A decent night, but not a great one by any means considering it was Friday. Light rain may have kept the supercars away, but I'm working the theory that whenever I leave my camera in the car for the night, I don't get good pictures the next day. I'm also working the theory that the days are switching off - on Tuesday I saw the Carrera GT; Thursday brought me the Murcielago, meaning Saturday should be the next big hit. I suppose we'll see if any of this holds true, as I've brought the camera in for the night and tomorrow's Saturday meaning I'm fixing to see an Enzo or something of the sort. Anyway - here's the pictures:

July 7, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

I violated my "never photograph a Flying Spur" rule tonight, but only because it was the most expensive car I saw. It's not the rarest in that picture though - in fact, when all is said and done, I imagine it'll end up the third rarest.

This is a memorable day Australians... or so I think.

Today I, quite possibly saw the first actual Ford GT in right-hand drive on Australian roads just released by Dreamtech.
It was either the first of those 10 scheduled to be released, as the only other genuine Ford GT in the whole of Australia is the one placed in the Ford Performance Racing shop at FPV headquarters in Melbourne, though the one I sighted was Red, bearing white racing stripes.

At $500,000, these aren't cheap and it certainly didn't look it.
Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me but it was located on the main highway in Sth. Frankston, Victoria.

Excruciatingly mediocre day today. I think you know you're living the life when you can see thirteen Porsche 911s representing every single generation, two BMW 840Cis, and a Passat W8 and still consider the day "excruciatingly mediocre."

afp-77.jpg

Do note that the Passat is the even rarer (if that's possible) wagon version. Also note that one of the 840Cis was running Alaska plates, with a "Beverly Hills BMW" frame. And it was seen in Colorado. Quite the traveller!

Just out of curiosity, what were you driving at the time (if anything)?

Funny how different vehicles are rare in different countries. I swear I see a bajillion F-150s a day, but I have never seen a ferarri, only one lambo and it was was ricerized, and two espirits of which one was ricerized too.
The thing that made me laugh is right after this M5Power sees a Defender 90 and notes it, even if it is a mediocre day. Yet I see loads of them everyday, just liek you'd see F150s.

I've never seen that Lambo in red color. It's beautiful!
Same here and i agree!

And i agree about the Ford F150's size. Seen a few around this city and they are way too big so it the F250, and the Dodge Ram with the Viper engine is ALSO way too big! They (the Viper engined trucks) are selling for about $100,000NZD in the city, there about three or more for sale. The lesser powered ones are between $70,000 and $95,000 i think.

For comparisons sake, when the R34 GT-R came out here it was selling for $100,000 or more, and now is usually found in the $60,000 - $80,000 bracket.

Why, my car is the best of them all!

It's a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo sedan - 222 horsepower 2.3-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder; 0-60 in 7.1 and a mid-15 at the dragstrip plus heated leather, sunroof, dual zone automatic climate control, memory seats. It's a fantastic car. I'm off to college in less than two months, though, so it's got to go - however I'm already nearly 70% of the way towards buying a replacement.

 Indeed indeed - though I bet the F-150 is rarer in the UK. Was it ever officially imported? The Defender 90 is quite rare here though, and unless you're in the right place you'll never see them. The "right place" is typically defined as an expensive college's campus, not the rugged outdoors, as they're a sort of Jeep Wrangler for rich kids.

An interesting note about the Defender 90 is that it's got the best resale value of any car in the last 20 years, and possibly longer than that. We only got it in 1994 and 1995 where it sold for $28500 and $29300 respectively; a check of AutoTrader reveals 30 nationwide with the average price for one at $30500 - that's more than they started at. Who says recent cars can't be a good investment?

I was looking at the prices of them recently aswell and they do hold their value well here aswell. Though not quite that well. :)

Some decent sightings today. First the more benign; an original M6 and the extremely rare Troy Lee Edition of the Mazda B-series pickup, though I'd be surprised if anyone but MazKid could appreciate that one, and God only knows what happened to him.

But how about this one?

It's been on my must-see list for quite a while - finally caught it today. It's the most powerful, quickest, and fastest SUV ever manufactured - as well as the most expensive. Although the Lamborghini LM002 was more expensive and possibly more powerful, but only about 300 were made and most of them ended up in the Middle East. I'm not even 100% sure it was ever officially sold in the US, although teenage car nuts will swear by it. Hunter S. Thompson, the weirdo writer of "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" had one and lived in Aspen, Colorado, so I figure I've got a better chance than anyone here of seeing it, but since he's dead that might not be true. The point is, Cayenne Turbo S.

2 BMW M5
a BMW 850i
an Audi S6
a Porsche 911 Turbo
a Lotus Elise

I saw a Red '06 C6 today. Nothing too special. The only thing that made it special was the guy was making a right hand turn and gunned it mid-turn and fishtailed the rear end. Kept it controlled perfectly into the turn too. Kudos to that guy (even though there was some minor traffic present).

Well today I was in SF :D...
Me and my friend took a bus from San Rafeal, to SF. And well on the way there I saw 3 STi's, a white NSX with gold racing rims. We passed a dealer with 3 Lamborghini Gallardos, 2 Bently's, and a Ferrari F430 Convertable.. O yeah a few Elises.

Also saw a couple of Supras, a couple good looking MR2's, the old MR ones. A couple million M's, and AMG's.... God theres soo many of them

FD RX-7 with a really good LS6 swap, Silver.

'07 Ford Mustang GT-CS.

Plus a smattering of Porsche's, including a 993, and an SL55 AMG.

Saw an M5 today. However unlike the new M5, which everyone keeps happily posting that they've seen, this one's actually uncommon!

July 9, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

Considering that for the US market they only made 1,369 of these and all were 1988 models, this is a damn good sighting.

Another exciting and fast German sedan:

aft-rs4.jpg

July 9, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

This one's been out in the US for only a few weeks. I saw my first one about two weeks ago in black. It actually looks a lot like the S4, except the alloys are different and it has two subtle, tasteful "V8" badges right next to the front wheels. If not for the wheels, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference from a distance.

Rain might drive "real" supercars into hiding, but it seems to bring out some nice all-wheel drive cars!

And something that's even rarer:

afu-16el.jpg

July 10, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

These were only sold in Canada. I was sitting at a light and saw it go by. You've got to be pretty good at chasing cars to be able to tell the difference between this and a Civic. Very cool car, and probably the only one registered in Colorado. Plates indicate it's been here for about three years, though admittedly they could've been transferred from a different vehicle.

Snapped this on my way to work this morning. I really ought to carry around a real camera, this one is terrible.

Yeah, you're right, they were only made in Canada. Heck, I see them every day...

I saw a A6 2.7T as well as an A4 Avant, blue with 19" wheels parked.
