December/1.27 Update Discussion

People are so mad at my comment about not being excited about these cars. The question is, why should I?

The game is plagued by modern cars, including Gr. 4-3 and Visions. Only old one we got this update was the Celica. and it's a dang rally car

I'm not saying we should only get old cars but I'm simply not warming up to modern cars.

And, as @Nielsen said, car additions are merely expanding the game with more variety. When it comes to vehicles, anyway. We will have to wait until the actual update, but I find it highly unlikely they'll release another track in the update. Every time we got one, there was a long gap until the next one emerged.

I know it's Christmas time, but I just don't see it happening. If we suddenly do get another track that's actually a cool one and not some generic rallycross track, I'll change my mind. But that opinion would only go towards the update as a whole, but not the car additions.

I just find it funny when people are so offended when I say I'm simply not interested in more modern cars. What, if we get a new electric car and I say boo, will people be offended by that?

See you next week! :gtpflag:
I agree with you on the notion of car editions being a sort of empty update. I love new cars regardless of category, era, etc. but I find myself getting excited for new cars to run the same races. In reality I have nearly every car in the game, half of which the only reason I have is bc of boredom. Morsel feeding cars is fine but it feels Orwellian that I get excited for 3-4 cars/month when in reality I’m overall very bored with this game as it has grown stale. I’ve loved this game since I started playing on PS1 and will likely continue to play but if there aren’t relatively significant improvements on how/where to drive all these great cars this game will turn into a novelty game for me.

I don’t want to come off as negative and certainly don’t want to be “that guy” who rains on parades. I’m just saying although I’m happy for the potential of what appears to be one of the better car updates, they will likely be sitting in my garage 3 days later until next month if I’m running the same races just new cars. Hope the Nurb hype is real bc that would be a significant step in the right direction. Would certainly like to see more tracks but even more races/championship series on existing tracks would be huge. Would like to progress toward something other than getting 1 engine/specialty ticket /month to put in a car to run.. the same races.

Again, I get excited about these like everyone else but don’t want to be a glutton for what has historically been short-lived satisfaction/enjoyment with inevitable disappointment.

I sincerely hope I’m wrong on this one, keep up the positive vibes, & if sprint/endurance races are coming to the Nurb then I digress!

I’d gather a Wingless option for those wanting a QV. :sly:

Looking forward to slamming that Celica.

Edit: I guess we know what will be happening in the Livery Editor thread.

Ahw again no i-Miev :guilty: Or Autozam az-1 or some other kei car or van/mpv like the Honda Stepvan or Suzuki wagon R/R+…

Yes i’m into weird cars
Nothing wrong with weird cars or "Slow Cars".
We had our second race the other day and it was some of the closest racing I have ever had on GT, with just 70bhp.

I know its nice to have the latest Bugatti or Lamborgini, but for me, there is more to racing than just high-powered cars, give us some more classics such as 60's/70's British sports cars like the Austin Healey or MGB GT. I know it's mostly due to licencing but why we can't have more real tracks is beyond me, go for the tracks the other games don't.

Here is a list of racing that's not GR-4/Gr1, I could keep going.

I do wish they'd give us more than silhouettes to get excited about for each update. Most service games have a separate announcement of upcoming content instead of just the patch notes.

Still, a fun looking collection of cars this month. And a VGT.
PD always does a blog post the day before the update

So what is this?

This is the GTLM version of the car, equivalent to the GTE class used in the WEC. It's much like the 911 RSR and the Ford GT '18, which are basically race cars from the same championships (the former from the WEC, the latter from the IMSA series to be specific).

And, as mentioned on many occasions in the past, no, GTE/GTLM is not the same as GT3 in terms of specifications and BOP.

To be fair though, PD have already opted to put race cars of this kind into the Gr.3 class without much sense - the McLaren F1 GTR is also an odd inclusion as it's an old GT1 car.

TL;DR it would be nice to have a C8 Gr.3 in the game despite its real counterpart being irrelevant class-wise, though it seems unlikely.

Seems like a nice addon, but please give me finally some new road Audi cars... GT7 lacks them so much...
New facelifted R8 (there are 2 race cars and still no road version), some new RS and classic models so there could be a competition between comparable Audi, BMW and Merc models.
After this update I actually have some faith we may see at least one 2015+ audi and BMW . This update puts Alfa / Chevy / and Bugatti up to date in their halo cars. I would say there is a chance ( although a small one) we may get the modern R8 or at least the 2016+ one . BMW wise the current gen M4. With that i say the car list becomes more up to date.
Also this fourm is toxic , we have crybabys sho get mad We don't get new cars old cars tracks or events. Like this update is getting races because the last one got the collections .

That's a GTE car, in the GT LM category (which Chevrolet also ran, modified, as a GTD car in 2022 and will do so again in 2023). GT3 replaces that class in 2024.
That’s for GTE. The official GT3 car will arrive in 2024 with new endurance racing regulations.

Gotcha, thanks!

@Famine Grid Legends already has the Alfa Giulia GTAm, so this isn't the first appearance of it in an official racing game (excluding mods for the likes of AC).

What about this "little" thing? Bug or...

Probably referring to Nurburgring GP/D and VLN layouts (GP/D + Nordschleife).

Whether we get it this update or not, no one knows.

It's probably quicker for you to get a PC, download AC and this mod rather than wait for PD to add the cars and tracks you want. They just keep ignoring a whole subsection of car brands, and same goes for tracks. Not to mention their sloooow progress in adding anything. Trust me, you won't look back ;)

Taking from what we know from the datamined car list, I believe the first car is a 430 Scuderia, not a C8.
