Behold, the Maybach 62!

Seriously though, it's not too beautiful....

Alas, not. My problem with the vehicle is that it's running alloy wheels that are bested by several current Mercedes products, including the S-class. In the end, though, I'm dead sure it's a fantastic vehicle. It does have presence and it was fun to look at.

I need help identify a car I saw today. I didn't get a picture of it, but from the front it looked like an XKR, but from thr back it looked like a fiat turbo coupe.

Maybe you saw some type of TVR? Thats the only thing I could think of, unless you saw some weird kit car.

mercedes cl500-spotted in the focus DIY carpark when i went to get some paint with my dad
i used his camera phone-transfered it to mine via infra-red then put on ma pc then put it here, so it's been on a fair jourey- not a great photo

Thats not really that special, ie, do you see that model often?
It's rarer than you might think. There are tons and tons of Mercedes running around Puget Sound, but very few are CL's. I'll see lots of SLs and S-Classes, but not many CLs at all. Most people who can afford the CL would rather buy the SL as a status symbol. We all know that people who have convertables are wealthier than those who don't.

The CL500 is to Hong Kong, what the Ford Focus is to England. Still a damn nice car though and is that not what this thread is about?

a busy day there huh? looks like the car parks all packed out, well im sure my lady (whom in fact works in that focus) managed just fine ;)

anyway, didnt see anything special today, but yesterday i saw a noble m12 go past my house, and a new brg XK. nice.

Hey - don't call us meatheads! All we want to do is see the capabilities of your vehicle! I rev at every Evo I get next to at a light. My Volvo is quick, but it's not that quick (or anywhere near). Once I came up next to an MR at a light and revved. I power-braked and took off at least a car-length ahead. I was in heaven. He then shot past me so fast I can't describe it. I used to race at the dragstrip, so I know quick. This was absurd. For the record I've never revved at an STi - though that's because I've never been next to one at a light - but I'm sure it's the same deal. I imagine it'd get boring for you, but for us (the non-STi-owning crowd) it's fun. :D

That's (slightly) different than what I experience. Usually it's a kid in an SUV like a Hemi Durango trying to overtake me on a 2-lane country road...with lots of blind corners. Or a deadbeef Civic with a fartcan trying to see who can make it to the next stoplight...in Jamaica, Queens...at night...in the rain.

If it's a more secluded area, or an empty highway (there's some around me with traffic lights), then I might enjoy things a little. But I also get attention from guys in Corvette's who want to show me what "a real car is". And this is while we're in traffic.

^Those are meatheads. Fortunately, you describe something a bit different.

Mostly when I drive I like to be alone on the road. It's safer, and there's no one who's off pace getting in the way. When I'm the only one on the road, I could be pegged at the speed limit, and it's so much more fun than doing 80 with a dozen other cars nearby.

Ranked 18th in what? I'm sure Harvard is somewhere near the bottom for Art Therapy....

Back on topic: It's been raining for most of the last week. So, uh, I ain't seen nothin'.

chaser_fan: You have got to be kidding me with that squadron of yellow Porsche's.

Well, I saw a 6 wheeler H2 with a huge lift kit and tons of rubber.

Ferrari Dino GT
Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale (with tricolour stripes!)
Porsche Carrera GT
Many Ferrari F355s
Ferrari 250GT (Replica, but beautifully done)
Norris designs Mitsubishi Evo 7 RS.
Many M3s
Mercedes SL65 AMG V12 Biturbo
DB7 Vantage
Ford Mustang GT
Honda NSX
and much, much more...

Driving home through Springfield, Missouri (live north of there) and a %#@$! Ferrari F40 (the real deal or one helluva good fake) pulled out onto the highway in front of us. Traffic was a bit slow and he wasn't going very fast, so I was hoping we could get closer, but my dad started talking on his stupid cell phone, which means he started driving slower and wouldn't even move over to the fairly empty fast lane to get around the ultra slow traffic (most people turn off at some point, so they weren't passing and my dad just followed right behind even though we were driving through). Luckily, I got a really good look at the F40 when it got stuck behind a light down an off-ramp.

Wish I had a camera :(

It wooshed past me on high street. Only detail I could pick out was that it was an electric blue kind of colour. Similar to world rally blue mica.

If you want details, I was going up to make some dinner for my gran because she's under the weather (we think it's the flu) so i went to cook for her.

It was Shepherds Pie, I repeat Shepherds Pie that I made, but I didn't have carrots so I went up a few streets to her sisters house and asked her for some. She had 3 carrots in her fridge, and since i needed just one, she let me pick which one I was going to use.

In the end, I went for the second one, it had the look of a champion carrot, had had amazing presence on the chopping board.

how did the badger 5 ibiza do?

Not sure, was paying more attention to the Owen Developments Evo 8 in Class A (AWD up to 3000.cc) flying round the track, until it lost pressure in the turbo...

In the end Tony Dolley from Bridgewater took overall lead in his Peugeot 206GTi after the Evo 8 dropped out, winning his class (Class B - 2WD 1801.cc to 3000.cc) by a fair margin.
