Very good pictures, thank you Ferrari, particularely the car #21.
Last night was different, not one of my favorite, but as usual it was great to be able to race with every one and share our enthousiasm for online sim racing with GT5.
Next Monday should be more like what we prefer.

Soon...and I have a little surprise I've been working on...hopefully I can get it to work...:nervous::nervous:

Some pictures that I took for the Monza races, all in small sizes for low bandwidth friendly viewing, go to the flickr page for larger size :

Nice set of pictures there. I'm glad you took some group shots. They show the competition very nicely. 👍

I've been working on this for hours!! Good thing I'm off today. Quality is not the best, taken from my phone but it's not bad, especially in smaller versions. It's a rough first effort and I can certainly do a lot better. I'll leave it up till I come up with something more polished.

Hope you guys like it, I'll put it in the OP and/or third post a bit later.

Great promo vid JP, especially for being done on your phone! I think it gets the message across rather well.

I have a target time for Suzuka East. We had played around with a couple ideas...I would suggest the same target time and tire combo for 2 straight weeks (with the holidays and all coming up). The twist would be one week would be dedicated to Japanese cars only, and the other completely open (including Japanese for those that just don't have the time to tune a 2nd car). Was looking at a 1:01.000 on CS (did that in a 430pp Toyota GT12).

I just came on here to post saying I was going to be in the lounge coming up with target times for Suzuka. Let me run a few cars and see what I can come up with but it looks good on paper, virtual paper. Once it's solidified, I'll make up an "official" post for it...

Don't want any DeadNuts to miss this so I'll repost it a couple of times...

Good vid JP. Obviously (and understandably) not all it can be technically, but (as NC has said) the message is very clear and concise. The video clearly shows what we are all about with parity racing.
I have a great tune for the Zonda Sag, you can have it if you want. It's an absolute beast at 550PP.
Thanks, but I'll pass. The Zonda has already been reverted back to stock form.

Suzuka East, 1:01 on Comfort Softs
suzukaeast101cs2png.png
Target was set at 410pp in a fully tuned 2007 Mazda RX-8Type S

This is the target for the next two weeks. Track suggest we use JDM cars one week and leave it wide open for the other to keep it simple leading up to the Christmas break so here are the specs for each date:

Monday December 3, 2012 - JDM only

Monday December 10, 2012 - All cars

Heat 1: 5 laps, fastest first
Heat 2: 5 laps, reverse grid
Race 1, 2 and 3: 12 laps, reverse grid

December 17th will be our last official race date before the Christmas break and we're thinking to resume Monday January 7th. In the next couple of days we'll put up the targets for the final event of the year, Christmas at the Ring. At this point it's looking like the target will be 10:00 even on the Type V course on Sports Hards.

Okay, two entries here...

Well, I ended up finding an NSX that could get around corners without drama, although I did have to defile its beauty with a massive wing. :banghead:
I adapted this tune from Greycap and it's located right here:

Ferraridude308 / Honda NSX Type R '02 / Premium / 431PP / Full Tune / No ABS

This other car has a lower PP and is crazy quick through corners, but it just isn't fun at all. Not to mention it is terribly slow on straights. Its my backup vehicle in case the NSX for some reason doesn't perform.

How many laps will it be on Suzuka East ? I am tuning a hybrid now, getting 1:02.xxx at 419pp, I am worried about the battery drain on longer races :)

The number of laps are on the first page of the thread. The longer race is going to be 12 laps.

Ok, thanks, I'm stuck at 1:02.05xx with the car now and the car has reached it's max power in it's current tune, will be testing for longer laps, but it is likely I will try another car ...but this car is very rarely used in organized races. I'm very much wanted to have a go with it and see how much it can put up a fight with more performance oriented cars.

Make sure you run a full 12 laps Orido because the hybrids usually can't make it the full distance...and they are much slower without the battery... I updated the post above with the lap information.

Just a reminder of the format we prefer every one to use.

Well I think I fixed my brake problem. At Cote's suggestion I took my DFGT apart to clean it...and it needed it, but that wasn't the problem. There was a bit of wear and tear on the seat that the base of the brake pedal pivots in and it allowed the pedal to move in such a way that it was barely triggering the brake at rest sometimes. Fixed it all with a razor knife...hopefully it last a while, but I'll be keeping an eye on the sales after Christmas..:sly:

I was having a similar problem, my brake would just jam on all of a sudden at random. I did the same thing, took it apart. Turns out the brake wire was fusing with the gas wire at the back of the enclosure. After using my pedals up against a wall, the constant gas/brake pressure wore down the insulation and any time I pressed the gas the current jumped into the brake wire and the brake came on. I almost broke down and bought a G27, but all I had to do was cut and reform some of the wire.

Question: was it an absolute pain to put everything back together? As soon as I took off the underplate, everything just fell apart and it took me longer to put it back together than it did to fix it.

Oops, my bad, I totally forgotten the JDM rules , will update with another car, I was so happy driving the car around ... again I am sorry for the mishap. Maybe I'll use it for the next one.

I had the same idea, to use it for the second week. But you beat me to it. LOL.
