Caught two rare performance variants on campus today:

gxpm5.jpg

The new M5 is owned by a staff member; I see it on a daily basis and posted a picture of it elsewhere in this thread. Not sure who owns the Bonneville GXP and though it's not the muscle car the M5 is, it's quite a bit more unusual (and still quite fast, as it uses Cadillac's 4.6-liter Northstar V8). Nice to see them together. Picture was taken November 14, 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia, on the Emory University campus.

Standing next to it, it struck me how similar the body is to the F-350. In fact, I believe the bed is taken directly from a Dually, and it looks like everything behind the hood is, too.

I see a Ferrari F430 (Silver) Almost every weekend. Someone in my town owns it. And I can't tell how good it sounds when they rev..
I find my self quit lucky to live in a town of 7,000. And there are 4 or 5 Ferraris, and a Porsche Carrera GT, in it.

I saw an old Renault GTA (Not the Alpine version). It was red, and in MINT condition, possibly very common where most Europeans live, but it is definatly a rarity in CT.

Really? Ive seen one of these around my area a couple of times, doesnt look like anything spectacular, just rather large and completely black.
i'll have to get pictures if i see it again :)

It's not spectacular, and that's part of the reason it's rare. ;)

Cadillac XLR-V. There's also one on display inside a local mall - along with an STS-V.

S6? STS-V? Where?? (see below) :D

Cadillac STS-V - seen a few XLR's, but no XLR-V's. And I've not seen one -V driven like it "should" be.
Audi S6 1995 - saw it almost every day, thought it was an old S4...guess not.
Audi RS6 - loudest Audi I think I've ever heard
Audi RS4 - yes, louder than this one...and better.
Ferrari grab bag (last 3 photos) - technically it's at a garage, but I'm trying to figure out what they are. There's a Porsche 928S, but no number? And is there such a thing as a 308 Berlinetta? I can't read it anyway.

The first Ferrari is a 308 GTS, with its removable targa top. The 308 GTB had a fixed roof.

Well, it shouldn't be too hard to get some pictures of them then, should it?

You've got a 308 GTS a Porsche 928S (early version before the S2, S3 or S4) and a 348 GTS. The Berlinetta tag goes with the GTB's (fixed hard roof) the 'S' on the GTS's is for Spider (targa style removable hard roof).

These days they're pretty rare in Europe too. Especially the Renault badged versions (Renault could'nt use the Alpine badge in the UK because another manufacturer had the rights to it at the time) which i was under the impression was a UK market only car.

Wow. You'll probably not believe this but this morning I saw a Aston Martin Vantage Zagato, the late 80s one.

One of these but in dark green, maybe British Racing Green. Only 50 of these ever built. The guy was going to the post office in it as well....

The Ferraris are a 308 GTS and a 348ts. Someone incorrectly said it was a 348GTS; it's not - the GTS was made only in 1993 and 1994 and has body-colored lower panels, which the on the in the photo does not have. Regarding production numbers, about 4,000 targa-roofed 348s were made, about 3,300 of which were the 348ts you photographed. I consider myself extremely lucky to have seen one of 700 GTS models:

agf-348.jpg

(July 22, 2006 - Denver, Colo.)

Around 12,000 308s were made, about 8,000 of which were the targa-roofed GTS model you photographed. The 928S was sold from 1983 to 1986 before being replaced by the 928 S4.

Regarding the S6 you've photographed, it's indeed not an S4, sadly - just a '95 S6. Despite the fact that the S4 ran from '92 to '94 and the S6 was only sold in '95, the S6 is still about five times more common than the S4. Medical doctor plates...

Very good sighting! There were also 37 volantes built of that car.

Sorry I didn't have my cam, but when I was driving to school today I saw a dark grey Nissan Skyline GTS-T, the R32 gen model! Pretty kickass to see that.(Take into consideration I live in Canada) Pretty sweet that we have a Skyline Importer in my town too.

Lot of doctors in that building, but that's the only car with MD plates.

Two for today, both silver, and within 30 feet of each other.

BMW M Coupe - I think it's an earlier one (~1999). Wonderful flared arches all around.
Audi 80 quattro 20v - may not be all that special. Or genuine. The only references I can find are European, and just 1991. If it was real, wouldn't Edmunds list it?

The 80 was sold here from '88 to '92. Not sure which engine the 20V is, but I think those were definitely imported.

I have a VEYRON update for those of you interested.

The Veyron in the Denver area is owned by the multi-millionaire and possible billionaire grandson of the founder of the Yellow Pages. I know the man's name and the address where the Veyron is located along with a huge collection of Lamborghinis, and an Enzo, among dozens of other exotics, including the Murcielago Roadster I photographed for CAR. I am going to attempt to visit the residence next Saturday when I go home for Thanksgiving (though I will not trespass, so if the cars are inside the gated residence, I'll turn back). Supposedly this is the first Veyron ever manufactured. This is the same Veyron seen at the football stadium a few weeks ago by, I think, MileHighSRT. This man owns a sky box at the football stadium, and a parking space in Lot B, which is the most expensive parking lot at the stadium. If the Broncos make the playoffs this year, I'll go to the games (or the parking lots at least) and try to find the car. 👍

EDIT: Here are a few shots of the guy's collection:

If you're banned, why are you here? I'm sure that daan can in fact read, because if he couldn't, he obviously could not post in or read any threads on the forums, and if I were you, I'd either do something outrageous that does make us 'remember your name', or beg the moderators to let you back into GTP, and not mess up again.

Okay, so here's a little background behind these sightings:
I was down in Los Angeles over the weekend to watch the NHRA Finals (Still processing pictures... over 300 taken over the weekend of the races and the Peterson Automotive Museum). I kept an eye out for cool cars to take on the street, and here's what I was able to get:

Lancer Evo, @ Newport Beach (11/12/2006).
lacarspotevoru4.jpg

Cadillac CTS-V, @ the NHRA Finals in Pomona (11/11/2006).

Cadillac STS-V, en route from Newport Beach to Anaheim (11/12/2006).
lacarspotstsvma6.jpg

Bentley Arnage, @ Newport Beach (didn't quite catch it properly) (11/12/2006)
lacarspotarnagetw7.jpg

Audi RS4 and Plymouth Prowler, @ Peterson Automotive Museum (11/10/2006).

Shelby GT-H, @ NHRA Finals, Pomona (11/11/2006).

Finally, my best sighting of the weekend:
Bentley Continental GT, @ NHRA Finals, Pomona (11/11/2006).

Honorable mentions go to a couple other cars I wasn't able to catch, due to speed or lack of a camera.
-Aston Martin DB9, near Peterson Automotive Museum (11/10/2006).
-Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG, Newport Beach (11/12/2006).
-Cadillac Allante, Sidney, BC (Back in Canada)(11/17/2006).
