In Bristol yesterday

By looking at those houses and road, I'd sat that's Redland, right? Near Redland Park and Clyde Road, just off Whiteladies Rd? Those streets were my stomping grounds for a good three years.

Doug, congrats on your 1,000th career car sighting. I know that would be a great achievement by any means and grateful that you still continue to do this for GTP. 👍 Rue, nice spot as usual but what is so significant about that Pajero? Am I really missing something.....?

It's like UKGTP9 all over again ;)
If it's the one in the lead, it's me driving. :dopey:

I just thought it looked pretty cool with it's big tyres, highh ground clearence bumpers and snorkel. That's all.

UKGTP9 - The Nono Results & Media Thread
Sunday
Event Four: Epic Dutch-Shtyle League Rayshing; Yeah!
Race 20: Pajero Rally Raid '85 @ Hong Kong Reverse; RaceMedium - 5 laps

That's why it's significant. :D

I wouldn't have taken a picture...ok maybe I would have, but the car had Georgia tags on it so I'm assuming Doug's seen it before. It's from Fulton county.

Very cool! I've never seen AVH7366... however I do have two silver Phantoms whose plates I don't have. Both were on custom wheels - was the one you saw?

exigeracer im jealous of your panning skills :P

saw somethin odd today, 2 unplated chevys on back of a truck, epica maybe some kind of large saloon, plain white and they both had spotlights on em just above the mirrors  i wouldnt really see need for them for the public, new police cars?

Is that an M5 I see in the background?

If this city is anything like Hong Kong (which I'm sure it is less than) then M5s aren't worth lifting your camera for - they're absolutely everywhere. I stopped a long time ago. Even new M3s are every day occurances and rarely worth the shot.

Never liked Vipers but this was the first I got a shot of one (I did see a coupe, which is apparently rare)

YAAAAWN

Also took some more stuff along the same business as usual of a 4 door GTI. Nothing worth posting in DYSAGT because of the common subject, but also daft photography. Despite my best efforts, the lone sportscar in an empty parking lot looked like a car in a parking lot. Photography fail. Pics are on my Photobucket page if anyone's interested in digging for them...

Didn't see much today. Was out driving in the country and was blown past by a Lotus Elise as well as a Maserati Coupe.

No, I do not have pictures. I do not have time to focus a Nikon D40 on 2 cars that are just inches from me going in the opposite direction.

Azure is the soft-top... the coupe version was the Bentley Continental. Very rare!

Ah, ok. Cheers! I always get the Bentley/Rolls models confused. This was the first time I didn't Wiki the name. Looks like I'm gonna have to next time.

Is that an M5 I see in the background?

Yes, but as exigeracer (great Scaglietti photo btw) said, they're not uncommon.

Even with BBS LMs (or so they seem)? It'd be the spot of the year here.

More old, abandoned cars and a couple of ones that work:

Renault R8, week after this pic was shot it was gone.
must1003.jpg

This was odd, a 1971 El Dorado with the 500 cube engine (500+ lbft) converted to a pickup, the engine was just huge:
elcadoomino.jpg

In the same place, a 1967 Pontiac Le Mans ragtop with a one-barrel small block... needs a 455:

Again in the same place, Willys wag:

mid-50s Mercedes near my work:

Behind the stupid GP, 1953-4 Buick:

Now, on with the cars that work,1941 Chevy with 17-inch American Racing 200S imitations:

1967 318 4-speed Barracuda with wheel test:

PRISTINE 1929 Ford Model A Coupe with rumble seat:

Dispointingly blurry Carrera 4, I had this by my side like a whole minute and could not get a decent shot of it:
outoffocuscarrera.jpg

Then this passes by and for the hell of it I shot and snap a very good picture, needless to say I was pissed off, this should have been the Porsche, not this hulk of thrash:
chevyrojoplata209.jpg

there goes.

Is it just me, or is that R8 positively dwarfing the CC?

Doug...er...nice Enzo? Dunno what else to say. "Spectacular." Yeah, that works. Anyway, of lesser interest, I'm sure:

Saab 9-3 Viggen convertible

No idea Saab did a Viggen convertible. As expected, it's driven by a baby boomer. With leather elbow patches and a pipe, I'm sure.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

A quick shot for me, as I heard it but could not hear where it was coming from.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante

Another nice find in the parking lot where I work.

BMW M3 Sedan

Had no idea any version of the M3 was out yet. Nice to see, sensibly driven...especially with the toddler seat in the back.

BMW M6

Okay, now that they're finally showing up around me, I'm officially underwhelmed. Bloated, tubby, and too slow for 500HP. Nice boulevardier, but that's it.

Maserati Gran Turismo

Another underwhelmer. Lack of coherency, lack of lightness. Can't blame them for trying, though.

custom hot rod

Wanted to race. Not interested. Could have destroyed it in the STI, but given it was Memorial Sunday...no. Just...no. I'd enjoy this day better without the police.

Dodge Charger R/T 1967

I'm starting to really like muscle cars, if only because of their rarity here. But I guess salted winter roads will do that.

Pontiac GTO HO455

From the House of Blurry Photos, we have one of many that was headed to a GTO gathering up near Brewster. (Lots of American car gatherings that day. Two generic muscle car club meets, one Solstice/Sky meeting at the Red Rooster on NY22, and the GTO meet.) I also have a photo of a large yellow dot that I promise is a Dodge Viper.

Ford F-150 Lightning

Given it's location and the awful modifications, I have major doubts as to this thing's authenticity. But who'd copy the old Lighting? So few even knows about it.

I mean, seriously, those wheels.

Ford Mustang Bullitt 2002

The only Bullitt I've seen on the road, fake or not. Best-looking Mustang of that generation, Cobra R aside.

Ford Mustang Saleen S289 Convertible

Tried to get a better shot, but he backed out and sped away. No big loss, I'm sure.

Honda Civic Si Mugen

Or, we finally tracked down one of the many who've stolen the Mugen parts!

Ferrari 328GTS

Saw this thing from at least a mile back, through traffic. No idea how. Must have been the way-too-short red block hoovering around.

Lamborghini Murcielago

I saw this guy out of the corner of my eye, and the second he came into view, he sped off. I mean, chirped wheels and revved engine. Sped. Like I caught him doing something bad. The red light made the image, though. That and I knew a shortcut to get photo #3...not that I did much of a good job with it.

The lightning is not real, and the Charger looks awesome with the dog dish wheels and white stripe (:

And no, you wouldn't have destroyed the 32 Ford, it would have let you for dead, about 2200 lbs and V8 torque (and who knows what V8), andthose things handle well... not STI well but you would have been very surprised.

Edit: Welll... is your STI modified? :D

Not just a coupe - you've managed to spot one of ~800 Viper GTS ACRs. That is an incredible sighting and even considering harry's Murcielago and the recent 612s, that is the spot of the hour! Very cool exigeracer!!!

mid-50s Mercedes near my work:

I love shots from Mexico! Believe it or not this 'mid-50s Mercedes' is actually an S-class if you can believe it! '54-'58 and the first gen. I see them once every blue moon so thanks for the photo, despite the crappy condition!

Mine 2nite:

f430_spider-053008-2.jpg

f430_spider-053008.jpg

These were within a block of one another - I wonder if the presence of the other made either one's driver switch his choice for dinner - btw the gray one is F430 #45 for me ... and believe it or not I've seen more Spiders than coupes (by seven!)

@Turbo_Lag: I think I know that spot, is it in Oakleigh?

Kind of, near the Huntingdale station. You know the bridge over the train line? The car was on Milgate street, in the middle of all the warehouse things. I actually told my dad to follow it there so I could take a good pic.

Thanks, I snapped it because they are also relatively rare over here, I usually dont shot abandoned mid-60s "fins" Mercedes because they're everywhere, but these aren't that common, thanks for identifying it, I'm not Mercedes expert and had no badges -_-

As for shots of Mexico, you'll get plenty more, one my defunct website's main sections was the one with all the abandoned cars, wich you find even in the best zones ofthe city.
