A Ranchero is one thing. A F150 is another. The current one, alone, is 2,004mm wide, 75.6 inches tall, and 112 inches long as a standard model. And even though the Diablo is wider, the width is at least used for aerodynamic purposes. The F150, on the hand, is just large.

I wouldn't say it is "just large". It's wide and long because it needs to be in order to fit as many things in the bed as possible. It's not just a 'ooh look at me' kind of vehicle like the the Japanese trucks seem to be.

considering it is parked right up the street from the Ranchero it's probably either an American living there or someone witha ford fetish.

You don't have to be American, speak English or even been out of your country to like American cars you know. I don't speak Dutch or have ever been near Holland but am sill a havarti enthusiast.

Let's just say we don't get a lot of 'Ring decals in Colorado.

Or these:

Hmmm... Look what I came across lurking in a parking lot today... Sandwiched between a Clio and a Saxo

Look at those gun metal alloys! :scared:... is this the S version?

Robin.

I saw an R32 Skyline today, in Gun Metal Gray (I don't know if that's the official name for the color), which I've never seen in Michigan before. As far as I know, they're not street legal here. Must've been down here from Canada, where they're actually legal. Very cool to see one in person! First one I've ever seen.

Today there was a British car festival about 120kms North of Perth… and it was a very nice drive there. I was lucky enough to spend the day in the passenger seats of two quite very rare Aston Martins. 👍
On the journey up, I was in this extremely nice DB4…

The seats were a little worn, the seatbelts tried to kill me, and the door was quite difficult to open… but the car was truly amazing. I felt like a bit of a star as we entered the event… every single head turned towards us, as it was the first Aston to join the show. There was also a DB7, DB5 and Lagonda, which were part of our group, a few other oldies, and a DB9 which belonged to someone else (I was hoping to sit in it, but no luck :( ). There was a great deal of historic cars at the event… as far as the eye could see, and a lot of E-type Jags :).

For the trip back, I decided to switch seats to see what the Lagonda was like. It was enormous, had a digital dash (you could even select between MPH and KPH), electric everything, beautiful sounding V8, and had the same thick comfy chairs you might find in your living room. I loved it! Apparently there are only 11 of them in Australia, and 600 or so worldwide… great stuff.

The second picture was taken during the trip back to town… taken from the inside of the Lagonda, while following the DB4.

A few more shots of the show:

So yes, that's what I saw today

Nige: you've got a clean enough shot of the front reg plate, why not put it in at a registry finder site?

Dac_Xint is right, it's definately a Y32 Nissan Cedric/Gloria. But it doesn't answer the question why anyone would possibly drive it in that get-up.

I've been waiting for bad enough luck to make a collage like this for so long. It was frustrating that the first time I saw a 599 with my camera and not at a track it was totally botched by some gypsy in an Intrepid. The two larger pics would've been ballin' too...

Right as I lined up to shoot this DB9 that was waiting to turn, I see a bunch of private school 12 year-old kids taking pictures of the same car. One that I recognized who sometimes walks by when I'm at my usual perch (many of my recent shots are here - slightly higher than street level across from that Hyatt hotel) comes up to me and says "you car hunt here too?" I was so peeved that a bunch of kids now come to shoot the same cars as I do. Somehow the specialness of seeing something rare is lost when there's a group of children taking pictures of the same car with cell phone cameras. I think it made it worse that one of them was shooting with daddy's 1,500$ Canon.

Filled with frustration that my little spot isn't my little spot anymore, I shot one last picture for that place and walked away for the last time:

Making matters worse, the 12 year-olds followed me and took the same angles and same shots of me of the 599. I was thinking of being friendly and asking what they had seen today and if they post them anywhere, but forget about it. He was lucky I wasn't a bad person, because there are plenty of people in this city who would pick off that Canon as if he was a ripe little strawberry bush.

hahahaah sorry, I had not seen that but it was fun enough that even my borther and wife laughed. Yeah, that also happened to me a few years ago with a modified 930 turbo, a truck blocked it entirely -_-

On to more cars:

Two-toned Datsun wag on a parking lot, still in progress it seemed:

This was really cool but not original, a pace-car painted late70s-early 80s Vette, 350 auto, it was in a Dodge-Chrysler dealer o_O:

A really well preserved Maverick with period mags; 4-speed too:

356 bodied drag car with turbo VW bug engine, saw this thing race a few years ago: 11.4x seconds @ nearly two kilometers above sea level; the silver bug at its side runs low 13s:

This 41 (I think) De Sotto appeared near my house, and two days later was gone:

A 46 Plymouth wich the owner even opened for me to see (partly 'cause it was for sale, a year later found it in another part of the city), note one barrel carb on the flathead six :dopey::

57 chevy 4-door wag, really rough and incomplete, but with a lot of potential, just add headlamps:

That MG ZT V8 somes up modern MG owners, it's amazing someone actually bought one in the first place, and then they added a removeable tow hook for those weekends away.

Hah, I agree, though if anything is going to move a white heap of a caravan about it's going to be a 400bhp V8 (according to the badge on the back) like that one. On the way back from the circuit I was following a Jaguar XJR with a tow hook too. It depresses me.

ohhh i know a story on that car.

The guy (ian) bought it on a saturday,by sunday morning it was at a hot hatch day at knockhill and went into a tyre wall.....by the next weekend it was entered into a race series

dreadnought by any chance?

Ran into this 240Z on the way to a party, so I stopped and caught some shots of her. Too bad it was so dirty, and too bad the sun was so harsh on the car. I did what I could...

Then on the way home from the party, came across my first Evo. Too bad the gin had already done its damage and my shots came out really noisy.

Those 240Z shots are stunning, I love the way the sun is hitting it and the dirt just adds a element of character. Good job on the photography 👍.

Small world! The Gallardo was pretty competitive to say it's pretty much standard. The other one was full race spec just about.

As for the caravan comment, is that a rhetorical question? Or do you know someone with a dreadnought hitched up to an XJR? It wasn't actually towing a caravan, I just thought it a travesty :P
