What car are you referring to because I'm a little confused.

The one on the podium, in the photo:

^This is the car you said wasn't a GTR. Since it clearly reads "McLaren F1 LM" just below, I guess I can't argue against that. I had been referring to "sightings in Las Vegas", which could imply either that the car was inside or on the street.

- If the "sighting" was on the street, and given that there were far more GTR's than LM's, it was more likely to have been a GTR.

- If the "sighting" was inside SEMA, then it was -- in all probability -- the LM on the white stage...the one in the photo...which most likely isn't a GTR. :)

*McLaren*
The LMs were GTRs basically except without air restrictors.

Unless it's the Longtail, but that's just an ugly beast best forgotten. :yuck:

Trio: da da da.

Porsche 911/993 Turbo - not the car I was hoping for, but whaletales are always nice.
Jaguar E-Type 4.2 - not sure which Mk#, but the guy drove it to Staples. A true classic car owner: running errands!
Dodge Viper SRT-10 - Also driven to Staples, but parked at least 1/4 mile away. I thought *I* was paranoid. This actually is one of the best photos I've taken in a while. The setting is great, and you can even read the tire markings. If someone wants a copy for their desktop, let me know, I'll try to post the 2.4MB file somewhere. (The Packard 180 & 160 are great, too...not to toot my own horn or anything. :D )

Series II. It has the ugly restyle job (as told by the tailight location being under the bumper) and the 4.2L I6. The Series III had the ugly restyle job as well, but only came in 5.3L V12 form.

Yet any one who has studied McLarens knows that's not true.

It's not a LM harry. That's just a GTR sporting the Aero Kit offered by McLaren. The LMs were Papaya Orange, a much "duller" orange color offered in 5-spoke rims.

I'm not sure which Ralph you're talking about except for Lauren who only ones a silver one.

I've heard he owns several, a claim which Wikipedia substantiates:

"Ralph Lauren - Owns chassis #074, #N/A and LM3. The LM was purchased from Frank Selldorff with minor damage."

I've seen some great stuff the last few days in Denver including a yellow Esprit V8, a yellow 360 Modena, a red F430 Spider, a black F355, and, today, a black Diablo VT Roadster of which I took more than 20 photographs. Pictures coming on Sunday, when I get back to Atlanta (and high-speed Internet).

I saw a pickup version of the monaro, bondy may have seen it before around daventry?

i havent been to dav for ages, i split with my girl a couple of months back.
what colour was it? i remember seeing a monaro of some description, parked outside what i think was a police station.

You should keep your eyes peeled around there CCX, ive seen a lot of nice cars just from my trips down there.

among which, ive seen;

tvr sagaris
tvr tuscan
ultima gtr
an old jaguar, cant remember which but one of the first classic jags :)

and maybe a few others which i cant remember, anyway im straying from the topic, so just equip yourself with a camera and try to get some pictures of something please! :)
if you spot that ultima gtr i'll personally come round and shake your hand :D

They customize them to an extent. The LMs were made as tributes to five McLarens of the 1995 Le Mans. They've made absolutely sure that no more will be re-produced in any fashion. The closest ever is a GTR converted to LM specs because the LMs were simply that. GTRs. However, the GTR that was converted was still not street legal. Many have attempted to change their McLarens into LMs, however, McLaren will not paint them in Papaya or give them F1LM badges.

The only 'pick up' version of Monaro made was a one off purple HRT ute concept, otherwise all the utes (pick ups) are Commodore based.

for the first time i was able to photograph (well alright it was a camera phone) a Corvette C6 :)

still need more practice with this stupid cameraphone, it doesnt show the whole picture on the screen, so i try to get closer to get less background and more car, but then i end up a step the wrong way

The exhausts just made me realise this was the same C6 i couldnt get a picture of a year ago on the way home from santa pod raceway, because i was driving and my friend wasnt very good with the camera as you can see :P

edit: also just noticed what a fantastic job the owner did of parking between the lines

That's a pretty cool C6 bondy. Nice work for a cameraphone 👍

I saw a sand-colored 911 Carrera today; well actually my dad almost backed into it  He tried to steal our parking space :P

S55 ///AMG
Today, I saw an SL65 AMG V12.
I just noticed that there is a Florida license plate on it! Long road trip. I live in Florida.

Trailblazer SS, first one I've seen.
For some reason I saw one yesterday, but didn't think much of it until now...

Pontiac GTO 5.7, good looking car!
I'm a Pontiac guy, and I don't think that it looks that good (even though I want one:sly:).

Had an incredible week in Denver, considering it's Colorado in November. Here are the pics to prove it:

Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster (need I say more?)

The Diablo VT Roadster has the most unbelievable presence of any road car I've ever seen. Just fantastic. Sorry for all the photos, but I had to, as this sort of thing will never be repeated. To my knowledge, just 466 of these were made. The guy who owns this one, who drove it around smoking a cigar, also has a Murcielago.

That's what I said it was in the first place. :odd: But that goes against two very obvious things:
- That's a Michelin display booth. Michelin had a significant part in developing the car. I would hope they know an LM when they have one.
- We've all established that McLaren does a fair amount of customization, and I can easily point out a number of awkwardly customer-modified F1's. That means that the color, wheels, and aero package are not exactly the right things to go by when determining spec level.

The extremely low production numbers on this car shouldn't make it hard to determine the full history of each car, but apparently it is. I've got the official book right in front of me (which I have actually read, word for word). And I've actually driven one (albiet briefly, 10 years ago). It's not as though I'm pulling this out of thin air....

Living in the city (or suburbs) means your car is at risk everywhere you park it. It's too crowded and full of people who just don't care for their, let alone your car. He's on an end spot, so he's not taking away a potential space. I do the same thing. I want my car as mint as possible as long as possible. I end my commute among a small group of similarly-minded individuals who all park at the far end, edging just off to the side. Seeing the lot of us at once looks odd, all shifted 1/4 space over. :D

Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster (need I say more?)

Nope. 👍

Hella nice weekend. I think the Smart was both the "dullest" and rarest. :D And that first-year Viper is fantastic. One of the few times three-spoke wheels look good.

Another trio: Ich lieb' dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht . . . da da da

Ferrari 360 Spyder - I could have had a shot of some assistant feverishly polishing it, but he just got in the way of a good car.
Rolls Royce Phantom - perfect setting for the car: NYC, Park Avenue & 48th, heading north. Caught it already in motion, but it looks great.
Ford GT - took multiple shots, but this one gives a great perspective of how short it is. The ticket was there before I got there (along with tickets on every car behind it - Range Rover SS, 760Li, S500, Denali), but none of those cars had moved when I "happened" by six hours later. Gave a real lift to over-crowded 5th Avenue Christmas shopping.

Ah, gotcha. :D

The full coupe definately looks the best.

Don't these things (all 355 models) still go for over $100,000 USD?

A few of the most recent ones (particularly '98 or '99 Spiders) still go for above $100k, but they're depreciating, and within the next couple of years they'll all dive below $100k. If the F430 successor comes out soon, that should bury them below $100k for good. Average price of a used F355 is in the mid-$80k range right now, and you can pick up a relatively nice '95 model for around $70k.

It's the first three-spoke RT/10 I've ever seen on the road. As I mentioned I think it's a '94 not a '92 based on the plates, but it's a first-gen either way, in addition to being a one-owner. I was very excited to see that car and did several drive-bys.

The Phantom has several photos on ExoticSpotter. Ontario plates. The Ford GT shot is a spectacular one. And remember, unlike Mitsubishi and Maserati, Ferrari spells it "Spider." Thanks for sharing those photos though - they're fantastic. 👍
