online the other day without shutdown, now smooth sailing

my entry :

Ridox2JZGTE/Dodge Viper GTS '02/Premium/437PP/Tuned/CS/NO ABS/117mph

The Viper reminds me of old days playing GT1 on PSX, awesome memories, the track is like the back of my hand

8512490376_ab17eb51b4_c_d.jpg

Back in da lounge now :) after a few more laps with the bling Viper, got into low 1:44s at 443PP, lowering to 440PP ... 1:44.6xx, lowering PP again to 437PP ... more laps ... seems good. Session over.

Everything should be up to date in the Spot Race Forum and the OP for the Saturday event...hope I can make it. Going to get a different car though...the Mitsu, as beautiful as it was:crazy:, just wasn't consistent enough.

An idea I'd like to test out is something that's come up in the past, which is using a group of previously qualified cars on a different track. One way to test that out would be with these Rally Cars, especially since they seemed to be so evenly matched. We might do it after a race night but that would make a long night. Maybe we could pick another night and set aside an hour or so and bring our Rally Cars and try out some other tracks. Maybe one longer and one shorter type of thing to see how close the cars are even when the track has a much longer straight than at Autumn Ring.

Another thing we could do is pick a standard track with tire options and a target time, speed limit etc. and have that as our place to choose and tune "Spec" cars. One way to have spec races then for example would be post in this room, or maybe on a separate thread to keep it more streamlined and say,

"Spot Races Thursday Night at 8PM, DeadNuts Lounge with your Spec Cars from Track X, Target Time Y, Tires etc."

You can qualify one car or multiple cars and over time it could develop into a regular thing at a given Spec level. First race of the night could be at the Spec Track, to sort out your laptimes before heading to other tracks.

Over time you could build up a group of several of your favourite cars tuned to the Spec time and go Spot racing at any time, anywhere!!!

Sounds awesome! everything sounds awesome. :) Anything that come out from this concept is aaawesome!

I was out having a drive last night and made the Tsukuba circuit in an empty snowy parking lot. not to scale but the basic track lay out.

Was that on Comfort Softs or Sports Hards?:sly: Now that's what I call a true GT5 Fan!!👍👍

In da lounge again, Yellow Bird time ;)

Love this car, exciting ride all the way, 240HP 50% power, 116kg ballast, stock weight distribution 40/60, CS tire, no ABS, tuned suspension + LSD + transmission, top speed barely touch 121mph ( tunnel ) - main straight could reach the same if the winding last few corners can be taken smoothly, 1:45.1xx with a clean nice run.

Stingray Proto, 440+PP, CS, max ballast, easy to drive consistent.

Ferrari California, 435PP, CS, almost max ballast, stock weight distribution, stock transmission, very stable and mild understeer, but excel in the last half of the track, very fast on corners but top speed is a bit low, 113mph on the tunnel, 115/7mph at the end of main straight ...246HP/1814kg.

Next :Ferrari F40 '92, 50% power, max ballast, stock transmission + weight distribution, 244HP/1552kg at 434PP, good for consistent 1:45s, 117mph top speed at the tunnel, 119mph at the main straight, only uses 3 gears, mostly 2nd gear when cornering. Nice balance, will need very clean driving.

After tuning + testing so many cars, the general guide lines for sector times to get consistent 1:45s on CS tire for almost all cars are : 1st sector at high 23s or low 24s, 2nd sector at low 53s or high 52s, and last sector at high 1:23s or low 1:24s.

Power usually hovers from 210+HP to 250+HP, with weight from sub 1000kg to 1800+kg, PP from 420 to 445+, tested MR, RR, FR, FF.

Notes :

The main concern for lower PP cars are lower top speed at the tunnel and slower acceleration going up hill after the 1st esses. These will be great places to overtake, the big right sweeper before tunnel also a good spot to attack the car in front. At near the end of the long 1st tunnel, there's a slight rise, this is the ideal braking point, hug the apex at least 70mph entering 2nd tunnel, throttle play is crucial, too much will cause traction loss. I usually take it so close to the right wall tunnel entrance for better car positioning for the series of blind corners ahead.

The left blind corners after 2nd tunnel can be taken at close to 70mph on CS for almost all cars I have driven, the short straight afterwards should be able to hit very close to 90mph before tapping the brake for the next blind left taken at least 50mph before the 3rd tunnel hovering at 65 - 70 mph. The blind corners best taken with slow in fast out, meaning brake a bit earlier and from outside will yield better mid corner speed and exits.

OMG, I tested my 420PP Scion FR-S again, CS tire, got into 1:44.4xx on 2nd lap , lower it to 415PP, and instead I ran almost perfect lap :embarrassed: and 1:43.698 WTF .... the top speed barely touch 114mph at the tunnel, and 116mph at main straight ... will test some more laps.

FR-S is now at 410PP, too slow on the tunnel 113mph, but still good for 1:45s, will do more laps next time, leaving lounge.

Top Speed shown next to the top graph : 150 mph / 241 kmh

Notes :

This car is godly fast around corners, stable, forgiving and very fun to drive.

Shift point is at 7000rpm, my PB with this tune is at 1:44.759, no cutting on 1st esses, a bit of jump though on the left side, this seems to allow higher speed ( above 100mph ). The car needs to be driven hard and smoothly on last half of the track to get consistent 1:45.0xx. A perfect run would yield high 1:23s last sector.

The suspension tune is based on real life aftermarket tuner settings + wheel alignment. The car has excellent balance, when it slides on braking entry ( no ABS ), it will glide smoothly even with full throttle - best felt at the up hill right hander after the 1st esses. This tune also works perfectly well for GT86 and BRZ :)

In da lounge now, cruising along ... session over :)

Back again in da lounge, after tried the Alfa when Ferrari was in the lounge last time, I am really enjoying the car more and more, conservative braking than other drive train layout, precise mid corner throttle control, smooth steering through the apexes ... after some laps, I stuck with the tune from Autumn Ring Reverse, added more power to get better top speed - all else exactly the same, now at 118/9 mph, low 24s 1st sector, mid 52s 2nd sector and low 1:24s last sector, good for 1:45.1xx consistently on CS tire.

The car now has 429PP, with 425PP like it was when Ferrari was spectating, it only managed 1:45.5xx. This car has a lot potential, if the FF theme race is a go soon, this could be a real contender :)

Encountered weird things, using ballast at position 50 ( rear most ) giving more rear bias, PP went down from 430 to 429, move it back to the front to get stock distribution 64/36, PP rises to 430 :odd:

Even more surprising, with stock weight distribution, really front heavy, the Alfa still handles just as good with more rear bias weight, able to post low 1:45s easily, it gain a bit more traction when braking and exiting corners, mid corner did have slightly more understeer which requires even more precise throttle. Anyway, the last half of the Trial Mountain Reverse is the real challenge for this car, a slight mishaps will cost the driver dearly.

Lounge session over ..

EDIT :

Read this on another thread :

The stars don't indicate lag, that's the bars. The more stars there are, the more frequently the room updates where everyone is (it ties directly into the race quality option when starting a room). Higher values are often the cause of lag, not the solution, lower values mean that people with a bad connection to the host will appear to update their position almost as often as everybody else.

Lowering room/lounge quality option to standard or lower might help with the lag or disconnections in the room.

You are a tuning maniac:sly:

Lounge and chat quality have been set to standard since the beginning. We also tried disabling mics for a while and that didn't help either.

I have downloaded a track called Eifel Basic 7 to the DeadNuts profile (on top of the one that is already there). If anyone is in there testing and wants to try something different give it a couple of laps and see what you think. Perfect for anything from 400PP CS and up.

I am in da lounge now, running stock Alfa 8C with limiter on CS, nice car :) Running 435PP. got into 1:44.969 with 117 mph top speed, a bit wild on exits, but I like it.

I just checked my own lounge settings, I used low room quality, recommended setting is standard, bandwidth is standard, NAT 2 and no mics.

Next : Lamborghini Countach 25th '88, running with lots of limiter + ballast, 255HP, 1593kg, 437PP, just like the Viper GTS, immense grip in cornering, great speed tops at 119mph, low 1:24s last sector consistently. I might prefer this one than the Viper :) Using tunes from my 1st race/win at Deadnutseven - Monza track.

Another lap ... got into 1:44.7xx, high 1:23s last sector, 119mph top speed, lowering PP by adding more ballast. 436PP ... dang, even faster 1:44.5xx .. more ballast.

I'm going to be back in the lounge in roughly 10 minutes. I'm probably going to use the Maserati Gran Turismo S, with some tuning on it.

I'll look forward to see you again :), now I am also tuning the Gran Turismo S, 444PP for now - CS tire, 302 HP, 1780kg
No power upgrade, stock transmission, no ballast, power limiter + LSD + suspension + all drivetrain upgrades.
Using suspension tune from FR-S, only backwards as the weight distribution is the opposite.
RH : 30 30
Spring : 9.2 7.8
Ext : 4 6
Comp : 2 3
ARB : 4 3

Camber : 1.5 1.2
Toe : 0.05 0.15

LSD 5/14./18

Handling is a lot more neutral, less push, very much a like lightweight FR ... getting 1:44.600, 120 mph top speed, too fast ... lowering PP.

Now sitting at 435 PP, 282 HP, 1780kg, one sloppy entry on the last blind corner before the last tunnel, 1:45.190 .. seems okay, recommended BB 5/3. Another clean lap 1:45.061, 118mph top speed.

After a few more laps, 1:44.022, so I lower the PP to 426PP, 1:44.799 PB, another PP would do the car into 1:45.0xx

Will probably post the tune for this car soon, I got Dc'd :/ my hands hurt driving for 4+ hours, taking a break :)

For more coolness, install a rear wing ( the small sexy one ), set aero at 7 for added stability.
