Best part of that picture is the road sign above: Forfar Road.

Far away indeed.

Off topic: About cameras: I need a camera that's fast. I've got a Canon PowerShot S400, and it takes ages to focus. I can deal with the turn-on time, but the focus time is costing me shots and small hand movements affect the picture drastically. There's also the problem of poor focus in general, but I think that's from when I got caught in a sandstorm last year, and fine sand is still in the chassis...so I guess I need a new camera anyway.

I'm not looking for something like the S1 or Nikon D70; I'll get something like that for more formal photo-taking. This would be a different: small and fast, and decent but it doesn't have to be best-in-class. Something just for this hobby....

The V8 Vantage, while more affordable, has two things against it:
- it's a relative unknown idea from AM
- it's got huge competition (Porsche 911, Corvette Z06, etc.)

Probably true - particularly the second one.

I'm extremely happy with my new Lumix/Panasonic DMC-LZ3 as far as taking pictures of cars goes. It was ~$250 and has 5.1mp, but the best part is it can be turned on, focused, and take a photo in less than four seconds. Some of my recent photos have lacked quality, but that's only due to the conversion from BMP to JPG - the camera itself has been exquisite and I highly recommend it. I also like the fact that I can carry it in my pocket everywhere (my old camera was huge). I highly recommend at least checking it out. My only gripe is that zoom isn't that good, but it's better than my old camera so I'm not complaining.

Great Zonda spot Holdenhsvgtsr 👍

- that's got to be the thread's best spot upto this point.

He didn't claim to have spotted it. I'd love to hear a backstory on that photo, but I'm not sure that it's his. If it is, it'd definitely be one of the better sightings in this thread.

not my picture had to get it off my mate :) he has tons of pictures of it,he goes out spotting like you,i have seen this car in person a couple of times,i did have pictures of it on my phone but that was stolen on sunday :grumpy:

I just had a fire drill at my school and one of the Science teachers, Mr.Milletello has a new 4 door Wrangler Unlimited, it has the Rubicon off-road package and all of the options, he used to have a 99 wrangler limited.

I would have my camera, but I didn't have my photoshop class today. :)

saw this Aston Martin DB7 this morning while I was on the highway. I love AM's. Pictures of the car are decieving, this car is LOW and smaller than you'd imagine.

That's Virginia folks - and brand new plates. I've seen a few DB7s, but I've only photographed one - oddly in that same color scheme and also a Volante. Nice sighting! 👍

some older sightings:

i know it's at the MPH'05 show, but its mega rare!

(and for some reason-im rubbing my eye:crazy: )

yeah it's farboud GT - i idint have a clue when i was sittin on the wheel arch ^^ :D but i later found out on the 'net. im going again this year and the site claims that it will have -zonda F-CCX-veyron-apollo etc.

IM DEFO GOIN!

Edit. Just a shame the dash is in better focus.

Not a problem - still pretty clear what it is. I've had that happen to me countless times! Good sighting. 👍

Last night was pretty good for car spotting:

September 23, 2006 - Atlanta, Ga.

That's a two-door Mercedes G-wagen. Those weren't sold in the States, but were unofficially brought over by a company in New Mexico. Consequently, I'd see one every so often when I lived in Colorado, but I didn't expect to see any out here! Either way, they're quite unusual.

Cobb County, Georgia plates - a bit west of Atlanta.

23-360spider.jpg

September 23, 2006 - Atlanta, Ga.

This is one of two yellow 360 Spiders I saw last night, although I was only able to photograph this one. I was also unable to photograph a gold Bentley Continental GT I saw, although "unwilling" is probably a more apt term as it was parked across a busy street from where I was and I really didn't want to take the walk for something so relatively common.

The best part of last night:

Phantom, Gallardo, Phantom + Gallardo. For your viewing pleasure. :D

As I was driving today, I didn't get a chance to snap any of the many utterly sublime cars I saw (2x Vanquish, Maserati 4200, Camaro IROC-Z, bright yellow Countach, orange Sagaris, pair of TVR T350s, EvoII in Ralliart livery, Evo VI). But I did get a few minutes as a passenger, and I managed to snap this Peugeot 307...

:D

Sweeet! A blue one!

I've just come back from visiting my girlfriend in Britain and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of nice cars there (with the exception of a few very horribly styled ones)!

Over the past week I've seen:

Loads of RX-8's and Toyota MR2's, a TVR Sagaris, a couple of 350 Z's, a couple of Aston Martin Vantages, a Lamborghini Gallardo, an R33 Skyline GTR, and the best one: In Edinburgh i saw a Porsche Carrera GT drive past. :) 👍
